  • SUPER :)

  • i thought I was watching something from '72.They had me fooled.I think it sounds good and I've seen the boy's in the 70's.

  • Oh you Naysayers all of you calm down you guys all think Noddy Holders grow on trees they don,t this guys tryin his ass off and few give em credit can,t you see it for what it is a tribute only thing that can wreck your memory is whiskey and speed.

  • sounds like us lot on the piss in the 70's trying to emulate the rock god, Mr Holder !!

Slade was my religeon, Dave Hill, what are you doing to our memories ? it was nothing like this !!!!

  • Sounds awful.

  • Better than I thought they`d be without the originals. I`m impressed and will look out for them if they come local. Thanks for this.

  • Why is it other bands can have new members and carry on but Slade get criticised? Mal is NOT trying to be Noddy Holder. Go and actually see the band and see the enjoyment of the crowd. Who knows what they would sound like these days if Nod and Jim had stayed? If they sounded crap then they would be Slaughtered.Nods voice went which is why he does fuck all singing wise. Slade were Dave and Dons band from the beginning. Have a chat to Mal McNulty and you will see he is not trying to be Noddy

  • I know the members need the money & dont we all!... But this is going to give todays generation a false impression of what the band sounded like. All that work that was put into the SLADE band from the begining will be for nothin. Oh well... the origianl LP's will always remain to really show the world what they sounded like one time back in 1972.
  • Personally?

I think if the "ORIGINAL" members

Slade dont want to play with each

other again for what ever reason,

    They should with respect RETIRE

the name SLADE & go under a

    diff name.

  • When I saw slade hit the stage

back in 1972 in S.F the whole

place went wild & they had a

    super powerful kick you right

    in the chest sound. Thats

    because they were thee

    origianl "SLADE" and

    they were fresh & ready

    to take on the world!.

  • With all due respects to everyone....

But i saw slade when they came

to San Francisco,Calif and I have

to tell you that the way the band

sounds now with out thee original

    lineup?....

It just sounds like a wanna be Slade

garage band. Thats just the truth.

  • BRING THE HOUSE DOWN

  • quien me puede conseguir videos de slade aca en peru no hay muchos de ellos

  • Noddy Holder is the best

  • So, why did Noddy leave and why is everyone so sure he will never sing again?

He sure can't keep off the tele for long...

Bottom line is Noddy and Jim refuse to play so Dave and Don have to play with other guys. Good luck to 'em. People keep making out like they're the bad guys. If Noddy and Jim are missing then surely that is down to Noddy and Jim. Give Dave and Don a break.

  • yes i agree here in North Carolina USA. if noddy dont want to do it then thats that. im glad dave and don are at least keeping slade rock and roll ALIVE. and also daves playing is better than ever and so is the equip they use now. so noddy and jim are missing out but they aint dead yet... just look at the fans they love it. bottom line.

  • Noddy left because he was bored doing it.Lots of in band arguements too.

Having just seen Slade in Torquay I got to say they were great.Don Powell always has a chat at the stage door and the whole show was full of fun.

Not is gone. His voice is shot to hell after years of singing like he did.He is also a grumpy git who on one hand plays down his Slade days whilst still using it for fame. Leave it there.

  • i,m sorry, but this sounds like some second rate drunken karioki act, it is an insult to the Slade army of the 70's, what a joke !!!

this act are missing two components:

    NODDY HOLDER and JIM LEA.

    and Caskinner, you know nothing

  • you cry like a baby. to me dave hill embodied they true flavor of slade anyway.

  • This is Slade 2.

I have seen them live and they are great. The singer is actually very good. Not as good as Noddy, but Noddy is a hard act to follow! The problem here is the sound quality of this recording is poor and the vocals are distorted as hell and you can hear more of the audience (who are not exactly in tune) than you can of the singer!

Dave Hill and Don Powell were spot on. The bass player even plays the violin like Jim Lea did.

