Any flying techniques? I really find that fascinating. The running off the leg knee, or when they wrap the legs around the neck and beat the head in with the elbows. Would love to see a tutorial on that. Kentucky doesn't have any Traditional Muay Thai gyms. Would love for this to come over here. I would be the first student to register.
@ayutaya99 umm... it depends on where you learn and what books you read. As my audience on youtube generally aren't going to go and start learning Thai, I'd prefer that the say it right, and keep it simple.
@guaea Lol. I thought about this a lot before naming these videos - the use of the letter 'P' to represent one of the 'B' sounds in Thai is one of my pet hates.
After much thought, I decided to use 'B' instead of 'P', mainly because I didn't want people watching the video then calling the names Pong, Pat, Pit and Peurt all with hard 'P's (pronounced 'Pea') instead of the correct sound (which is closer to B than Pea!)
@nathanbrown19 Late post, but I thought I'd share my own observation. I'm an American that has lived in Thailand and can speak some of Pasa Thai. I think you are correct to go with the "B" for exactly the reason you state. Thanks for sharing this wonderful art!
Quickly falling in love with muay chaiya. the muay boran styles are amazing, i come from a jujutsu (trad) judo and kyokushin kai karate background and the Muay Boran styles impress me more than other martial art i've seen thus far for unarmed combat. They fit so beautifully into grappling arts like judo and jujutsu and they flow so much nicer than karate styles IMO. Keep it up man, you chose a fantastic fighting form to train in.
