Why coulden't we watch this serie in the educational program in school?.
focus on living in harmony with nature, on any true magical, mystical, or shamanic or faith path its not us who 'have' the powers, power cannot be owned, no more than land can be owned, we can only harmonize ourselves with it, align your ego with the spirit of all things so that your processes are both the same, and it will give the appearance you have power,
but it actually just comes from flowing with the universe 'floating downstream' aligned with the greatest all is amplified greatly, but theres no way to circumvent it for something which goes against it (though you may feel like you are, it is you who will have been fooled), thats why existence/nonexistence doesnt break and why there is the notion 'tao
similarly when we do this, we are able to percieve the infinite nature of the earth, whereas when we do not, we feel we are a huge parasite and we must struggle or there will be no hope, and it causes much stress, this is a side effect of our bland and repressive mundane society. but there are processes going much deeper,
which no government understands, in terms of our spiritual relation to the planet, we are smaller than we think, but if we disrespect Her our ego, self centeredness enlarges and it doesnt matter how small we are we will fade away and feel we are in the desert, but when we respect her, the Earth expands for us, this i have witnessed myself its a truth.
Personally, I believe that there is a creator somewhere. Even though, I regard him as a cold-hearted geek simulating our world within his own (way more) complex world and measuring how intelligent life comes to pass given a certain set of physical laws. Feel free to disagree.
@coderodion I agree, however I view this 'creator' as not a god, but simply a higher power. May it be another creature or being, or aliens. I just don't like the word 'god'.
Extraterrestrials, The Very Secret of Life and the Truth Wich We All Deserve..
This has been hidden away from us since our very Existence, through subliminal, Manipulation-Mass Hypnosis, Just filthy lies of our so called leaders and rigid believe systems. I find this bubble ( the world) of Currency, Ego, Limits, Lies, War, Death and Destruction really a Tragic System to live in while We All Have The Opportunity To Make This Sick place of disorder&Death the paradise we've always wanted it to be.
"But knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth then a reasurring fate. If we crave some cosmic purpose then let us find ourselves a worthy goal."
"Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring fable"...This one statement sums up everything. The fear of dying and no life after death, the people who are so consumed by this fear that they worship invisible and man-made characters, and how our tenacity for life pushes us to believe in this religious fiction.
ATTENTION:(TheRationalizer) - Your 'threat by proxy' was an immature excuse to remove yourself from the discourse without an acceptance of defeat! Run like a chicken you self proclaimed Atheist, but I defeated you 'fair and square'. Your use of the 'F' word and then blocking me was bad form and infantile! --WEAK-- ! !
We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces. - Carl Sagan
@Polybun Not every religious person is willingly ignorant & vice versa. But part of being human is understanding the world through subjective sense. We aren't machines. Does your life feel that worthless and pointless? Get a hobby. I do all sorts of things to pass the time and not dwell on the question of whether or not there is meaning to my life outside my own mind. Basically, all I can see is that you've taken positions on a few philosophical questions. Don't condemn others for it.
Not understanding how something works, does not mean God did it either. The fact is that more and more religious dogmas are being disproved by knowledge. It's impossible to prove that something which not exist, doesn't exist. But If you look at what religions say, and what we now know to be true, about history of our species and history of the earth, religious explanations have been way off.
@Kelztje That's because you are a weak, sad, pathetic man, that chooses not to be a man, but forever remain a child. Your life is a lie, pointless, useless, and void of all redeaming qualities. You reject the very thing that makes you human. Congradulations, you have chosen to be nothing more than a stupid animal.
@Kelztje It has none, and I'm perfectly ok with that. Life doesn't need a meaning. Anyone looking for meaning in life clearly has missed the point of life in the first place, which is simply, to live. Filling your life full of lies, and false hoods just means that meaning is just as false. You have made your already pointless existence into a lie. Again, you have reject all that makes you human, and chosen to live as a dumb animal.
