  • Does a Cube4You 3x3x3 work?

  • does it shapeshift?

  • @1997benny Not to be rude, But DUH

  • appreciate the video. I made one, and it works great!!

  • no @Ravanaboy

  • When I made mine, I used a cubic 3x3x5. It was a little more intuitive and required fewer steps, but it required the thin corner stalks for the outer layer corners to be cut completely off and glued to an extension. This means that it can break very easily if dropped but I haven't had it break while solving yet.

Now they have the super 3x3 which you can simply glue cubies onto and BAM, ff 335. It was a great learning experience though.

  • hey kenneth, i cant understand how you make the cuts....

is there a chance you make a short video explaining better about the cuts?

i dont want to destroy my 3x3x4 for nothing

  • lool nie mehr schuften bin so reich

  • Does the 3x3x3 have to be from Cube4u?

  • Comment removed

  • WTF CAPTIONS???

  • Are there any differences between this homemade fully proportional 3x3x5 and the C4U cubic 3x3x5 cube? (except the shape of course)

In the solving, the lockups, or parity maybe?

  • @Adam94in Factory Made ones are just "Higher Quality" But Kenneths is great

  • Would it would be possible to build a fully functional and proportional 3x3x6 if you were to extend the center caps further, along with the outer edges and corners, and cover the other center caps with inner corners or edges? I have plans to attempt this and will post a video if it works.

  • The best vid on how to make a 3x3x5 I've seen. I'm going to make one! Thanks :-)

  • can u make another contest for a cube please

  • to complicated!!

  • you so cool mann

  • sub to me cuz i cant sub to myself

  • What would you say is the approximate build time for this puzzle?

  • u mst b lonely look at the aamount of rubix cubes...

  • you are auesome

  • @redkb I bought this miter box/ saw combo and it's not tall enough. Any advice?

  • CHALLENGE ACCEPTED :)

    bit confused though

  • woah how did you make the pattern on your 7x7x7 from 0:05 - 0:11

  • @awsomedrummer100 Watch my interactive pattern tutorial. It's the Superflip.

  • You are like my perfect match XD, you make ALL the kinds of videos i like (mods, reviews, unboxings, and solves) you are a great tutor also, thanks for all the videos Kenneth

  • @redkb

    Does this puzzle also shapeshift:)

  • @PORCIPINEAPPLE OF COURSE IT DOES!

  • @PORCIPINEAPPLE you dont know what does ff means ??

  • @agamer999 fully functional

  • whats the difference between a 3x3x5 and a FF 3x3x5

  • @phobatrivaphobia An extended 3x3x5 is just a 3x3x3 with two rows of cubies just super-glued to the 3x3. It acts only like a 3x3. A Fully Functional (FF) 3x3x5 can move how you would expect a 3x3x5 to move.

  • @redkb i kinda thought/knew that that's what it meant. its just that, usually in stores they just say 3x3x5 so i got a little confused. thanks for the answer tho

  • @phobatrivaphobia i think both 3x3x5s arent sold in stores... if you see them in stores then they are probably cube, search cube4you cubic 3x3x5 and you will find it

  • @redkb how to solve? please answer

    I'm stuck :P

  • Thanks , THANKS , THANKSSSSS A BUNCH

  • Y not buy one

  • @zackster542 you cant buy them yet online

  • matt damon

  • u lost me

  • turn on the captions it is so funny

  • legal

  • is that center at 4:27 from a type F-II?

  • is that center at

  • has anyone ever tried to make one of these? O_O

  • what editing software do you use?

  • your good at making patterns in the rubik's cube

  • I've seen all your selfmade-cube videos without owning the materials for it XD

  • You put this cut on that edge for this thing to go there and then this other thing is facing down and then you use the cap of the glue to stick in the middle...

  • Hey Redkb can u amke another one and give it to rubiks company or soemthing so they can sell at stores :D

  • 8:17 apoxy salt lol

  • i am really want to make one but i still need a 3x3x4 and a new 3x3 .

But this is one of the best instructional video's i've ever seen!

    Great job kenneth!

  • Ok so you take the centers 3x3 cut them for center caps and then replace the cut 3x3 centers with 3x3x4 is that right? Btw awesome video

  • If the right side is a 3x5 side, and the top is a 3x3 side, and you do an R, what stops you from turning the top side (3x3 side which is now 3x2)? Wouldn't that make it fall apart?

