  • Mine has sort of always been like this, it doesn't effect the phone in any negative way that I can think of so I have no problem with it.

  • you talk shit mine was fine out of the box. this problem has only occurred after I had dropped the phone multiple times.

  • espero que o eu demore a dar esse problema

  • same thing with my n95 but once you get used to it its not a problem at all

  • :L all nokia n95 have that its not a problem at all, its just a loose slider witch nokia garente to fix but it will make sliding harder, but remember there is no magnet in the nokia so its not like other slides, this is by far the best fone iv had or used and to see ppl hitting and even putting it under water is horrable and a waste of money, but dw about ur slider its ment to do it, if it wasnt wodnt u think nokia wod have fixed it by now?

  • i don't see the problem. it's the same thing on almost every slide nokia.

  • I just bought n95 8gb and it does exactly the same thing. If I only saw this video an hour ago.

I'm soooooo angry right now!!!!!!!!!! I want my money back!!!!!!

  • mine is ok

  • tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic :D

  • if really don't like it, why did you bought n95, we know his capabilities .

  • Its only a loose slider, get over it ffs!?!?!?!

  • /signed

  • same problem here...

  • so.

  • my keys don't work at all any off them, once it's on i can't turn it off, have to take the battery out, it's really annoying, it also keeps saying 'empty' over and over again for no reason, can someone tell me what it is so i can fix it please!!

  • if you take good care of it you wont have this problem

also that could be easily fixed

  • i take perfect care of mine, and after about a week, the same thing happened.

  • i have n95-1 with the same problem, it`s annoying when you type

  • ughh i have the same problem. i hate it. the phone was so solid when it was new and now it seems so flimsy and cheap with the noises it makes. =[

    someone help.

  • what are you trying to do? and what are you trying to show?

  • That's a slight problem , it can be annoying though. very nice , clean recording, graphic. What kind of camera have u used?

  • that's why i bought the n82...

  • Type in *#06# and look at digits number 7and 8 of your IMEI...10 = Finland, also 01 = Finland, 20 = Germany, 30 = Korea, 40 = China, 50 = Brazil, USA, Finland, 60 = HK, China, Mexico, 70 = Finland, 80 = Hungary, 91 = Finland

I have 01 and i don't have any problems wit my slider..i heard that if u have 00 than ur phone is maid in nokia factory in Finland so thats best

  • Mine has no problems with the slider, my dad's does. So I don't know. People need to know that for many people there is a problem with video recording, after about 5 seconds it starts to shutter.

  • to nie jest wada telefonu. sam posiadam taki fon i jestem z niego bardzo zadowolony i dla mnie takie luzy w obudowie to jest normalka

    Pozrawiam

  • Mine is also built in finland and its solid. zero slackness and no lateral movement, ive had it over a year and have had no problems with the slider in any way, shape or form.i'm very happy with it. just thought you'd like to know...

  • try a couple of bits of paper behide the battery cover it lifts it a bit....

  • This is not a problem. If the slider is tightened, the sliding movement would be hard to do. I think that's a normal movement. There are N95's with more movement, wich becomes a problem because with any vibration of the phone the loose noise is heard.

  • i have this on left down corner of slider but work only when its in "closed posision" when i open it, its stable so its not that much of a problem for me

  • This is ur big problem? :)

  • same for me....but to be honest I dont care because the phone rules anyway...

  • all nokia´s its have the same problem not only your nokiathe Slider its a problem of the company aim live in japan aim buy one nokia n95 8GB and the same problem the slider

  • i have nokia n95 8gb bought from T-mobile germany made in finland i don't seem to have any of these problems...+ it dosen't seam as such problem when you speak with someone you don't hit it with your finger all the time like that do you?

  • Mine is made in Finland and also has the exact same problem. It is also loose when the keypad is revealed, and moving to the sides a little bit.

  • i have the exact same problem...

    but no worries so far...

and yes, nokia does say that its nothing to worry about..

i'm a member of many mobile related forums, and almost everyone who has a n95 (including me) have this "problem"..

    btw,

you can always fix it..you need tape, a special screw driver, and some skills..

some guy made a really nice video on how to fix it..look it up on youtube..

i think its called "n95 slider problem fix" or something..

  • what kind stupid shity video is that

theres nothing wrong with your phone punkass

theres a poor people like to have this phone if you dont like it just give to them

  • nit pickers lol :-) xx

  • my buttons have stopped working on my n95 8gb please help

  • i will give u £180 for it if u dont want it ok

  • if you don wan this phone..please give me..hehehe

  • can some of you tell me where your hones have been made? i got an 8gb yesterday, made in finland - no problems

  • I think mine was made in Korea, I just lifted the battery abit and saw that. Mine was fine when i got it it was only after a couple of days when it started. I think my next phone will be a HTC atm they are much better.

  • But look this time where from the mobile phone comes.

  • Mine is made in finland as well. My slider is a bit loose on the right side but it's not a big deal. I just ignore it.

  • my one is like that

  • My is not that worse but it is a bit loose on the right side. It is made in finland.

