the raid that caused this plague was a 20-man raid, and it was the first 20-man raid to be ever implemented into WoW, so I'm pretty sure there were at least more than 15 people involved, and who started this "pandemic."
I remember hearing about this some new dungeon came out and the boss caused the plauge to nearby players the problem was if a player had a pet they could make the pet get the desease and then dismiss them so when players called their pets in the main world they would speread the desease to oher players in pvp and the players spead it to other players and so on and it was like that for two days
The way it worked was that the plague could only spread to the people that were in the same mode as the others (pvp vs non-pvp). This plague was atleast partially deliberately spread, and people were banned for causing it's propagation deliberately.
Level 60's (max level) could generally survive the plague, yet lowbies had more trouble.
It's longevity made it the single most interesting thing to happen to world of warcraft.

Future game devs should study this "plague" and incorporate similar types of things into their gameplay. EVents like this are momentous and create memorable gameplay. And they are 100x the fun for the players than any canned, preprogrammed pve instance is.

yeah, they had GMs and put all GMs on some setting which makes every character agreesive to the GM and they boxed people into the cities while the people at blizz figured out where the plague started from. Turns out it was from pets who would catch the sickness off Hakkar

the day ever city died. It affected every1 after some hunter came from an instance with the desiese on its pet and then it spread to everyone. Blizz had to quarantine some of the cities

it was a glitch where a disease did about 500dmg per/sec and infected everyone in contact with an infected. NPC's were also infected, eventually the servers crashed. there is rumors that they messed up somehow with the disease. others say a person hacked into the servers and placed the virus.
Actually it was a disease that only existed somewhere, can't remember' that if another person was near an infected person, then they would get it. Somehow it got out, and started killing masses of people and noobs
It was when the instance ZG was released. The one boss gave this buff, they made it so it was removed if you left the instance, to prevent this. But hunters could get their pet to get it then dismiss it and call it in a town and he will still have it. Then it just spreads from there. Some guild planned the whole thing a week before this.
they cant legally cut and run everytime you pay for wow subscription blizzard automatially signs a contact by taking you money that the time you payed for has to be carried out so they would have to give like 1 - years notice for those people who pay for 12 mounth at a time

OK for all of you that dont know about this, basically when ZG was released, the last boss in there, (blood god hakkar) had a debuff during the fight called tainted blood basically it caused 300 dmg a pop and infected any close players in the raid. however, there was a bug that it continued thorught after they left the instance, the players would then go to major cities and spread it around, yes i was one of those players XD

(this is one wierd coincidence, that the WOW has a medival setting and a plague just like the bubonic(black) plague)

Orgrimmar is the main Horde town and home of the Orcs (and the Trolls to a lesser extent).
No it is not, the plague was re-coded a long time ago.

It, well, didnt literally kill players (cause we can resurrect) but it infected about 40% of WoW's players.
Orgrimmar is the Capital City of the Orcs.
No, the corrupted blood 'infection' was changed to an attack in the dungeon so it is not spreadable now.

the day ever city died. It affected every1 after some hunter came from an instance with the desiese on its pet and then it spread to everyone. Blizz had to quarantine some of the cities

it was a glitch where a disease did about 500dmg per/sec and infected everyone in contact with an infected. NPC's were also infected, eventually the servers crashed. there is rumors that they messed up somehow with the disease. others say a person hacked into the servers and placed the virus.

Actually it was a disease that only existed somewhere, can't remember' that if another person was near an infected person, then they would get it. Somehow it got out, and started killing masses of people and noobs

It was when the instance ZG was released. The one boss gave this buff, they made it so it was removed if you left the instance, to prevent this. But hunters could get their pet to get it then dismiss it and call it in a town and he will still have it. Then it just spreads from there. Some guild planned the whole thing a week before this.

they cant legally cut and run everytime you pay for wow subscription blizzard automatially signs a contact by taking you money that the time you payed for has to be carried out so they would have to give like 1 - years notice for those people who pay for 12 mounth at a time

No way blizz is going to cancel WoW... they would lose tons on bucks, because everyone pays monthly, and if WoW is cancelled they'll lose that money they gain.

lol i guess this plauge was an accidentl proof of the WoW's current advertisment pitch "It's not a game its a world" i suppose the plauge gave it a third dimention that for a few days made it feel really alive

OK for all of you that dont know about this, basically when ZG was released, the last boss in there, (blood god hakkar) had a debuff during the fight called tainted blood basically it caused 300 dmg a pop and infected any close players in the raid. however, there was a bug that it continued thorught after they left the instance, the players would then go to major cities and spread it around, yes i was one of those players XD
