Looks like the bridge saddles were changed to newer ones. The original vintage style saddles to me sound really great but have tuning and intonation issues.
My life talk about discourse over the usage of correct pick ups,amps,strings,leads,plectrums...the in's and outs of a ducks arse.Is it good?well considering its 30yrs plus old.Originally played with drums, bass and a vocalist that shared the work...Pedants.It rocks like it should..
I didn't read through all the posts here to see if someone else noticed, but, that "52 Telecaster" has a modern six saddle American Tele bridge. Even Custom Shop Reissues have the three saddle bridge. Maybe he just modded a $50,000 real '52? Doubt it. It's not a '52 Tele.
@mslugano56 well you really can't come to that conclusion so easily. believe or not people do mod vintage guitars at least the people who arnt fretting over the resale value. telecasters are bloody easy to mod and telecaster bridges arnt difficult to swap over. petes guitar tech im sure is skilled enough to swap over an old bridge for a new one. he possibly could have been having issues with it. so no offence but please think alittle more before you try and make yourself look like a smart arse.
@mslugano56 Good eye Sherlock... But not really. So he changed the freakin bridge.so the fuck what! Does that not make it a '52 Tele? Those old 3 saddle bridges were hard to intonate not to mention the lip that went around the plate that he may have found uncomfortable when compared to a modern Tele bridge.. What is Pete's motive to lie? I could change out that bridge in 10 minutes with a phillips screwdriver and change it back without you knowing it was done in another 10 minutes. IDIOT!
All the Tele comments are true...I went from a Tele to a les paul and now a strat and Im trying to get a Tele back now...should have kept my first dear Tele...
@stevoe1000 Yeah, and the Stratocaster was supposed to be an 'improvement' on the Tele back in the day (bridge improvement, added pups, contoured back). Look how much the Tele has held it's own against all the 'new and improved' guitars of the past 50 years. Great fiddle.
@ryanjurek And the SG was supposed to be an improvement over the bulky and heavy and uncomfortable Les Paul. These are timless tones that can't be improved upon.
This is about the coolest one man, one electric guitar video i've ever seen. Jack White comes very close at times. If his voice doesn't move you, that ripping telecaster wil! I have to watch this almost daily to remind me how cool rock-n-roll guitar can be. With all respect and love, you are a serious bad ass, Pete!
....and its supposed to sound like this...! A true master, and he knows it.I get the fuckin chills every time. I often wonder how much greater be,if Moonie and Thunderfingers wouldve lived!!! Ah Salud!
like if this video made you wanna buy a telecaster...

@olszeric Brilliance in the making? I think at this point in his career, timeless would be a better adj.

@71lkilmer Ironically, Pete's #1 stage guitar(s) for the past 20 years, has active electronics.

@mslugano56 It's a '52. He put the Am Std bridge on it at least as far back as '89. I don't think he gives a fuck what it's worth.

Can anyone see the name of the amp in the background just as he starts playing...is it an ORANGE make
stevoe1000 1 year ago
@stevoe1000 There aren't too many different models of orange amps. Just count the number of knobs and go to the orange website and find the same one.

That would be "queue". It's English parlance for a line - in this case, of people waiting for the magic bus.
