Thats coming from a so-cal loc with un-countable trips to ocotillo wells and baja. There must be dumb legal safety issues to abide by or Ford would have given that thing 20+ inches of travel to mob with. Looks fun, I just wouldn't expect to be next a truck with a real long travel kit, unless your ok with braking something.

As it is, the Raptor makes it down the Dearborn assembly line with 1/4 inch clearance on either side. Same deal with transporters. Third, there is more to Raptor than travel numbers, the suspension has been tuned perfectly for the truck. And you still cant match it for the price. Plus the off road mode, with ABS lockup setting and half kills the airbags.

My uncle has 06 ford 5.4 triton and hes spent more time with it in the garage then he has driven it! Just because ford made the first vehicle does not mean they are the best so keep playing with your tonka toy ranger. cuz powerstroke is a joke, triton falls apart, ecoboost is a croc of shit ,and coyote is terrible

@troyatl68 Well yes they can because they are all built trail rated, but you have to remember even a stock Wrangler can't match up to the performance of this stock Raptor, especially seeing as tho the Raptor is a much bigger and heavier vehicle. In terms of stock performance, Ford wins this race against GM and Chrysler

If I had one I wouldn't jump it too high. It would come in handy down these red dirt roads when they get the washboard on them though. Also driving through cow pastures and hitting truck and hog ruts it would be nice to not bottom out and get flung back up in the seat.

@Moe11032 the thing is that that H3 looks like it would only be good for some slow trails, and maybe some easy rock crolling, and pick up or even most SUV's can do that. The Raptor can do that and more, hence the reason it is more expinsive, up 100mph off road does not come cheap when you have a worrenty

Plus, if I were thinking about buying an H3, I would look at a Jeep Wrangler first. This is if you are thinking about performance.... Even so, Id still pocket the money and save for a Raptor. Show me another truck in it's weight class that can do this.

@Moe11032 you are right, people think these trucks are some sort of four wheeler. They are actually far from one. Yes suspension is beefed up, but the engine weight will still bottom out the front suspension with big jumps like the last one.
