Actually this doesn't have 300+ HP. It's actually 250 HP. It's still got the old 3.5 in it. The new pentastar 3.6 is the one with 305 HP and it came out in '11.

@collier244 the 3.5HO is pretty quick, especially if you put duals on it like some Magnaflow mufflers really help, but the old V6's needed to be phased out, make room for new technology, the Pentastar 3.6 is up to par with GM and Ford's V6's

i drove a V6 Camaro, and even though it was an auto it has some serious grunt, more than my father-in-law's 08 Charger 3.5HO, and compared to my old 2.7 Stratus with a turbo muffler the Charger is fast

Just got a 2011 SE Rallye last week that came with the new Toxic Orange Pearl Coat, 305 hp engine & they added a true dual exhaust system with the chrome tips all standard on the SE this year!..It has that "Cat Back ' purr sound when you accelerate or rev the engine! This is a very good idea. Who the hell wants a 425 hp Hemi V8 as expensive as gas is nowadays? Upgrade those tires to a set of Goodyear F1 Performance R P255/45R20 and you're there. No one could tell the difference. Just don't take it out on the track or you'll be busted. :>)

@famousjoker16 If you get the new R/T Dodge upped the HP from 372 to 379 so not a huge gain. You can get a new R/T for anything from 30k-35k depending on options. A used SRT8 will have 425 HP and run about the same depending on mileage might be a bit less.. Im looking at doing the same thing but I've also played in the new 2011 Charger R/T just because I owned a 2006 SRT8 Charger before, they run pretty good and new ones are going for about 33K

My only suggestion would be to use bigger round mufflers..its sounds ok but the displacement is too small for such little mufflers. I have a 3.5 charger with long tube headers cams/heads and no cats and it still sounds like but because i took the cats off..but it did improve when i put a magnaflow mufflers on. But ima put cats on and a 18" magnaflow and see what happens.

I live in Texas and am opting out on the R/T for the SE 3.5L in the '09. The reason I'm doing so is because I got it at about $15.9k with 20,000 miles on it. I've searched high and low for the best exhaust on the SE, and you got it bud. Sounds like true muscle! Don't listen to the trash talkers, there really isn't any need for the V8 less you're dragging. @McSorleysFreak im getting an r/t classic with the 6 spd. man. mainly because the 5.7 is one of my favorite engines and i love the exhaust note. one thing though yours has everything im lookin for except the v8, although the v6 you picked, there is nothing at all wrong with it. its a really damn decent engine. 305 hp is nothin to joke about in that 3.6. my 4.2 I6 envoy has 296 hp and it weighs around 5500 lbs (1200 or so more than ur car) and its very strong, so i know how hard ur car can pull

I own the exact same car. Exept I have the Right system that Flowmaster designed for the particular car. single in and dual out. cut the original valence to accomodate the driver side round slash cut tip. My exaust sounds really nice. Its not that loud but it has a really nice purr and tone. I also have a K&N and put 245/55/18 BF Goodrich radial TA's on those exact rims you and I have and got rid of the skinny factory rubber. Trust me get the mags and also score the classic badge emblems. Nice!!