  • It's not the best is it? Fair play to Noddy for stickin' to his guns & keepin' outta the music game. He doesn't need it anymore.

  • Shite!

  • 5.4.3.2.1.....PISH!

  • What is this shit?

who is that is trying to cover Noddy?

    Sounds terrible!

There is no Slade without Noddy Holder and Jim Lea.

  • they have mal mcnulty singing with them now i believe, this guy departed. yes he seems like a poor noddy imitator. new guy sang with sweet for a while!

  • Yeah....

  • Saw them last night in Belfast with Mud2 and T-rextasy....had a great time....don't slag them off until you have been to a show.

  • As for money Slade were paying a massive 83% income tax under the 70s Labour government.Very unfair.

  • Couldn't put it better. Excellent live band.

  • Slade were one of my fave early 70`s Glam Rockers who should have made it big then in the USA. But this is like watching The Stones without Mick Jagger or Motorhead without Lemmy!Didn`t they make enuff munny to retyre cumfatably on? Without having to find a sound alike? Only band this ever worked for were ACDC. And I like them better without Bon! But Slade without Noddy is not a go.

  • A couple of years ago I went to a gig with Sweet and Slade. They were both awesome and still rocking strong!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it doesn´t work does it , and it shouldn´t be allowed....like T. rex without Bolan...or the faces without Rod...shudn´t be called slade....

  • there is no "Z" anymore. It's just noise.

  • Top stuff.

  • SLADE without Noddy like the car without engine

  • couldn't agree more

    please come back nod!

  • Dave Hill .

He was and is the noize .

    D.M

  • does everyone here just bang on about "wheres noddy n jim" this sounds ok to me and i saw the origonal line up 3 times in the early 80s, Dave n Don still need to make a living and have a purpose in life and listening to their guitar and drums they still do it very well.

  • no noddy no jim no point

  • its mal mcnutty, hees great :) love slade, see yohh on sunday,

  • Still the best... but without Noddy... :-(

  • no noddy NO SLADE

  • could the camera be a little further away sorry but it stinks

  • what do you want eh we had the best seats in the house thanks to good freinds in the band

  • well maybe you should of got up on stage dont take it to heart ,without noddy they aint really slade r they

  • yes i do agree with you noddy was the voice of sladewe still keep in touch but he is never coming back same with jim i agree the singer aint the best but there will never be another NODDY OR JIMMY LEA

  • ok thats settled then i didnt mean to insult you with the first comment,i once gave some people myself ahard time on my tube as some guy had put together his own compilation on jimmy paige and people just ripped him apart cos it wasnt factuel correct,so it bugged me as people put a lot of energie and time into putting things together so peace abd a happy new year,ps still a geat band .

  • Have I missed something?

    Dave Hill .

My guitar-hero before I heard Marc Bolan .

    D.M

  • Slade without Noddy is like a day without sunshine.

  • great great. see you slade again 2008 in denmark

  • Is that Steve Whalley on vocals or Mal McNulty?

    Anyone know the date?

Just remember all, if Noddy was still keen, you wouldn't have the 'old' Noddy back, you'd have the 61year old Noddy, which might not be quite the same ;-)

  • Mal is good singer ;)

  • Slade still rules!

  • Check out the singer of Darkcide on youtube- hes Australias Noddy..well he was.its a long time ago, but he sounded a lot like Nod, but nobody sounds like Noddy, hes a one off. the best ever.

  • that´s ok......but without Noddy is not the same.

Dave continue being the Best Seller ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Just not the same without Noddy.

  • If you were lucky enough to have seen the "ORIGINAL" SLADE in concert back in the 70's you would have to agree with out a doubt that there was a fantastic surge in Sound & energy "THEN" that is missing in the slade of today. But the slade of today still can kick some serious ass to any band that stands in thier way. MAY YOUR MEMORY LIVE FOREVER! & KEEP ON ROCKIN! THE SNAZZ,California--USA
  • hey caskinner!?!? Noddy is the one!!! the Stones without Mick?? but i think your're NOT a real Rocker! MOVE OVER!

