  • I got a Flia here in brazil, 7 years old and never been out of the leash, spent his whole life in a square. when I first got him I let him go in the farm. I have never seen such happiness. After he run the whole land I called him and he came right away to me. Very obedient and im sure he recognized me as his savior lol! Love filas!

  • They're not so dumb... :)

  • We had a Brazilian Mastiff at one point in time. We called her Babe cuz she was such a clutz. By the time she was 8 months old she could be sitting on the floor with her head resting on the table.

  • @trashjack101 Not really when it comes to a Fila. The breed is the most loyal of all dogs. They are dominant but not with its masters. They will bend over backwards to make you happy. I have one from the states and one from Brasil. The ones from Brasil are way more aggressive towards strangers. The one I have from the states has no Fila temperament, but he is the most lovable creature I have ever met. Once you have a Fila you will never own a different breed of dog!

  • Once I had one, but she died three years ago. It's amazing how big they look even with that short age isn't it? <3

  • This is a wonderful breed,I grew up in the middle of those dogs, we have for of them at the farm in the rusty coat color And we have a yellow one at my home, they never ever attacked me,and I'm pretty bugging with dogs, but they are pretty vicious with strangers.

  • Oh is this what I always read about when they say you have to be more dominant with dogs that are generally going to be very large and have more of that alpha type personality?

  • omg i love him, he's prolly HUGE now...

i have two.. one of them it's around 120lbs lol he's clumsy, desperate and totally lacks coordination, cuz he's only a year old, grew up so so so so fat i just love him lol...

Honestly best dogs ever, i've had like 5 before, and i have no idea why people say they are dangerous, i've never had any problems with mine... strangers trying to sneak into my house do have problems but isn't that the point?

  • That is the exact same thing I did with my heeler mix. At feeding time I would have him sit or lay down until I told him "okay". I could even leave the room for over 15 minutes and he would stay until I told him he could eat. I think it's a very important practice to teach your dogs especially if they are going to be large dogs.