Humans are always seeking purpose, it is our nature, and a big part of 'living'. To reject the search for purpose is not a common human characteristic, so I believe you are the one rejecting humanity here. Kelztje strongly believes he has found his purpose in Christianity. If I hunger for food, maybe its because I can find food and eat. If I crave for purpose in life, maybe its because there is a purpose? To say that there is no purpose is a bold and asinine assumption.
@u3190 What you are missing here is that, just because many people do it, doesn't mean anything. Many people fall into the delusion that is religion for example. Anyone that believes they have "discovered their purpose in life" is delusional. Atheist or theist, they are delusional. Searching for purpose, is no more than dangerous genetic baggage. I hereditary predisposition found in many, and in almost all of those, a major character flaw. Those that find comfort in lies should be put down
@Polybun Luckily for us, you don't get to decide who lives and who dies. Life has no inherent meaning. We make our own purpose in life. You go and say life has no meaning and then you say the point is to just live. While that may be okay for you, others may want to spend their time helping people or advancing science or creating art. Life is inherently meaningless so that we may fill the void with whatever we choose. It's the only way our lives can be truly ours.
@buggerwho12 Yes well, those people aren't religous, not the ones that matter and are actually doing new and interesting things. At this point, the religous actively try to retard science, art, and music. It's not filling the void, it's passing the time. They deserve to die just to protect the freedom science and art both need to flourish.
@Polybun I think saying they should all die is going too far. Those who antagonize science and art for whatever reason have always been around, but science and art advanced despite them.
And I think making blanket statements about the religious is unfair. I'm religious, though I follow an unconventional one. My purpose is independent of my faith. I'm not trying to stand in the way of science. I actually want to advance it. I want to be a novelist and a biologist. Can't I have faith too?
@buggerwho12 Why should you have faith in anything? It's stupid, and the only path it leads to is failure. Never have faith, always have knowledge. Faith is nothing more than willing ignorance. If it were a logical act, backed by facts, you would have knowledge rather than faith. With faith you actively ignore logic. Willing ignorance is one of the most disgusting traits any human can exhibit.
@Polybun I don't know everything, but I'm not going to pretend I don't have ideas about the things I don't know. I follow the religion that best fits my ideas on how the universe works. I'm not saying I'll stop looking for answers and if something proves me wrong, I'll adjust my position. I'm not forcing anyone to believe what I believe and I'm not claiming to be absolutely correct. It's just my guess based on what I already know about the universe.
@buggerwho12 having an idea is fine, ideas can change. Having a religion is another matter, i tells you how to interpet the world, and usually falsely so. So you don't have ideas, you have emotions. You are having an emotional outburst, not an idea.
It could be you don't really have any faith at all, or religion. You just aren't willing to face the sociatal stigmata of admitting to being atheist. Stop being a pussy, and make that leap.
@Polybun I'm not an atheist. I believe in a God and Goddess that are both real beings and personifications of abstract concepts. I believe that all matter in the entire universe is formed from the same substance at the most basic level. I believe that this one substance has always and always will exist. I believe it is sentient and what we'd call "God". I believe souls animate physical matter and give it consciousness.
If I'm an atheist, then Richard Dawkins is the Jewish Messiah.
@buggerwho12 Then you are a fucking idiot, and a worthless piece of shit. You have filled your head full of lies, and will not let those lies go because if you did, it would make you uncomfortable. You will accept lies over facts, just to comfort yourself. That makes you a piece of shit.
@Polybun I see you have regressed to name calling and now this discussion is over. I hope someday you'll overcome your close-mindedness and illogical hatred of people you don't know. May your path bring you fulfillment and happiness, whatever it may be.
@buggerwho12 May you die in a fire and take you stone age beliefs and willing ignorance with you. There is nothing illogical about hating religion. In fact this entire discussion has layed out several very good reasons not to accept ANY religion or anyone that has one.
If you look around this planet and see the work of a god, then you aren't looking nearly hard enough.
If anyone is interested in reading COSMOS, they have re-issued a 30th anniversary edition(hardcover) and it can now be purchased for 5$ online at chapters.indigo.ca
Great price, great book, should be mandatory reading for all juniors high school students in the world.
