  • lol, product placement

  • no pick mate

  • Excellent lesson.

  • can u make some power cord lessons?

  • Dave Hole uses his index finger, and he is one of the best slide guitarists I have ever heard...

  • joe walsh: middle finger slide

  • WOWW YEA NICEEE

  • thanks Andrew, you are a great teacher!

  • nice video

  • wouldnt it make sense to use a slide on your pointer? i mean, if you were sliding, you could use your other fingers to do fret work while the slide slides?

  • sometimes you use your pointer to control the sound.

  • Nice beginners tutorial, I also think the thickness of the glass makes a massive difference to the overall tone. So do try & avoid thin glass slides if poss. Rock n roll

  • No talk of open tunings? I recently took some slide lessons and we immediately tuned our guitar in E. Using that tuning, I was able to play "Bad to the Bone" from day one.

  • @Doggalina

real bluesmen don't use open tunings

  • @Fruscianteistheman tell that to derek trucks

  • hi, when you will teach again about bass guitar. Thanks

  • thanks this realy helped me awesome lesson!

  • I spent alot of time playing delta blues slide and I found the pinky is your best bet for two reasons. One: the combination of your index, middle and ring fingers (especially your ring finger) gently caressing the strings, minimizes fret buzz and gives a much warmer tone than if you wear the slide on other fingers. Two: You have access to many more chord shapes if you wear the slide on your pinky. Most slide players wear it on the pinky. I can't think of any of the greats that don't. Can you?

  • I can think of one: Duane Allman.

  • Bonnie Raitt plays with it on her middle finger, and she's unreal with slide.

Duane Allman used his ring finger.

Derek Trucks is ring as well.

    Sonny Landreth on the pinky.

    Ry Cooder = Pinky

    Johnny Winter = Pinky

  • Wow, I always thought Duane played with his pinky. That's a bar bet I would have lost!

  • speaking of slide fingers, i remember seeing Joe Walsh use a slide on his middle finger. although I think his looked like it was made of brass or something in the concert i saw.