  • thats total dogs droopy bits m8. NODDY wasnt the one to start Slade that was Dave hill and Don powell ( best drummer in the world)

if noddy was the ONE why he leave?? ( i know the REAL reason) and NO i wont say it top you or anyone else cos its a private and deeply personal reason.

Apart from that noddy had a great voice and was a great singer but he cant do it anymore so its time to let him go and appreciate the new voice of SLADE Mal Mc Nulty

  • its a GREAT video and regardless of your pitiful views mal is the only replacement for Noddy, SLADE wasnt made on one person it was a group thing, and when Noddy left someone else had to take over the mantle and MAL is the only one who ever came close to noddy`s voice.

he isnt straining to sing he has to get over the noise of the music as well.

And for all those who thing SLADE was all NODDy your sad and very delusional.

  • You also have to remember that NEWCASTLE is where its NOT all at.

Beer does most of the talking .

  • I saw these at the Blackpool Punk festival on Saturday. Brilliant!

  • i was backstage m8 keeping an eye on the gear cos of some shady peeps in the vicinity i also drove Don to/from Stanstead to blackpool to make sure he arrived safely and that he could get home again quickly.

  • aye

  • it's over and out with slade. pitty!

  • sad sad sad

  • The fires gone out!

  • nag nag go see and hear them i have.4 times and they are great.

  • im afraid not. i really do wonder why anyone at all who actually loves the opriginal band can think such a thing. each to their won and all of course,

but its a travesty in my eyes;-(

  • I have to agree with Monsterpop. The heart of the band is no longer there. Jim was the musician, and Noddy had a unique voice. To see, or rather hear, what they've lost check out Jim's new album THERAPY.

  • hey mate

im startin to think you ARE jimmyLea;-) hehe

    you should be on commission;-)

  • I watch this and cringe. There really is no replacement for Noddy. I know Don & Dave have to make a living but have they ever listened to the playback ? Its awfull. Shame really. Best wishes to all the old fans out there, like me still living with their old memories of better and more tunefull days......

  • 1 million percent correct sadly;-(

  • hum....thumbs down....trash....pale...copy....dump it plz

  • Makes you realise how good Noddy was,

  • I wish Noddy and Jim would CUM BAK OME

  • a sad commentary on the legacy that was S L A D E

  • leaves me cold

  • thats hellish!

the only good thing about it is the intro,,,

    then its a massive letdown;-(

    SLADE R.I.P;-(

  • Thats not SLADE! You wanna spoil my day?

  • Total bollocks.

  • This is only half of Slade. The singer is better than the last clown they had but still sounds nothing like the real Noddy Holder and the Bass player only plays a quarter of the notes Jim Lea did.

  • I always loved Slade. What year is this from?

  • it was taken in newcastle on there merry xmas tour 2006

  • Saw Slade in Louisville in 71 or 72. Loved the show, actually sat on the edge of the stage in front of Noddy in his top hat. Marshall Tucker was the warm up band.

  • I agree! Nod takes sum beating!

  • same here

  • This singer just doesn't cut it for me.

  • i do agree there mate

  • oh, it was newcastle, thought it looked familier. nice one sladegame

  • excellent, brings back memories of newcastle in november. brill!!!

  • i shagged the drummer

  • i will pass on your regards

  • Amazing- the best live band ever!

  • i need another slade fix lol.. these make me want to be back at bilston ... oh well easter will be here eventualy an then got newark and clumber to look forward to an then maybe lincoln .. then the xmas tour .... oh well 2007 aint gonna be so bad lol

  • Great home video of Slade II - thanks so much for posting this, it's truly a gem. And wow, Dave Hill can still play with the best of them!

  • Total kick ass !