I wouldn't say that anyone who believes in religion is stupid or bad but they simply are scared. now this is hardly an insult. Many people are scared of many things. hardly anyone is scared of nothing. some people simply fear things like the dark or insects. Then some fear that there is no one watching and caring for us or deciding what is right or wrong. those of us who don't believe simply lack this fear. an this fear only becomes a problem when it gets in the way of doing the right thing
@Polybun the fear that is created by religion is a fear that has been forced upon them since childhood. It was forced upon them by their friends and loved ones for all their life, the ones they trust most. it is not easy to forget something like that.
@chrisgray27 You don't need to forget it, in fact it's best not too. That's what will lead you to the truth of religion the quickest. The truth of religion of course being, it exists only to control people. I grew in a "christian" home. Granted, not the most christian, but I would call it typically (and hypocritically) christian. I gained knowledge, saw the religion for the flith it was, and changed my ideas. I never had any faith, just ideas.
@dave2332 I'm with you on your comment....we only have our perspective to go on. How we grew up and what our minds decided was truth is what we've in turn made our own judgements. I'm one of the people who believe that God is real and is a spirit. In my opinion, the holy texts should be cherished and do tell the truth...just my opinion though..
@SuperCodeman23 Too bad you and your moronic ilk don't treat it as opinion. As you are constantly trying to make your "opinions" laws. Always trying to make sure that we can all feel gods "love", which so far as I can tell, his love is "do as your told and praise my name and no one elses or I will torture you with fire for all eternity." It doesn't seem like any kind of love to me at all, and if it is, it's so horredously conditional it's clear that your "god" is nothing but an asshole.
The Old Lady’s TORTOISE (Hinduism) and DRAGON (Taoism) are symbols for WAVE (energy), both are analog with MAGEN DAVID (Judaism). "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is the metaphor, and also similar with allegory of rituals Thawaf circling around the Ka'ba and Sa’i oscillating along “the sinus” Marwah-Shafa during the Hajj pilgrimage (Abraham). YIN-YANG: energy-particle . CROSS (Christian) and SWASTIKA (Buddhism) are symbols for “Balance of Nature.”
'God' is just a word. What is important is the connection the word makes to the concept in our minds. The concept of 'God' is different to everyone and is based on one's personal experience of the world. When you say "God" what it means to you is not communicated. Some people believe that God is simply reality, others believe it is a being, others believe all sorts of strange things. Mystery is the nature of existence it seems. The only thing I am certain about: nothing is certain.
@dave2332 There is something you can be certain about when it comes to god. If one does exist, then it is an asshole. If there is a god, it is cruel, manipulative and tries it's friends over the most trivial things, with the highest stakes. If there is a god, you owe it nothing more than a punch in the eye.
@Polybun To me, it seems unlikely that there is an all-knowing, all-seeing being in charge of the universe. Supposing there is, he might be an asshole, he might have just fucked up the recipe. Who doesn't make mistakes? I can't really argue one way or the other on that one. I don't know if it would have ocular cavities either. But if I meet him/her/it I'll keep it in mind.
@dave2332 Making a mistake is one thing, refusing to fix your mistakes is another. If there is a god, it's an asshole. The simple answer is of course, there clearly isn't one, and god is nothing more than mass delusion.
@Polybun If we had the answer, do you think it would be simple? I'm not talking about organized religion. If there were any certain answer about this, these conversations wouldn't be happening. We humans like having answers whether it is the certain belief that there is a god or the certain belief that there isn't. I seems like some people are uncomfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
@dave2332 there is a certainty to all of this. There is NO proof of an existance of any god. Isn't there. You don't beleive things without any proof. People uncomfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty deserve nothing but death. It's those types of people that turn to religion, and ruin the world.
@Polybun The way you say that makes you no better than the religious zealots contenting the opposite. There is NO proof that anyone deserves anything. There is NO proof about God one way or the other. We humans can't even agree on what the word means. Don't take yourself so seriously.
@buggerwho12 The internet is full of personalities like this. People who hide behind anonymity and attempt to elict negative reactions from others. I usually don't engage but I guess I'm bored.
