2:30 - That's pretty hardcore. Do you reckon they need to show footage of this nature in programs like this? This is not a complaint, just a question.
@nookie077 Yeah, I think we should just close our eyes and pretend this never happened. That way we will not learn from our mistakes. Then we can repeat what happened. One big circle of life. That footage is of REAL people that died for an insane cause. Do you want to keep your children from seeing it?
6 of my uncles saw combat in WW2 in the Pacific Theater. My uncle Charlie was a Marine Tanker and his M4 Sherman was destroyed by a Japanese anti-tank gun in the Philippines. He was nearly killed, losing part of his stomach and several feet of intestines. Under the conditions it's a wonder he got proper medical care in time to save his life. He lived to be almost 80 years old. I've got several cousins that "wouldn't be here" had uncle Charlie not survived. God Bless all the old tankers!

@freewill51 Quote: "This is not a complaint, just a question." So save me the sarcasm please.
You can explain to someone the danger of guns without showing them someone blowing their brains out on camera - your argument makes no sense.
And to answer your question: Do I want to keep my children! from seeing a human being burning to death...errm, yes! I do. How weird am I?

Most armies required the tank commander to remain outside the tank at all times. This was necessary for the reasons this video makes clear.

I don't care how thick the armor might be I would much rather be an anonymous infantryman and take my chances.
Riding inside a very big and very heavy "target" wouldn't be something I'd want to do...
