I just cant stand the way this mixer has the EQ's at the top and the aux sends at the bottom. We have our fingers on the EQ constantly when mixing and writing, but not on the aux sends. So why on earth is it deemed logical to put the EQ knobs where their less easy to adjust fluently. Its not just Mackie, there are many desks doing this illogical format. A real shame as I would have considered this desk.
i want to get this mixer for my rap band i have abelton live and i want a daw controller to control the sliders on the screen so it will adjust the volumes will this work??
I can mix with tracktor and listen deck A and deck B indepedent, i ask that beacuse i need a mixer for live sound and record but also i have to mix with tracktor or other dj software! thank you!!
Can the onyx mixers be used as a control surface for DAWS? I'm alittle confused with that lol. All I want to do is move a fader and have the fader in Sonar move with it...Or do I need something like the U control, or Project Mix, etc? Thank you.
We tink it's a bit overpriced. it does not have effects or scenes saving. for four hundred more you can get the presonus 16 4 2. this is similar the zed r16. not having scene recall is a big buzz kill!
hi there. Can you help me. I bought mackie 1640. I'm new recording. when recording two channels for example .... I hear those two channels and Iwant record another channel .. I can not hear it all together .. as I do? please help
hi rev gud day i dnt know much of the recording...when u record tru computer would it effect the volume i set up with the computer if i slide some controls up or down please any video u have re recording im very interested of buying this prouduct my plan is to do a live band recording plesae advise tnx...
@daxtracy Your gain control at the top of each channel will effect the volume going into your software, the faders; depending on how you've got it set up will just increase in volume through your speakers, but won't affect the level going into your software.
Hmmm, at the gig recording I think the DAW inputs aren't set up correctly-- at 5:22 it looks like all tracks are recording the same single mic. All the waveforms are identical! Ooops.
yeah i was wondering if the faders are automated. somehow i doubt it otherwise you'd think they'd have shown that particular feature off... how much does this thing cost?
I have 2 words for you: tripod, and focus. Other than that, not a bad video.

@ditroiamusic No, they can't. To do that, you'll need a DAW controller.

I'm curious about your session setup in Pro Tools. Could you set it up to record at higher than 48kHz sample rates?
duuuhhh 1 year ago
@duuuhhh
Yes, up to 96kHz if your DAW supports it.