@dave2332 The difference is, I'm only asking people to make decisions based on available facts. You don't need proof one way or the other. In science, a complete and total lack of evidence means it does not exist. There is no evidence of a god, so it doesn't exist. If there is a god, you have to explain how god was created. That alone means there is no god as you must explain how god was created.
I don't take myself seriously, I take freedom and liberty seriously, which religion tramples.
@Polybun Yes, in a scientific sense, there is no evidence of a god but that is the study of objective reality. Much of a person's personal beliefs are rooted in subjective experience of the world. The question of whether or not there is a god won't be answered by science. Just because there is no objective evidence for the meaning of my life doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. I've created that meaning for myself but it is subjective and based on my own experience.
@dave2332 Yes, I see. People like him are indeed a dangerous and persistent enemy. Yet I sense much potential in him, much darkness. If he could be turned, he may yet prove a powerful ally...
@dave2332 Don't bother with Polybun. He's just a troll trying to rile you up. Besides, if he was sincere about what he's saying, there's really no use trying to reason with him. He's advocating genocide against religious people! What do you say to that?
@buggerwho12 It's not genocide at all, it's holding people responsible for their choices. Genocide is persecution against a people for something they are born with. You are not born with religion, you choose religion. To me, it's deciding to support murderers, liars and thieves. You choose to support an evil force.
@Polybun Young fool. You do not yet realize that you've already taken the first steps down the Dark Path of Theism. Listen to yourself with your absolute certainty, your justification of your genocidal intents, your refusal to see your hated enemies as anything more than animals. All of these are the demesne of the the Evil Theists.
Don't be afraid. Make the jump. There is power in this dark path and I can show you way. Under my guidance, you will become more powerful than you can imagine.
I always felt bad for the pple who devote their life to "god". they waist their life going to church which was created my man and reading old books, instead of making a difference in the world. Ive come to think that pple can only do good because they r afraid to go to "hell" or because someone (god) tells them to do good. y can't pple do good without a god or religion, its human nature to be selfish. Not only this but physics can explain how the universe was created a "god" is not needed
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL well in that sense ur right, a god exists everywhere but god in the form of a force or nature that made us into what we are. To me "god" is not a being, its a universal force that made us. Humans need to believe in a god that looks like us because they would be lost in this lonely universe, were we dont know who we are or where we come from, we want to believe in something... iIf dogs and cats could talk and right their god would be dogs and cats.
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL if u was born not where u was born now, but some place there was no religion , then u never knew about a God.... wake up , there is no freaking God .. stop admiring something u cant see and what was written 2000 years ago when people thought the earth was flat and start paying attention on whats clearly visible and reachable
My friend, it does not really matter whether I individually believe in God or not. Its like saying that there is no pain in my ear, because u cannot see or feel it.
Do you think that these billions of Galaxies, the beauty in morning sun, milk in a mothers breasts and the blood in our body are all happening on its own? These things require heavy engineering with an artistic touch. Whoever is behind this, is an extraordinary scientist and an artist as well. Dont you agree???
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL the person who does the heavy engineering with an artistic touch ... is what we call time and evolution .. i have 13 series of Carl Sagan all 1 hour each on my youtube channel , watch them ...
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL Then how was god created? We can explain how planets, stars, us, were created. The ONLY thing we lack is an under standing of the very start. So saying god made it all explains nothing, because you then have to explain how god was created. It's illogical, and dangerous.
Let us assume that you do not have a mother and you just appeared by magic somehow. Because if you have or had a mother, then we would have to go back the path in time where your mother have had her own mother and so on and on back in time. Finally we would of course reach a point of the begining of this cycle of thousands of years.
If you agree that there is a begining to this, then u will have to accept that the universe has a begining and that is GOD.
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL absolute rubbish. Life doesn't need a god to start. Evolution is the explanation, and evolution includes more than just life. Environments, matter, and energy itself changes and evolves. There is a beginning, but that beginning is the big bang, the burst of energy that born our entire reality into existance. Sure, at this time we can't explain those first few milliseconds, but that does not mean there is a god. I share 90% of my dna with bacteria, that is no accident.
