@Namadu7 Sprite limitation. Each sprite is only so big, and Mario's head is a bit too big, so they added it to his body. They probably think it looks like it's part of is shirt.

In the "The End" picture, Mario looks like a drunken cyclops with a blue tongue (He only has one eye if you look closely), Peach looks like a Super-Saiyan (Surely she could just Kamehameha Bowser as he tried to kidnap her?), and Luigi looks fatter than Mario!

In spite of these things, It's still a decent ending, better than most of the "The End" scenes I've seen (^_^)
