Straight Talk's deals are amazing - there has to be a catch surely? $45 for unlimited minutes, texts and data or $30 for 1000 minutes, texts and data. I don't know how other cell phone providers sleep at night knowing that they are riopping people off so badly wiht the rates that they charge in comparison..
To live a happy life, there are honestly very few necessities. One of those necessities, to keep in touch with family, friends, and work, is a cellphone. Now, simply because it is a necessity, does not mean it should be expensive. A solid example comes from Straight Talk. For 45 bucks a month, you can get unlimited talking, texting, and web. Necessity.
@LoverMrsNascar - for $45 a month, you get unlimited talk minutes, texting, and web/data. The other option is the $30 a month plan with 1000 minutes talk, text, free 411 calls and 30mb of data - just up to you with what you thing you need?
I use the straight talk $30 plan. It saves me a lot of money and I still get great coverage. No contracts, just right. I am a big fan of the Verizon network and prepaid.
For my use the best cellphone is Straight Talk, and believe me I have tried all companies and phones. I have saved since I switched to ST from Wal-mart. I use my cellphone a lot but with the $30 a month with 1000 min talk, text, free 411 calls and 30mb of data is more than enough. I just needed to save from the contract company I was. NO contract here, and no bills. Savings is a most.
45 is pretty ridiculous so people always seem to think that there's a catch. (these enthusiastic comments don't help :) but real talk is that 45 bucks gets you unlimited talk and text on Verizon's network. This comes at the drawback of having pretty weak internet and customer service that isn' the best. But if you can't spend a ridiculous 120 a month on your phone bill, you can't expect first class seats.
i'm not sure that contract providers are going ot be able to keep up with prepaid unlimied deals such as the $45 one with straight talk. they are offering unlimited texts, data and minutes for half of what you pay on a contract. great coverage as well because they just rent the verizon and at&t networks!
Straighttalk are indeed the benchmark on which cellphone companies are rated. Everything they sell, promise, supply are always a 100%. I don't know anyone who has one of their phones, complain.
I have been with straighttalk for over a year now and have never had a reason to call the call centre - not a minutes worth of trouble. This just goes to show me that straighttalk offers only their best to their customers unlike the contract phone that I had previously
Thanks for the advise gunnguy but I have to say that I have been with Straighttalk for over a year now and have not had a minute of trouble - had no use to call the call centre. I think that this just goes to show that straighttalk offers their customers the best of everythin
Oh ya well. If you have any issues whats so ever and you will there customer support will leave you hanging I know several people who went months without a phone. There famous for saying we will call ya back. Guess what it dont happen. Customer support is in India and they hate us as americans. So why does Walmart use them its totaly beyond me. FIX YOUR CUSTOMER CARE YOUR B.S. POST WILL NOT COVER YOUR LACK OF CARE!!!!!
@gunnguy12 Most people have been with Straight talk since they launched over a year ago like me and have had no trouble at all. If you have a problem go to their web site and look for help there...all call centres are overseas and it can be very frustrating sometimes but they don't hate Americans...it's probably a battle understanding our accents!
Straight talk offered the most valuable service for me for the cost. I wanted full service with internet and unlimited calling so I chose the no contract 45 dollar a month plan which was perfect for me. I will never go back to another contract!
I did the math and figured I could pay the cancellation fee on my contract in 4 months with the money I would be saving with Straight Talk so I did! A year down the track I'm saving $75.00 to $100.00 a month and I have unlimited calls, texts and data with not a worry in the world!
I feel totally ripped off paying my monthly cell phone bill which fluctuates between about $80 and $100 each month. With Straight Talk I would pay half of this and wouldn't have to worry about a thing because it is al unlimited - unlimited text, minutes and data for $45 a month. The Verizon network is also amazing so coverage and reception wouldn't be an issue..
Straight talk uses the Verizon network which is the most reliable network in the nation hands down. That is why I made the switch to ST because i was overpaying on my old contract phone. This truly is an investment that will save you money.
My kids had the best Christmas of their lives this year as they both got Straight Talk qwerty sliders with the unlimited talk, text and data plan and they're over the moon! They are both at college and always run out of airtime so it's going to be a pleasure not having them complaining they couldn't call home because they had no minutes left!
@ tomspeckle, the coverage is awesome! Its on the Verizon network so there is no need to worry about dropped calls! I bet your right about contract providers..they must not like the great deals you can get with straight talk.
Straight Talk is both on the Verizon and AT&T networks and it depends actually on what part of the country you live in and I think that is why their coverage area is so great across the country - they are using the main network of two huge carriers.
I can't believe the coverage is good as well??? and nationwide? I thought that was supposed to be one of the major benefits of being on a contract deal. I recon pre paid deals like the $45 unlimited Straight Talk deal must be giving contract providers a real ball ache!