If somone dies, can he be brougt back to life by rectifying all his life elements?
This can be done in the case of machines. These are not easy questions to answer. In the same way, millions of things we take for granted around us are the work of a highly efficient order that has been provided by some higher intelligence. GOD.
Always remember, everything around us cannot be by accident. If u think so, then there is no difference between u and a buffalo who does not realise this fact.
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL His elements are recycled. Goes into the ground, ends ups as part of some other animal. So in a way, yes, you can bring someone back to life. It's not the same person, but that is just a matter of chance.
I have no qualms with a buffalo, why should I have a problem with them? In fact I find them rather fascinating and their demise thanks to man is rather sad. Life is not an accident, but it does happen by chance. You fail to understand the difference, graduate highschool.
For those who don't believe in God, I think you may have not done enough research on it. Every culture of the world tells the same basic story, that long long ago, entities of some unnatural kind came here out of the sky and helped civilization. The story of Christ is reflected in many other cultures, American indian tribes have the Lone Man, Osiris is the same story. It would seem long ago these supernatural events took place and have been remembered and cherished by the people of Earth.
The elite think they have found something new Atheism, how dumb can u be to see the natural world around u and not use basic logic, that every thing in the natural world had to come from some where. God is not bound by space time or matter, i mean how do u all think we got here or did u create the universe.
@justryingz yes everything must have comed from somewhere, at this time we don't know the answer, but saying a god did it, doesn't answer the question either, because you are just making an assumption, it's just as valid if i said that we were created by aliens and we are some kind of alien experiment. unless you can really prove that a god had anything to do with the universe you are just making an assumption. Atheist just say that we don't know everything, but god is not the logical answer.
@bombarderoazul So u agree every thing had to come from some where, but this somewhere must be infinite and unique and singular. And if it wasn't then it also must have come form some where. So do u now understand, be open minded, cause many athiest look down on the rest,
@bombarderoazul I vote your answer the best!!! It's impartial and totally logical. I've tried to reason with religios ppl who get all emotional and offended for nothing! I've come to the conclusion that it's best not to debate with them as they really are in a state of delusion. I asked them if God was so great, why can't He restore the leg of an army man who lost his in battle and guess what? Answer: God only heals the blind. Hahahaha!
@tonymoey Okay, I'll take a whack at the question. My reason for believing that miracles like that do not happen is because if it did, then God would have to do that for all people, lest She play favorites. War is an action chosen by humans and the consequences of evil are our responsibility to solve, not God's. So what shall we do for this soldier? Surely use our natural curiosity about the universe to develop a treatment for him. There is no problem too great for the human mind to solve.
Ok so say evelution is real. (it's not). But if it were real who the fuck created the very first cell that evolved? Fuck evolution god created the UNIVERSE!!!! those who don't believe in God you you better turn to him or you will suffer for an eternity. And an eternity is a long time.
@zkaiache What a well-thought-out philosophical position. That you were able to condense all that rigorous intellectual activity into such a short comment is nothing short of astonishing!
@callumCGLP...he's looking up "philosophical position" and rigorous!! great vids Callum. The sad part is they think this video is a blasphemy toward a "god" or "Gods"...Damn!!!
I don't think "reason behind evolution" is an accurate term, evolution is just a result of natural chemical processes reacting to an environment. It would be nice if there were a god, but there simply is no "god concept" that is rational or logical. Probably the best thing is to just getting over the absence of god. No one ever needed him anyway.
sorry about that...what i meant to say was ...did you see adam and eve at 6:50? they had belly buttons. adam and eve were created by God and were the first. why would they have belly buttons?

"Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring fable"...This one statement sums up everything. The fear of dying and no life after death, the people who are so consumed by this fear that they worship invisible and man-made characters, and how our tenacity for life pushes us to believe in this religious fiction.

Don't condemn others for it.
dave2332 5 months ago 2
Not understanding how something works, does not mean God did it either. The fact is that more and more religious dogmas are being disproved by knowledge. It's impossible to prove that something which not exist, doesn't exist. But If you look at what religions say, and what we now know to be true, about history of our species and history of the earth, religious explanations have been way off.