  • Its like Hypnotizem When I watch your Building Videos.

  • hey redkb, i really want to make a 3x3x5, so i was wondering, in one part, you will cut the caps. but can you put the caps on the pieces, THEN cut it????

  • i just got a 3x3x3, so im starting tomorrow!!!!:D

  • does it matter which kind of 3x3x3 you use? like will it work only for a rubik's cube or can it work for an alpha-V 3x3?

  • To fill the seamlines, just fill it with superglue and then sand it down. Then use some black paint to hide the glue. Much easier and when done properly, betterlooking than using Apoxy.

  • just btake a 3x3 crazy and glue on some cubies...

  • Dude you are a genius!!

But I think the corners would break pretty soon because they're really small..

  • no wonder nakulah likes this...

  • Wow, awesome! Why don't you sell the designs? You'll make a fortune. It's gonna be just great if it's mass produced...

  • how to solve it?

  • are you planning on modifications in the future? please =)

  • I love this vid! I will hopefully try it! I am commenting on my iphone

  • i made mine out of 2st 3x3x3

  • O_O its sounds like another math problem

  • do you make the cuts on all of the pieces for the 3x3x4

  • I'll buy the parts from amazon. Thanks this looks cool!

  • Could you just make me one and mail it to my house? :P

  • you r obsessed with rubix cubes, arent you?

  • @PDMLJC Duh....Rubik's cube are amazing. I'm obseesed with them too :]

  • will a rubiks diy work? is it the same size?

  • what 3x3x3 did you use

  • @yoyodude1124 I used one from dealextreme(dot)com for around $6

  • What 3x3x3 do you recomend to use?

  • redkb can u sell one of these to me?. i dont have the necessary tools for the cutting and such, and also where can i get apoxy sculpt? i cant find it anywhere!?

  • I do not understand what he means by capping each piece, because won't it be a little thick afterwards? Adding an extra layer to the cube and all

  • can u make me one

  • i made a type c 3x3x5 one thats not out there any were else :p

  • that is cool.

  • What do you mean by capping each piece? Its already capped

  • @CubesLikeI he menas puttung plastic sheeting over it

  • can you make a video on your cube collection?

  • make a tutorial how to solve it =þ please

  • make a tutorial how to solve it =Þ please

  • is that the only pattern u know the checkered pattern

  • Very Smart!!!!!!

  • This is cool -subscribes-

  • How come C4Y didn't do this?

  • lol , i have 800 sandpaper , it just feels like regular paper

  • just finished making all my cuts, doesn't look that great, but i'm exited to finish this. Thank you greatly for this tutorial, keep up the great work.

  • This is complicated...

  • dude, I don't know you, but you must be very awesome. You can make a puzzle that even a great shop, like CubeForYou couldn't make, and you just teach how to make it for free. You're awesome!

  • i had a homer cube but it broke

  • I nearly finish one of this.

    Thank this tutorial.

  • Hey redkb, may i ask if i could purchase apoxie sculpt or plastic sheeting from you as shipping for apoxie sculpt is around 3 times the price of a 1 lb apoxie sculpt and the plastic sheeting in the video description does not ship to singapore.

  • Ok, this is just incredible. Did you come up with the idea for this all on your own? This is my next project. I hope to have it started by the end of this month =D

P.S. The video quality is amazing. I had no idea YouTube was capable of this, haha

  • Comment removed

  • Shape shift it as much as possible and give it to someone who has never solved a rubiks cube:P

  • Do you plan on a 3x3x37? and a tutorial?

  • awesome, my cousin treats you as the rubix king!

  • does it matter what type 3x3

  • @Bboychill210 It is a cube4you cube

  • where did u get your 3x3x3 diy

  • hey man can you please accept my video response?

  • I had an idea for a rubber cube that you can throw and it will jump.

so if you can build one it will be cool

  • wow, awesome, it shape shifts :0

  • i mae one, but... it doesnt look like yours, its kinda like a mix of what urs looks like and half of what the c4u looks like..

  • what size apoxie sculpt do u get

  • wen he mad it turn with the sides stick out i was like WTF!!!!!!!!!

  • how did u cut them so clean and neat

  • @MidgetMan14xxEClipse I used a a razor saw.

  • @redkb does exacto knife work?

  • Its amazing that you have that ideas:)

  • That's an amazing mod you did. Great work!

  • amazing...where du you get the idea?? cool puzzle very nice

  • thank you :D now i have more projects this summer lol

  • Hey redkb, can you let me know where you get the plastic sheets?

