I realized that Christopher Nolan must be good friends with Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Cillian Murphy, because they've been in a couple of his movies.
Ah, I love Christopher Nolan. The lead actors of all his movies that I've seen draw you right into the story, carrying you all the way until the end. Then you're asked "Are you watching closely?" because at the end, you're always in for a surprise - I think it's only the Batman movies that don't twist your mind around and leave you guessing, but I could be wrong since I've never seen Insomnia or Following.
Nolan, I adore your work. I'm a huge fan. Never stop doing what you do.
@007iloveJesus Please tell me you don't think he is a mysoginist as some people have suggested. Yes, this aspect is in Nolan's movies, but it is actually because he fears losing his wife (or at least I have heard that he admitted to it).
Nolan is/will always be my favourite director. His films are interesting, beautiful and entertaining to watch. He's the only director whose work has left me speechless/blown away everytime I see them. Never get bored of watching Nolan's films. Can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises!!!
The 8 idiots that disliked this vid clearly don't know the artistry of editing! Something that Christopher Nolan has said to be a great element in film making, calling it "mysterious" I must say the more I was this the more I see that you have exceptional editing skills @djcprod
Noone was able to astonish me that much like Nolan did several times. First with Prestige, than with Memento, and finally with Inception. Can't wait to see his coming up masterpieces
Your waiting for an Oscar, an Oscar from a bunch of pretentious twats you might get nominated but you can't know for sure, but it doesn't matter because you made the greatest superhero film of all time and the best film of 2010!!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant tribute video. As with most of the commenters here, Nolan is my idol and favorite filmmaker of all time. Thanks so much for doing this, and superb editing. Bravo!
Wow, nice work, great tribute to the greatest Filmmaker ever, he's also my favorite Filmmaker, and its always wonderful to see videos like this, great montage !!!!!
@karl784585 At 1.07/1.08 it is a TDK scene, but I don't think that is the scene that you are referring to. The scene you are referring to probably comes from Memento.
I've got to say I'm not the biggest Christopher Nolan fan in the universe, but the editing and audio/video mastery I see at work here is absolutely flawless. Truly beautiful work.
Truly amazing. It's largely your skill at editing that make the video, but the power of the imagery combined with the excellent song, they match so well. Well done!
If there's a film made about my life, I'd like to have Christopher Nolan making it. It would even make my life look exciting/interesting. All-time favourite director!
Brilliant! I love the depth of interpretations the audio and visuals speak of the video to the director himself, the movie messages crossing over and as quotes in themselves. Again I say, brilliant!
@grable42 Haha... Thanks for lookin out Lauren! but there's always gonna be haters. I don't think some people grasp the concept of a fan just making a video for fun.lol
My only problem with this is that two of his films aren't here, Following and Insomnia. Other than that it is truly a great tribute to one of the best directors out there right now.
If I had to slightly nitpick, I would've liked the Close-up of all his protagonists' hands from "Following","Memento","Insomnia" and "Prestige" that form the opening sequences of the respective movies. Another would be the scene where Al Pacino is struggling for dear life underwater in "insomnia" alongwith the other water sequences depicted here!!!
Awesome work on this tribute to one of my favorite directors working today! It's great to see that you let the song just breathe and really play out to its full effect.
This is fucking incredible. It's so rare to see such wonderful editing that doesn't resort to cross-fading every single frame. And to dedicate it to such a perfect person as Nolan -- I adore everything about this. Fantastic work.
@jstall I dunno if I'd suggest it as his 'best' film or anything... several of his other films put it to shame, really, but as a debut film it's one of the best you'll ever see. I missed it in the video, tho, as you did. It's a damn shame it's not as well known. I heard IFC was going to rerelease it to theaters.
@SquigglyP I don't know if you can say "put it to shame," you have to take into account its small budget. The reason his kairos plot structure formulated the thematic vision for his films, had a lot to do with the fact that he could only afford to shoot the first half of the movie. Of course fifty percent of the film was still missing, so Nolan realized by filling in the gaps to his own film, years later, he had developed his visual style and that's awesome to hear IFC plans to release that film