shadowreaver23 6 months ago
@Kelztje That's because you are a weak, sad, pathetic man, that chooses not to be a man, but forever remain a child. Your life is a lie, pointless, useless, and void of all redeaming qualities. You reject the very thing that makes you human. Congradulations, you have chosen to be nothing more than a stupid animal.
Polybun 6 months ago
@Polybun My life is pointless??.....no, being a christian gives my life a purpose and meaning, Whats the purpose of your life i wonder.
Kelztje 6 months ago
@Kelztje It has none, and I'm perfectly ok with that. Life doesn't need a meaning. Anyone looking for meaning in life clearly has missed the point of life in the first place, which is simply, to live. Filling your life full of lies, and false hoods just means that meaning is just as false. You have made your already pointless existence into a lie. Again, you have reject all that makes you human, and chosen to live as a dumb animal.
Polybun 6 months ago
@Polybun
To say that there is no purpose is a bold and asinine assumption.
u3190 5 months ago
@u3190 What you are missing here is that, just because many people do it, doesn't mean anything. Many people fall into the delusion that is religion for example. Anyone that believes they have "discovered their purpose in life" is delusional. Atheist or theist, they are delusional. Searching for purpose, is no more than dangerous genetic baggage. I hereditary predisposition found in many, and in almost all of those, a major character flaw. Those that find comfort in lies should be put down
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun Luckily for us, you don't get to decide who lives and who dies. Life has no inherent meaning. We make our own purpose in life. You go and say life has no meaning and then you say the point is to just live. While that may be okay for you, others may want to spend their time helping people or advancing science or creating art. Life is inherently meaningless so that we may fill the void with whatever we choose. It's the only way our lives can be truly ours.
buggerwho12 5 months ago
@buggerwho12 Yes well, those people aren't religous, not the ones that matter and are actually doing new and interesting things. At this point, the religous actively try to retard science, art, and music. It's not filling the void, it's passing the time. They deserve to die just to protect the freedom science and art both need to flourish.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun I think saying they should all die is going too far. Those who antagonize science and art for whatever reason have always been around, but science and art advanced despite them.
And I think making blanket statements about the religious is unfair. I'm religious, though I follow an unconventional one. My purpose is independent of my faith. I'm not trying to stand in the way of science. I actually want to advance it. I want to be a novelist and a biologist. Can't I have faith too?
buggerwho12 5 months ago
@buggerwho12 Why should you have faith in anything? It's stupid, and the only path it leads to is failure. Never have faith, always have knowledge. Faith is nothing more than willing ignorance. If it were a logical act, backed by facts, you would have knowledge rather than faith. With faith you actively ignore logic. Willing ignorance is one of the most disgusting traits any human can exhibit.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun I don't know everything, but I'm not going to pretend I don't have ideas about the things I don't know. I follow the religion that best fits my ideas on how the universe works. I'm not saying I'll stop looking for answers and if something proves me wrong, I'll adjust my position. I'm not forcing anyone to believe what I believe and I'm not claiming to be absolutely correct. It's just my guess based on what I already know about the universe.
buggerwho12 5 months ago
@buggerwho12 having an idea is fine, ideas can change. Having a religion is another matter, i tells you how to interpet the world, and usually falsely so. So you don't have ideas, you have emotions. You are having an emotional outburst, not an idea.
It could be you don't really have any faith at all, or religion. You just aren't willing to face the sociatal stigmata of admitting to being atheist. Stop being a pussy, and make that leap.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun I'm not an atheist. I believe in a God and Goddess that are both real beings and personifications of abstract concepts. I believe that all matter in the entire universe is formed from the same substance at the most basic level. I believe that this one substance has always and always will exist. I believe it is sentient and what we'd call "God". I believe souls animate physical matter and give it consciousness.
