Class structure in Heaven. The pen is cultural capital, a status symbol, which the clerk uses to distinguish from other clerks. Communism would work so that it didn't matter. The pen would be just a tool and free for use by all.
First off, class structure does NOT indicate lack of education or morals, and communism doesn't represent 'enlightenment'. Survival is one of the core elements of humanity, and although it isn't as difficult, in some senses, as it was 17 million years ago it's still a driving factor. If it was easy for humans as whole to accept differences, and see every other person as a part of a whole we wouldn't be in the situations we are today. There are exceptions, but those seem to be rarer than ever.
It's tasteless to try to deny as a lamer what is a widely accepted fact in the academic community: Class structure conditionalizes individuals into separate rights and teaches us to give up our independent goals in life. Back to the video, the pen is what I said it was. And that class structure is based on delusions. shadoweange please don't come up to me to try to seem above me. That's going to be ugly.
Haha, ugly how? Neither of us are the type to resort to slandering. All it would result in would be an argument, and a good one at that. I apologize for any apparent insult earlier, I really didn't mean to appear abrasive or insulting. I like to think everyone has the potential to be equal, I just don't believe many people live up to that potential. Personally, the cartoon didn't strike me as having that intended message, although it does make a good metaphor I suppose.
