you are partially correct but not entirely the war was fought because of slavery, was fought because the north was moving ahead and becoming more of a modern north (had payed jobs + manufacturing + railroads etc...) while the south remained the same keeping the plantation system and focusing on crops like cotton instead of moving on and changing with the times. @UruguayKnabiz28 - Skynyrd didn't hate Neil Young. They didn't agree with what he said in one song, but they liked his music otherwise. I'm confused at this comment.

@UruguayKnabiz28 - learn the history behind the flag before you make that comment. I hate to break it to you, but the flag was not designed to represent the south. It was used as a nursing flag in Richmond, VA. One Confederate Soldier (of high rank) saw it, and thought it would be a good way to mock the North's flag (which led to the current US flag), and brought it back and started using it against the Nursing places wishes. The Stars and Bars are not designed to represent what you think.

@thedogduncan No, Ronnie died in '77 and then Johnny Van Zant finished the tour in Ronnie's place and has been the singer ever since.
