I am watching a similar scene play out right now in front of my office window here in the Seattle area. Every day I see crows attacking and pestering bald eagles. The only way the eagles seem to be able to get away from teh crows is to go to extremely high altitudes, but within 2000 ft of the ground the crows are relentless.
One day on my way to school, I heard this ferocious beating noise about three feet over my head, and sure enough it was a HUGE eagle being chased by some crows. It had some cut grass in its beak. The crows were pissed.
Hahaha...this is a great vid. Beautiful birds -- angry birds, but beautiful birds nonetheless!
today I saw 1 crow fly higher than Ive ever seen a crow fly before, to continually attack an eagle in Seattle. and after 10 min of relentless dive bombing, the crow was finally successful the eagle just plummeted straight to the ground, into the trees. then about 100 crows swarmed the area. Ive watched eagles and crows for 20 years, but Ive never seen a crow win - until now. it was unbelievable.
I was flying my plane at 9000ft altitude near Whitecourt, Alberta last year and almost hit a crow.
He was doing barrel rolls, it looked like he was having a lot of fun in a kickass thermal. Surprised me, the highest I've seen any birds before that(hawks, eagles) is about 4,000 ft.
I also had a pet crow when I was a kid. they get picked on too from all of the smaller birds. even the cute little birds are mean when it comes to protecting their nests and territories.
That Bald Eagle, had to have been quite agitated, from those mobbing Crows. However 4 Crows to one Eagle, would be bothersome....I think i should know, after studying birds for 15+yrs.
probably got too close to their nest!! i love all birds...smart and loving.
check out cat and crow are friends video.

I've seen this happen in Colorado. I saw like 5 crows chasing and messing with a hawk. It was a pretty cool sight.
