  • Did you see LKY at 1:35 in?

  • Makes me feel like a true Singaporean after listening to this song. Been a little cynic about Singapore nowadays, even makin a NDP parody, contingents marching to the Soviet Anthem. You can check it out in my channel.

  • Best rendition of the national anthem thus far! Simply awesome! Makes me feel so proud as a Singaporean. :)

  • i don't know why they go back to the previous arrangement of the anthem for 2010 after such an improvement to the anthem, but I am glad that they got rid of that arrangement again for 2011 ndp

  • lll?

  • MAJULAH SINGAPURA

    salam from ujong tanah

  • In case anyone does not know: The lyrics are printed on the back of the $1000 note.

  • @yanztedj "Zubir took a year to finish composing the music and lyrics for the song. In a 1984 oral history interview, he recalled the process: "[T]he difficulty is in such a short melody, I have to put in all the words ... [I]t must be very simple, understandable for all the races in Singapore ... I consult also [sic] an author in Malay language so that I can do it in proper Malay language but not too deep and not too difficult." Get ur facts str8!

  • @yanztedj Sure why not. Since when is Wikipedia the undisputable source for anything?

Let's get one thing right: Indonesia, the country, did not exist in 7 AD. A few Malay empires that bicker with each other did. Get the word right, MALAY empires whether they be in present day Malaysia or Indonesia or Singapore or Borneo. So to say that Malay language comes from Indonesia is misleading. It is more correct to say that Bahasa Indonesia is a form of Malay language, as is Bahasa Malaysia.

  • @yanztedj Whatever floats your boat. But do try running that statement of yours that "Majulah Singapura" is in Bahasa Indonesia by any Singaporean or Malaysian and see them laughing their asses off. Just because an inscription is found in what is modern day Indonesia, it doesn't automatically mean it is Bahasa Indonesia. FYI that part of Sumatera used to be under the Melaka empire. Indonesia did not exist then, and it could again cease to exist in the future. Ethnicity does not equal nationality

  • MM lee, you have make our country such a wonderful place. Although you are no longer a part of the cabinet, in my heaty, you will always be our MM lee. We younger generations will not let you down

  • I love this new remix of rysthem... nice! Happy 45th Birthday Singapore!

  • i know that remixing a Singapore Anthem is a Crime?

  • @1998retrobmx No... I think only like making fun of it or not singing it properly then is crime....

  • @1998retrobmx Well I think it's funny how people think of logic this way. If it really was a crime, then what are the ministers and president doing? Wouldn't they demand instant arrest of the person who was in-charge of this remix?

That's my point of view, based on what I see from this video :) Apologies.