I switched to Straight Talk about a year ago and have been loving their reliable service. For $45 a month I have the unlimited plan which includes unlimited text, talk, and web. I've never had a dropped call. And I love my Samsung T401G to death because of its QWERTY keypad which is great for texting.
Straight Talks gives you all you want and more. Savings, no contract, no hidden charges. At Walmart is the cellphone you are looking for, Straight talk. The plan of $30 a month has 1000 min. of talk, text, and 30mb of data plus free 411 calls. Switch today and save a lot.
At Walmart you will find Straight Talk and also savings for this Holiday Season. I was throwing my money away in other cellphone companies, and decided to switch. For $30 a month you have 1000min. talk, text, free 411 calls and 30 mb of data. It's just great to have peace and be relaxed. ST has no contract to sign and you will be glad you switch this Holiday.
Whenever I go over to Walmart I pick up a couple of Straight Talk wireless prepaid cards. I'm pretty sure that's the only place to buy them. Lemme tell you, these things are as cheap as they come. $45 for unlimited talk, text, and data and no contract.
Wow I love seeing all these fellow happy customers. This just goes to show all those miserable with their contracts that you don't have to take it anymore! With Christmas right around the corner, I was thinking of getting my niece the Samsung Finesse. I think she'd love the touchscreen, but I don't know much else about it. Can anyone who has it weigh in and tell me if they'd recommend it or not?
All I wanted is to save money. Am out of a job and spend much time at home, I did not have a cellphone then I read the comments and realize that I could even have my family purchase cellphones from Straight Talk and for $30 a month it gives you 1000 min. talk/text time 30 mb data, I did not have that before. My wife has the $45 a month plan since now she is working and needs to use it more often and the plan is unlimited. Thanks Walmart for the commercial on TV and Internet about this plans
@105100rafa It's true, saving money is the reason I got my Straight Talk to begin with, but not only all the amazing savings made my list. My phone is great! and the coverage is flawless, I never experienced a drop call. I think this could make a great gift for the holidays, savings, great phones and let's face it the green packaging is pretty cool too.
Straighttalk has changed my life for the better financially. Before I was on a contract phone which was costing me in excess of $80 a month. Now I pay
$45 and I get unlimited talk, text and data plus the service and reception has been first class
I have a straighttalk phone after switching from a contract phone. I was a little dubious about switching cause I thought that because straghttalk was so cheap ($45 for 30 days unlimited) that there was some catch in maybe the service or coverage. Well I was wrong and I have had superb service, no dropped calls and it is nationwide at no extra cost. Since switching I am saving money. everymonth

