  • I saw The Who back in the early 80's sometime after Keith died.Kenny Jones was brought in as the drummer, but he did no justice to Keith.Roger,Pete and John were all fantastic but the driving force behind them was gone.Zak is anawesome drummer. In my opinion,he is better than his dad,Ringo. He is definitely the perfect choice to replace Keith. But yet Keith can never be replaced, his drumming was one of a kind.I have influences of his drumming in my own drumming, but I cannot touch Keith,Zak can.

  • is that Pino Palladino? I have always liked his bass playing.

  • when simon t says: "louder!". fucking hell - it's STILL the who...

  • zaks played drums since 97 that i know of?

  • '96, but he played with Roger, John and Simon at some kind of convention before that.

I think he may have also been the drummer on Roger's solo tour in 94 or 95, though. Whatever year it was.

  • the first who convention in 1995. is that the convention you're thinking of?

before the who, zak was playing drums for john and his band, IIRC.

  • zak's great, there couldn't be better drummer to be on keith's place. He's the one who learned with the master man!

how i wish i were at these rehearsals, watching them very closely !

  • yeah, no drummer was good enough to replace keith (a.k.a. WICKED UNCLE ERNIE)

  • Pete is 61 and roger is 62 I think.

  • other way around

  • they must begin this with big lumps in there throats knowing they used to play this to thousands of screaming fans and still do the business today.

  • Yeah, I wonder what they think when they play those real early songs. I've seen them three times so far on this tour. In November I'll see them twice again. It makes me sad at the end of the show when Pete and Rog step up to the front of the stage, and take a bow together.

It's sad to see John and Keith not being able to physically join in.

  • Wow for how old they are they still look and sound great.

  • Zakky Pakky !!!

  • It's cool that Zak Starky is now playing the drums, but he still wasn't as good as Keith.

  • Saw them at Leeds Uni, they were awesome, sounding pretty good in their first rehearsal too though so I'm not suprised.

  • Ha i saw them on Sunday night in Hyde Park. It was feckin amazing. Pete Townshend is still one of the greatest showmen on the planet.

  • going to see them at t in the park sunday cant wait

  • piera, thanks for the info!!! We've following The who since there beginning. They are definitly a Legend. Roger was recognized by Queen and given something from her for his charity work for cancer patients

  • bouncer1 can't wait to see THE WHO AGAIN!!! last time we saw them was in 1980 in Seattle,4th time.Keith and John will always be very much missed. Thanks for for the video. The Who are the BEST!!!

  • I can't wait to see them live myself when they make it to the states. For now, I'm following them online at thewholive.tv You can watch them perform a handful of songs LIVE every night they do a show for only 99cents and all the proceeds go to charity.

Pete has been talking about this for a few month now on his web diary. His efforts to raise money for various charities make me admire him even more! Why isn't he knighted???

  • awsum cant wait to go see them july 2nd ill upload sum songs if i record them

  • keeping rock and roll alive and kick ass

  • Pete's still rockin' There's hope for us all!

  • Thanks for posting this!!! I'm itching to see what the U.S. tour dates are going to be. I am definitely going this year since I haven't been able to get to a show since my first one in 97. I'm psyched about seeing them again and I hope I'll get to Casbah Club live as well.

    keep the faith,

    dEx

  • I think everyone is still looking for Keith and John. They are both sorely missed!

  • Eay to go boys!
