Good to see an aussie sugar glider vid. It's weird coming on youtube and seeing all these yanks talking about an australian animal like they're experts and getting it wrong half the time.
It probably bit you because you just stuck your finger through the mesh of the enclosure.. Maybe if you went in there and actually made the effort to see it, it wouldn't bite.
Actually, that's a different species, they get slightly bigger with their environment. Yours is probably mean as hell because you don't spend time with it. Also if you're pulling away quickly when they bite that just makes them think they can do it and you'll go away every time after that.
So before you think about getting one please, please do the history on gliders and the breeders. I believe my breeder has alot to do with my glider's tude problem. I am looking into getting another one after I find something to do with my current one. O and make sure you buy them at 6-8 weeks old, that has a lot to do with how well they respond to their new parents. Hope I could help, mail me for q&a.
Yep ppl that's a sugar glider, they get as big as their environment! For the smaller living space you will get a smaller glider. My gilder is mean as hell and trust me there is no way to stop them from biting. The biting hurts depending on if they are really trying to hurt you, mine draws blood and doesn't even weigh a pound. s
Seeing these as prisoners hurts...

@CorruptionIMLC so what species is it

@Sorachandler Judging by the tail and the facial structure, and the fact it isn't discolored on the belly, I believe it to be a squirrel glider.

Wow, that thing looks so different than my little guy. He's so big! I wonder if the American ones were bred to be smaller.

I think that's a mahogany glider, just look at how fluffy the base of it's tail is.