oh for sure. this is a great deal . youd think that with such a low price that the quality of the phone would be sucky.. but its the complete opposite. I live in north carolina and lets just say my town doesnt have the best service. With straight talk I have the samsung r450... my coverage is super strong. I know they go off verizon towers but compared to my friends... straight talk always have the strongest signal. not so bad that i'm paying half the price too!
45 bucks a month for unlimited minutes?! What a great deal. This really is a top of the line deal and with no contracts, no hidden fees, and no service charges! Amazing...
Reading all the comments on here it seems like most people are on the unlimited plan but i have to say as someone who doesnt really talk or text much im good with the $30 plan for now. I get 1000 minutes and 1000 texts and if i ever decide thats not enough (if i get a gf lol) then ill switch to the unlimited plan..pretty sweet that theres no contract so i can do so whenever i feel like it
It's gonna take a bit more investigating as i have to be sure i am making the right decision here but - $45 a month for unlimited texts, minutes and data?? sounds pretty amazing to me. definitley gonna pop into walmart and check this out over the weekend. would be great over the christmas holidays as well!
Ditching my contract and going with Straight Talk was the best move I've made in these hard times....the savings I've made have helped me pay off my credit cards and I'm well on the way to being debt free!
The ads states this is a real customer. YES and is real because I went and tried it myself. Straight Talk has no contract, unlimited features with the $45 a month plan, no dropped calls since the Verizon network is shared with Straight Talk you have crystal clear signal. The savings for this coming Holiday Season will mean a Happy Merry Holiday to celebrate with family, and extra cash in the bank. Is real, please try it today.
@greyfan53 A Merry Christmas is in store for all of us who are with Straight Talk and not on a contract!! So many more gifts and goodies on the shopping list this year for us with all the lovely money we've saved by going with Straight Talk and ditching our contracts!
@flycamper For sure a Merry one. Still I read comments here so negative that make me upset. Well, is their lost not ours right. My family is very happy with my switching I was spending $100 plus in cellphone bill alone, can you imagine compare to what I pay now? Happy Holidays to you and your family. What a relieve no contracts and more cash to share with holiday.
great unlimited plan from straight talk is what i got too. unlimited talk, text and data, free 411 calls and no worries about overloaded bills at monthend. great stuff, perfect plan for me, have to be outdoors a lot and depend on my cell phone and the fact that i am available at all times. with straight talk i have great reception and never a dropped call. this is me done
I got my Nokia E71 through Walmart with the Straight Talk plan (only uses the $45 unlimited option), I love the niffty 3.2 megapixel camera and music player. In my days we use to take a photo on a normal camera and take the spool in for developing, music was played on a radio.
I got a straight talk phone about 6 months ago and it was the best thing i've ever done! Huge savings, no dropped calls and no end of month surprise costs.. Love it!
I have had my straighttalk for months now. I switched from a contract phone to the straighttalk Unlimited for $45 a month. The service has been great and I have saved myself cash everymonth. Using this as a business phone I cannot aford to drop calls and none of my calls have been dropped while using Straighttalk - all in all I think that I made a really good business decision
Switch to Straight Talk Unlimited plan for business on the go. You will never dropped a call, will have great reception due to the fact that Straight Talk has the same tower of Verizon network, and they are known to be good but at a high monthly fee with contract. With Straight Talk, no contract, and unlimited everything. Is like you will never going back to the other company plans.
I'm going to start buying my xmas presents now so that there is no mad xmas rush and too much pressure on the budget. I'm buying the Straight Talk phones and $45 plans for my families stockings. I'd rather buy them a practical gift that saves them lots of money a month as opposed to using their existing contract phones. By the time they've used the $45/month unlimited 3 months in a row they would have paid off the contract cancellation fee and will then be saving about $50/month from then on
@brixvan The Nokia e71 sounds good but as I already have the Samsung Finesse from Straight Talk and I love it so much I won't be changing phones anytime soon! Man but I love being able to access the web from my phone and the EVDO service is right quick for a phone!
I also love the straight talk phone. I think it is a great phone and more bang for your buck service than any other wireless cellphone provider out there. The service is great and i have not dropped a single phone call since i got it!
Switch today to Straight Talk, you will save money and will have top of the line service, no drop calls, free 411 calls, what I like the most NO CONTRACT. Since Straight Talk is on the verizon network you can even receive service up in a mountain, down in a beautiful farm walking with your great Straight Talk Cellphone purchased at Walmart (only store been sold) but not for long.
The reception really has been such a major plus for me. I have not dropped a single call since I changed to Straight Talk and I am saving more than $50 each month!
I switched to straighttalk a few months ago and have never looked back. This is much cheaper than my contract phone and I dont have any dropped calls, reception and service are great too. For $45 a month I get unlimited talk, text and web time with no extra costs involved - Straighttalk will be my friend for life
So I switched to Straight Talk from AT&T like two months ago and I must say its pretty great. My buddy told me about it and he never seemed to worry about minutes and was always on the mobile web, and I asked him how much he paid per month and he said "45$." That was all it took, and I regret all the money I wasted on an expensive plan.
Since I got my straighttalk I have really saved money. With my previous server ther were all sorts of hidden costs in the contract and I cannot believe how many calls were dropped. For my $45 unlimited every month I really feel as though I am winning
I am so glad I watched this review- I recently switched to Straight Talk to cut back on my bills, and didn't know until now that it includes picture messaging as well! Thanks KindRoger. As if $30 a month for 1000 minutes, texts, 30 MB of data and no contract wasn't good enough already!
Straight Talk does it for me too. no dropped calls, anywhere i am. nationwide coverage with no extra charges for long distance just does it for me. i got on the $45 a month plan for unlimited talk, text and web access and am saving a lot of money every month. i suggest to anyone to switch from contract to Straight Talk prepaid. freedom at last
I changed 5 months ago and I've saved around $300 and never had a dropped call since I changed! Straight Talk really are awesome, don't know how they do it!
Stright Talk satisfies all my cell phone needs. I'm not entirely sure why anyone would ever be on a contract if they knew what Straight Talk could offer. $45 for unlimited calls, texts and data wiht amazing national coverage. Yip - that pretty much covers all bases I can think of that one looks for in a cell phone provider...
Straight talk has been amazing for me - $45 a month with unlimited talk, text and web time nationawide - WOW. The reception, coverage and service from straight talk are amazing as well Thank you to Straight talk for uncomplicating my life
Before I had the Straight Talk unlimited talk, text and data plan for $45.00 a month I could have gotten on my bike and left town when the mailman brought the cell phone bill...now I just wave at him!
if you are a business man i can advice this service strongly, i have only had the phone and service for 2 months, and i have saved money and alot of hassel, i can use the phone till my boss get so irratated he gives me the promotion, and it still only costs me $45.
@SimBarb1, Really don't need to worry bout coverage...Straight Talk uses the Verizon network, known to be one of the leading carriers in the States, and not only does Straight Talk offer national calls at no extra cost, but they can actually support these calls with phenomenal coverage. No hesitation...go Straight Talk!
i agree with roger, one of the best parts of Straight Talk is the fact that i know up front every month how much money i will have to spend on my phonecalls, no more nasty surprises when the phone bill arrives at monthend. the coverage via verizon has proven to be great, no dropped connections any more, never mind where i am.
Can't believe my contract is finally over...this guy makes me wonder why I ever went the contract route in the first place. Been reading bout Straight Talk's great unlimited plan for $45, but was still uncertain about the coverage. Pleased to see no complaints around about dropped calls. So it's a great saving with great coverage then?
straight talk has personally saved me close to $50 a month compared to my old phone service and I'm not using my phone ANY less! I get great service, the cards are available conveniently at Walmart, or online. Essentially I get the benefits of the Verizon network without the contractual agreement! Great deal.
The great coverage I enjoy is certainly one of the best advantages of using this plan. Straight Talk has been a saving grace for me during a tough time in my life. I started a new business and had to use my cell A LOT! If it wasn't for the $45 unlimited plan I would be a lot worse off. That $50 or so I saved per month came in very handy. If you've ever been that tight for money you'll know what I mean.

