To everyone saying its not the volts its the amps that will kill you. ITS A MYTH! Here 12v through the coil is stepped up to 12000-15000 volt, there are no hardley any amps. Thats what gave him the shock, as for the "its not the volts its the amps thing" anyone who knows nothing about electrcity or current quotes this and its wrong. Current (I) amps is proportional to the voltage divided by the resisitance. ie you can not have any amps without a voltage...so in theory its always the voltage.
Hey have you ever had a sparkplug give you a shock I smashed my head on the hood of my car aftter recieving that shock, its not the volts its the amps that will kill you.
What Pawalskij is trying to say for you guys that don't know anything about motorcycles is that the shock you would get from that 12 volt 10 amp system is like nothing and this guy sounded a little too affected by it.
Not to mention that bike is boring and looks like a million other yuppie "custom choppers"!
its not the shock that hurts man. its the heat of the wire. iv done this meany times. and it easly turns into a 2nd degree burn in a matter of seconds.
anyone that has to make a comment like that is lacking in his own self image. Its not that big of a deal . When I hear things like this I know you must have a very small p......
woah man, i dont wanna know why you know so much about other guys p.... Haha, yeah Im "lacking in my own self image" because i said that 12 v doesnt hurt THAT much. Very good conclusion there. Over n out
@Pawalskij its not the voltage... its the amperage. cranking amps on a large battery that size can seriously hurt; even though its only 12 volts.
And this comes from someone who has been electrocuted by a 400 volt capacitor (burns to prove it!) as well as many other high voltage combos. If that capacitor had been charged a bit more, the amperage would have killed me.
You dick, that fuckin not only was a surprise shock, but it burned him too, its the unexpected that was funny, not him actually getting hurt. So fuck off if you don't have anything positive to say. Work the secret asshole, or it will work against you

@jonstrats acutually that whole its not the volts its the amps thing is a myth. Amps are Volts divided by the resistance.

Go lick your fingers and touch the battery terminals. Then tell me that it won't hurt. If it has a short it gets hot and painful fast.

It wasn't the shock,it was the burn from the arcing.

You're right, I have too, but it's just the way the guy reacted was pretty funny.
Why would you post that? But yes it does suck!
