  • Sure, it may be sloppy but it's a dreamland type theme if it were full of rhythmes it wouldnt be good.

  • you force me to not sleep, too, and instead keep watching kalimba vids because i want to buy one so bad....

  • Is the A minor also called the "Heavenly A"?

  • Can you tell what tuning you are using in this video? I am quite anxious to get mine on order but Holloway will pre-tune for me and I want the same key as yours. Please respond!

  • @nemetonsanctuary

I take that as a compliment, thanks!

This is the nice factory default A-minor tuning from the manufacturer Hokema, so Mark can just send one your way.

  • Thank you for the demonstration - we loved it! We are in the process of ordering one for our meditation walks here at Nemeton Sanctuary.

  • good sound, i preffer just listening rather than watching vid, no matter about speed xD

  • Beautiful sound. And you are playing wonderful!

  • Can´t stop listen to it. Sounds so nice, fantastic, far away. I love it. Really.

  • Charming guy and music ;-)

Sansula seems to be a great instrument, it reminds me of Hang sound style, with an amazing sustain !

  • Hello

I sent you a message, let me know if you are interested in buying one.

  • are they cheap

  • Well, cheap or not depends on how much one is willing to spend, doesn't it?

They are about 150-270 USD depending on model.

  • I got one of these a month ago. Within a week I got it sounding good enough to play at the end of a meditation class each Friday. Everone is hooked on it, and getting one. Love your videos.

  • beautiful.. you inspired me the other day and i bought one from knock on wood in leeds..a deluxe... its on its way to me now ;-) i play hang and the ethereal sound reminds me of that.

well done , lovely playing, best wishes

  • thank you, it's beautiful instrument...and you so sweet :)

  • Thank you for your sweet comment!

  • Hello, I bought one today in Leuven (Belgium). Price 98,-. Love on first 'sound'. Sounds like the xylophone in the improvisationpart on the end of 'Moonchild' of King Crimson ;-)

  • I hope (and am rather sure) you will be happy with your sansula! I had a look at Moonchild videos here at YouTube but couldn't find anything...

  • Those things are fucking Audio CRACK! I thought my Hugh Tracy Kalimba was the shit. My dad got one of those and just fucked my whole style up. He did the "Wah Wah" sound and I shat a shorthaired cat when I heard it. Like seriously, a short haired tabby fell out my ass the sound was so dope. I gotta get one

  • Thanks for the most innovative comment yet!

Hovewer, the short haired cats can be found in other of my videos.

  • love youre music...5 stars ;-)

  • Some day I will play this instrument in the middle of the rainforest.

  • Excelente improvisacion! Great sound great feeling beautifuly performed

  • Very beautiful.

Where did you get that thing and how much does it cost?

  • Thank you!

Actually I run a store and sells them. Price ranges from 80EUR to 160EUR depending on material and more (synthetic or real skin). There are also cheaper models without the drum part, but they don't sound as this one. They are made by Peter Hokema in Germany. Best wishes from Sweden

  • Hi Staffan,

I´m interested in buying a sansula. I live in Stockhom, Sweden. Do you have a website or even better an visiting address in Stockholm?

  • Hello

I can arrange for a sansula to try out in my store selling fire juggling equipment, or we can get together somewhere so you can try different models. See a message sent to you...

  • I'm interested in getting a price on your Sansula

Kalimba. Also is this the paper, remo or goat skin head on the one for sale?

  • Staffan din lilla nattuggla :)

This is beautiful my friend, a question, how fast can you play on your Sansula, would it be possible for you to keep the rhythm up to a person that spin poi if it´s not to fast? :P

    Keep upp the magical tones.

Du är söt fast du sitter där som trötter och gör fingervals på din Sansula om natten :D

  • Hej Sötnos!

To play faster is no problem. Also, now this video feels really old, it was just after I stocked this instrument. I plan to make more proper music and of course it can be spinfriendly specially for you!

    Kram på dig vagabondvännen!

  • very beautiful improvisation! thanks!

  • Very beutiful comment! Thanks! :)

  • sweet dreams....

  • This is a magical instrument! Just got it a few days ago and it is always on me, at work, home, park... One of those instruments everyone can play, without a single mistake. I'll try to make a video one of these days and send it to you as a response.

  • Mmmmmmm......

Played mine whilst watching/listening.Two sansulas interweaving. Thanks for the duet!

And don´t call the playing sloppy! An artist is his own worst critic you know :)

  • sweet. i did the same thing this morning, when i couldn't sleep. got myself the Sansula B9. the one you are playing sounds great, but smelled too much of goat to me ;)