  • @killerman2888 I updated my video description to add a link to where I bought plastic sheet.

  • @redkb Could you make an add on video for the 3x3x5 on how to cap the pieces?

  • @killerman2888 I won't be making another video for the 3x3x5. I did add a link to a great video in the description by KylerV3. In it he shows how to cap pieces with plastic sheet. Good Luck!

  • very nice tutorial, i almost wish i could just pay somebody to make one instead of buying all the materials to do it :/

  • Well, I think I'll order another 3x3x4 & try this out. I don't know if I'll be sticking with it through the whole thing, but I'll try!

  • @MeMyselfAndPi Good Luck! Let me know how it turns out!

  • @MeMyselfAndPi I myself might try this and hand it to a friend jumbled up.

  • @MeMyselfAndPi DO IT DO IT DO IT! i wanna see how it will turn out.

  • excellent vdo tuterial again 5 star for u

  • @traiphumi Thanks!

  • awesome mod dude

  • A question, if you do just an L, can you do a U then? To be clear I mean twisting on of the 3x5 blocks, then twisting the top 2x3 block.

  • Hey keneth what is an effecient way to get the cut started if using a saw thing?

  • @Ms09890 I'm not sure I get your question. When I'm using a razor saw, I start by moving it back and forth without putting much pressure on the plastic. This will get a grove started. Once there's a grove I start adding pressure. The whole time you got to keep checking that the cut is going straight. - Does that help?

  • @redkb yeah it did thanks. and on your saw the blades are closer together does that effect anything?

  • @Ms09890 Usually if the teeth are closer together it will make a more precise cut, but it might also take longer to cut.

  • What kind of 3x3x3 was that used in the video?

Also love all your mods :)

  • What kind of 3x3x3 is that?

Also love all your mods :)

  • this doesnt have to do with the 3x3x5, but, if you can, can you make a cube collection video?

  • Is it ok if two decades later i use a 3x3x5 and a 3x3x3 to make a 3x3x7? jk i'll never get the chance to try that although i think it's possible using your method

  • i would make one if i had another 3x3x4

  • lucky I made a few pics of what the FF might look like and you got there before me! It looks almost the same as yours. But still, i wouldn't make one anyways

  • Halfway done with mine!

  • I'm sorry if what I'm about to say is stupid, but I didn't get if I need to modify ALL of the 3x3x4 pieces, or should I leave bunch of them unmodified?

    Thanks.

  • @RanFeiwell All of the outer and inner corners need to be modified, all of the outer and inner edges need to be modified, and the extended center caps need to be modified. (34 pieces in all need modification.) So all of the 3x3x4 pieces do need to be modified. The 3x3x3 edges and centers for the middle layer do not need to be modified.

  • the 600 grit doesnt even look like sandpaper on camera! it kinda looks like fleible plastic

  • what about the 3x3x7

  • ok, i have watched this a couple of times and this is bugging me

what did you use to outline the cuts

  • @austin56101 I think he used gorilla glue but I'm not 100% sure about that.

  • @austin56101 I used puffy paint. =)

  • where did you get the peice at 4:50

  • @KyleTheCuber They comes with the diy 3x3x4. They are caps for the outer edges. If yours is already put together you need to somehow pop out the outer edge caps.

  • Where could I get some appoxie sculpt?

  • @KaTsnKuBeS avesstudio (dot) com

  • good

  • Why did you put all of your other puzzles in a case in a background?

  • @ktj9139 To make an interesting background.

  • Comment removed

  • was it very difficult?

  • @PikAssO7 Not as difficult as the 1x2x3. It does take a very long time, each piece seems to take forever!

  • @redkb cool, thanks:)

  • Amazing tutorial. I really hope you can do. 2x2x3 tutorial as nechronius' is a little dark lighting and hard to see

  • Comment removed

  • Where can I get apoxie sculpt?

  • @Buster15061996 avesstudio (dot) com

  • Hey, how much would this cost to make???

  • @thetommantom $14 for the 3x3x4. You can get a 3x3x3 from dealextreme (dot) com for 6$ two sheets of 3x3x3 stickers for 5$ from cubesmith. 1$ worth of Apoxie Sculpt and 1$ worth of superglue. It could be done for less than $30 if you already have a saw and sandpaper.

  • Would it work if we glue extentions to the C4Y 3x5x5??