If I'm an atheist, then Richard Dawkins is the Jewish Messiah.
buggerwho12 5 months ago

I wouldn't say that anyone who believes in religion is stupid or bad but they simply are scared. now this is hardly an insult. Many people are scared of many things. hardly anyone is scared of nothing. some people simply fear things like the dark or insects. Then some fear that there is no one watching and caring for us or deciding what is right or wrong. those of us who don't believe simply lack this fear. an this fear only becomes a problem when it gets in the way of doing the right thing
chrisgray27 6 months ago
@chrisgray27 Someone that scared is stupid and bad. People that live in fear are a waste of flesh.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun the fear that is created by religion is a fear that has been forced upon them since childhood. It was forced upon them by their friends and loved ones for all their life, the ones they trust most. it is not easy to forget something like that.
chrisgray27 3 months ago
@chrisgray27 You don't need to forget it, in fact it's best not too. That's what will lead you to the truth of religion the quickest. The truth of religion of course being, it exists only to control people. I grew in a "christian" home. Granted, not the most christian, but I would call it typically (and hypocritically) christian. I gained knowledge, saw the religion for the flith it was, and changed my ideas. I never had any faith, just ideas.

@SuperCodeman23 Too bad you and your moronic ilk don't treat it as opinion. As you are constantly trying to make your "opinions" laws. GOD - Philosophia Perennis and Science.
TatoSugiarto 6 months ago
'God' is just a word. What is important is the connection the word makes to the concept in our minds. The concept of 'God' is different to everyone and is based on one's personal experience of the world. When you say "God" what it means to you is not communicated. Some people believe that God is simply reality, others believe it is a being, others believe all sorts of strange things. Mystery is the nature of existence it seems. The only thing I am certain about: nothing is certain.
dave2332 6 months ago
@dave2332 There is something you can be certain about when it comes to god. If one does exist, then it is an asshole. If there is a god, it is cruel, manipulative and tries it's friends over the most trivial things, with the highest stakes. If there is a god, you owe it nothing more than a punch in the eye.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun To me, it seems unlikely that there is an all-knowing, all-seeing being in charge of the universe. Supposing there is, he might be an asshole, he might have just fucked up the recipe. Who doesn't make mistakes? I can't really argue one way or the other on that one. I don't know if it would have ocular cavities either. But if I meet him/her/it I'll keep it in mind.
dave2332 5 months ago
@dave2332 Making a mistake is one thing, refusing to fix your mistakes is another. If there is a god, it's an asshole. The simple answer is of course, there clearly isn't one, and god is nothing more than mass delusion.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun If we had the answer, do you think it would be simple? I'm not talking about organized religion. If there were any certain answer about this, these conversations wouldn't be happening. We humans like having answers whether it is the certain belief that there is a god or the certain belief that there isn't. I seems like some people are uncomfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
dave2332 5 months ago
@dave2332 there is a certainty to all of this. There is NO proof of an existance of any god. Isn't there. You don't beleive things without any proof. People uncomfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty deserve nothing but death. It's those types of people that turn to religion, and ruin the world.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun The way you say that makes you no better than the religious zealots contenting the opposite. There is NO proof that anyone deserves anything. There is NO proof about God one way or the other. We humans can't even agree on what the word means. Don't take yourself so seriously.
@buggerwho12 The internet is full of personalities like this. People who hide behind anonymity and attempt to elict negative reactions from others. I usually don't engage but I guess I'm bored.
dave2332 5 months ago
@dave2332 The difference is, I'm only asking people to make decisions based on available facts. You don't need proof one way or the other. In science, a complete and total lack of evidence means it does not exist. There is no evidence of a god, so it doesn't exist. If there is a god, you have to explain how god was created. That alone means there is no god as you must explain how god was created.
I don't take myself seriously, I take freedom and liberty seriously, which religion tramples.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun Yes, in a scientific sense, there is no evidence of a god but that is the study of objective reality. Much of a person's personal beliefs are rooted in subjective experience of the world. The question of whether or not there is a god won't be answered by science. Just because there is no objective evidence for the meaning of my life doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. I've created that meaning for myself but it is subjective and based on my own experience.