My kids are over the moon with their qwerty phones from Straight Talk and I'm over the moon with the $45.00 per month unlimited talk, text and data plans I got them as I'm saving a fortune!
I also got Straight Talk a few months ago, it was the best deal I could find! great phones, and unexpensive prepaid cards, and on the Verizon Network. I was so pleasseed with it that went ahead and got one for my girlfriend too!
This is a paid ad from Straight Talk, although I believe its not scripted. As with any prepaid service, they have to cut costs somewhere to be competitive. With many of them its with customer service. In relative terms Straight Talk is a great company, good coverage, great savings. So far they've been great, so I'm sticking with them.
@davidam60, this uses the Verizon network so the phones are all cdma. Although I have very recently read somewhere that AT&T is also planning to get on board with Straight Talk - which means gsm phones soon!
@KindRoger That is awesome I really think sim cards are the way to go because you can save a lot of data on them. You can always keep one for backup in case you lose ur phone. Ive been thinking about going with straight talk but cant figure out which model to get. Do you have any pointers?
haha look at the guy at 1:00 in the background. Im switching to simple mobile. its not cheaper but at least I can use my iphone and i can have internet too. all for 50 a month
Obviosly a paid advertisement. The companies only saving grace is it's partnership with it's carrier Verizon. Beginning to think some of these posters are fake as well. Check out ST on facebook and see all the misserable customers begging for help.
I have never saved so much on a phone contract i was amazed with the $45 unlimited everything contract and when i got it i was even more amazed with the coverage it has!
im switching from metro pcs they have horrible reception and i get dropped calls when i had an emergency and the battery runs out because the phone forces itself to find reception and this company uses verizon network
i love tracfone whenever i travel i have the best reception and i rag on my friends who maybe have one bar of signal while they pay $50 dollars more than me
BUYER BEWARE!!! I ordered 2 phones, 2 unlimited cards AND overnight shipping on 02/03/2010. It is now 02/10/2010 SEVEN days later and I don't have my phones, don't have my shipping info. The customer service is a JOKE, and completely un-helpful! SEVEN DAYS LATER and I have NOTHING but a reciept for where they TOOK ME for $800.33!!!!!!
So because you have to spend some extra time activating it isn't worth it? I will spend two weeks on the phone with customer service if I save 50 dollars or more a month every month. BTW, activation only took me 5 minutes. But even if it didn't I would gladly spend the one time activating my phone for years of cheap phone service. One week of hell for hundreds of dollars? people do more for less
I got the straight talk unlimited 3 months ago... i stumbled upon it at Wallmart, I got it just out of curiosity as I couldn't believe what a great offer it was. Since then I've cancelled my contract with At&t as i got better coverage with ST and saved around $80 a month!
This Straight Talk service have been saving me bucks for 5 months now. I decided to NOT sign a contract like usual and get one of these instead when my last contract expired.
So I went from paying more than a hundred dollars a month to paying just $45 for unlimited usage. So the last 5 months already meant more than $250 in my pocket.
I WILL NEVER sign a cell phone contract again!
Oh, and the service? It's great! As good and better than any other carrier.
I changed over to straight talk when my contract was running me broke with ridiculous extra charges.
Straight Talk has no contracts so I use as much as I need when I need. The Unlimited plan only costs me $45 monthly and I get Unlimited minutes, sms's and data. I also had a choice of 8 phone.. with a great variety from text to internet specific and don't forget that beautiful smart phone. I am sold.. get your self a Straight Talk phone.
Yea I got the lg290c from straight talk and now I have 2 problems I'm gonna have to call them about.
1-I signed up for the $30 plan. Now it's telling me i got 1800 minutes left, wtf I'm only signed up for the 1000 minutes.
2-My phone WILL NOT recieve calls from my mom's cell phone for SOME reason. It doesnt ring, doesnt say missed call, and it tells HER that i havent set up voicemail. WTF? Doesnt do that w/anyone else who calls me.
i dnt know if it is allowed but i had it working with my w385 when straight talk first came out last year, i dnt remember how i did it and i was on thw $30 1000min/txt 30mb of data plan, now im on page plus with a verizon intensity and on the 1200/1200 talk and txt plan woth 50mb for the same price and i can tether (dnt know if its technicly alowed or not) but all i had to do with the inensity was plug it in and make a new connection that diled #777
Straight Talk's deals are amazing - there has to be a catch surely? $45 for unlimited minutes, texts and data or $30 for 1000 minutes, texts and data. For $30 a month you have 1000min. talk, text, free 411 calls and 30 mb of data. It's just great to have peace and be relaxed. ST has no contract to sign and you will be glad you switch this Holiday.
crisyan53 1 year ago

@Refanatica so glad I switch and that I that am passing this great savings to others that listen. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Amazing...
Breakdownthefunk 1 year ago
Reading all the comments on here it seems like most people are on the unlimited plan but i have to say as someone who doesnt really talk or text much im good with the $30 plan for now. I get 1000 minutes and 1000 texts and if i ever decide thats not enough (if i get a gf lol) then ill switch to the unlimited plan..pretty sweet that theres no contract so i can do so whenever i feel like it
JoeyDubbz85 1 year ago
It's gonna take a bit more investigating as i have to be sure i am making the right decision here but - $45 a month for unlimited texts, minutes and data?? sounds pretty amazing to me. definitley gonna pop into walmart and check this out over the weekend. would be great over the christmas holidays as well!

Ditching my contract and going with Straight Talk was the best move I've made in these hard times....the savings I've made have helped me pay off my credit cards and I'm well on the way to being debt free!

The ads states this is a real customer. YES and is real because I went and tried it myself. I got my Nokia E71 through Walmart with the Straight Talk plan (only uses the $45 unlimited option), I love the niffty 3.2 megapixel camera and music player. In my days we use to take a photo on a normal camera and take the spool in for developing, music was played on a radio.

SuperZone40 1 year ago

Stright Talk satisfies all my cell phone needs. I'm not entirely sure why anyone would ever be on a contract if they knew what Straight Talk could offer. $45 for unlimited calls, texts and data wiht amazing national coverage. if you are a business man i can advice this service strongly, i have only had the phone and service for 2 months, and i have saved money and alot of hassel, i can use the phone till my boss get so irratated he gives me the promotion, and it still only costs me $45.

Carpenom 1 year ago
i agree with roger, one of the best parts of Straight Talk is the fact that i know up front every month how much money i will have to spend on my phonecalls, no more nasty surprises when the phone bill arrives at monthend. the coverage via verizon has proven to be great, no dropped connections any more, never mind where i am.
babuschka42 1 year ago