buggerwho12 5 months ago
@buggerwho12 It's not genocide at all, it's holding people responsible for their choices. Genocide is persecution against a people for something they are born with. You are not born with religion, you choose religion. To me, it's deciding to support murderers, liars and thieves. You choose to support an evil force.
Polybun 5 months ago
@Polybun Young fool. You do not yet realize that you've already taken the first steps down the Dark Path of Theism. Listen to yourself with your absolute certainty, your justification of your genocidal intents, your refusal to see your hated enemies as anything more than animals. All of these are the demesne of the the Evil Theists.
Don't be afraid. Make the jump. There is power in this dark path and I can show you way. Under my guidance, you will become more powerful than you can imagine.

Are you sure that the Universe does not require a God.
I personally believe, that God is present in everything and is everywhere.
Just by not being able to see him, does not mean that God does not exist.
IAMTHERUSTYNAIL 6 months ago
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL well in that sense ur right, a god exists everywhere but god in the form of a force or nature that made us into what we are. To me "god" is not a being, its a universal force that made us. Humans need to believe in a god that looks like us because they would be lost in this lonely universe, were we dont know who we are or where we come from, we want to believe in something... iIf dogs and cats could talk and right their god would be dogs and cats.

Hindu Ved and Gita have lot of info on God. Acc. to it, God is everything. It is Supreme Mother of all.
Hinduism supports the fact that other than 6 senses, mind is 7th, intelligence 8th & Faith in God is 9th sense in a complete human.
Faith is superior to inteligence which is superior to mind. In that sense a priest is superior to Doctor who in turn is superior to artist.

IAMTHERUSTYNAIL 5 months ago
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL the person who does the heavy engineering with an artistic touch ... is what we call time and evolution .. i have 13 series of Carl Sagan all 1 hour each on my youtube channel , watch them ...
roughneckghost 5 months ago
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL Then how was god created? We can explain how planets, stars, us, were created. The ONLY thing we lack is an under standing of the very start. So saying god made it all explains nothing, because you then have to explain how god was created. It's illogical, and dangerous.
Polybun 5 months ago 2
@Polybun
OK. Lets take it this way.
IAMTHERUSTYNAIL 5 months ago
@IAMTHERUSTYNAIL absolute rubbish. Life doesn't need a god to start. Evolution is the explanation, and evolution includes more than just life. Environments, matter, and energy itself changes and evolves. There is a beginning, but that beginning is the big bang, the burst of energy that born our entire reality into existance. Sure, at this time we can't explain those first few milliseconds, but that does not mean there is a god. I share 90% of my dna with bacteria, that is no accident.

@Polybun
IAMTHERUSTYNAIL 5 months ago

God is not bound by space time or matter, i mean how do u all think we got here or did u create the universe.
justryingz 6 months ago
@justryingz yes everything must have comed from somewhere, at this time we don't know the answer, but saying a god did it, doesn't answer the question either, because you are just making an assumption, it's just as valid if i said that we were created by aliens and we are some kind of alien experiment. unless you can really prove that a god had anything to do with the universe you are just making an assumption. Atheist just say that we don't know everything, but god is not the logical answer.
bombarderoazul 6 months ago 2
@bombarderoazul So u agree every thing had to come from some where, but this somewhere must be infinite and unique and singular. And if it wasn't then it also must have come form some where. So do u now understand, be open minded, cause many athiest look down on the rest,

tonymoey 6 months ago
@tonymoey Okay, I'll take a whack at the question. My reason for believing that miracles like that do not happen is because if it did, then God would have to do that for all people, lest She play favorites. War is an action chosen by humans and the consequences of evil are our responsibility to solve, not God's. So what shall we do for this soldier? Surely use our natural curiosity about the universe to develop a treatment for him. There is no problem too great for the human mind to solve.

@cletusthefetus4 Everyone must start somewhere. From The Backbone of Night:
"In our personal lives also, we journey from ignorance to knowledge. Our individual growth reflects the advancement of the species."
We were all ignorant at one point or another. The important thing is that you eventually take steps to change that.

Carl Sagan in my opinion was the single most important person who ever lived and I regret never never being able to meet him.