  • its for when you either run out of minutes or credit you can morse code your message or phone call

  • Hahahaha big laaaawl man xD

  • i have the same problem with my n95 8gb

  • i want to buy an n95 but what the hell are these viedos about someone plz explain.

  • Most n95's have a loose slider and you will only notice it if you care about the little details on it but if you want if because of its features its still a good phone, im just saying they should have made the quility better for the price you pay for it.

  • Ive got mine today. It was like that when i opened the pakage:( Im saaaad....

  • no 1 cares it dont break it just a slite loose screen big wooop i aint boverd bout mine

  • dude the slider is fine ur just wierd! nobody's perfect! my n90's camera does that too but what's the problem? ... you suck

  • just watch some videos here, in youtube, to know how to fix it ;)

  • dude i know how u feel, i bought this sony ericsson slider and it had that same problem and i exchanged for another, same problem again. i went through like 3 phones, so annoying.

  • what problem are u talking about??????????

  • wow ur picky it looks and sounds fine

  • Got mine yeaterday, is horrible to live with when you´ve spend that much money. I feel your pain.

  • same here..got mines yesterday and it wobbles..im PISSED OFF!!!!!...i spent $600 on a phone with a crapy silder???...and i opened up the outside shell and the metal rails have phillip head screws and the rail says v2 on it

  • Haven't got any other problems?...

  • is that a fuckign problem to you?go fuck ur self stupid fuck

  • and btw, we cannot use the slider to end the call, is that right? I looked all over through the setting menus, could not find it anywhere. the slider can slide up to answer the call or just press the green button to answer.

  • theres a free S60 app you can install that does that. yeah i know-the feature should be built in to the phone, but hey don't blame Nokia for that, they don't make the OS.

  • haha i agreed "Manufactured that way" another way of saying "We don't know how to fix that shit" LOL. Majority of the phones are having the slider problem. I am scared to take the phone apart and to fix it, not very handy when comes down to fixing stuff.

  • You idiot mine 1 day old Nokia N95 8GB has the same and there is nothing wrong with that...

  • man ther are no perfect thig

  • THANKS MAN

  • Mine doesn't do that, I have it since 3 months ago and it's perfect, I guess you feel frustrated about it, sorry.

  • Duuh open space i bet it wil get only better if you tick nd shit on it how many phones yoou raped making this vid?

  • lol, you probably want it so tight, that you won't be able to open it anymore.

so what if it moves a little, it won't fall off.

  • its not a problem , every n95 8gb is like that, mine was brand new and still had that

  • Nokia has started to fix that problem. New phones are equipped with metal sliders and if you take your phone to maintenance they will replace old sliders with metal ones.

  • started when? in all countries? and how do you know what sliders you have?

  • Lol thats not a ''PROBLEM OMG MY SLIDER MOVES FOR 0.0000000001 inches or 0.001 centimeters THATS TOO BAD I CANT LIVE ANYMORE''

  • The last phone I had 6500 slide even has dead pixels! It was very visible when the whole screen display black. (not off)

I really hope Nokia can improve their QC and build better phone..

  • I'm a mobile phone fanatic.. I change about 6 phones average per year cos I appreciate the technology..

I just bought N95 8GB yesterday (30/05/08) and yes, I'm that type of fella who is very meticulous about the build quality of a phone. I understand how you feel..

Nowadays Nokia QC is getting from bad to worse.

  • phone is so sexy lol

  • idiot du bist net ganz dicht das rum getacker habe das handy schon ne ewigkeit und es ist mir sogar mal die treppe runtergefallen und ich habe das problem net

  • w dupe sobie tego palca wsadź

  • u know, same with mine actually, the bottom right and top left part moves

  • hello i want that theme sooooooooo bad

  • love sliders...but they really really suck =(

  • its really easy to fix it jst put double tape at the back of the slider

  • this phone is expensive u idiot! buying a new one is just an idiot way to do like u.fuck off!

  • this phone is expensive u idiot! buying a new one is just an idiot way to do like u.fuck off!

  • i have this kind of situation on my 3-weeks old Nokia N95 8GB. i went to the dealer of this phone and ask about this loose slider but they said it is meant to be built like that. i wonder how the Nokia Quality Control (QC) cannot even realize with this problem? i am thinking to buy a T6 screwdriver to tighten some loose screw on the back of the slider but i'm not sure whether it will actually work.any suggestion??

  • nokia N95-8GB Loose Slider fix

    search this on youtube

  • who cares :S

  • only little....who cares

  • I have the same problem..but I insured the phone, so while it works, it's all good, but as soon as it breaks, home to get a new one. I have one 2 other problems with it though. I can't play the sound on Youtube mobile. The video works, but no sound. And some freeware programs don't want to instal on the phone. If anybody can give a suggestion..?

    Thanks

  • It's a shame for Nokia that after having a loose and wobbly slider in N95-1, they still manufacture the variants of N95, in this case N95 8GB, and most probably N95-3, with the same problem. And the sister of N95, which is N96, has also double slider. They, for some reason, insist on this double slider mechanism. It is not useless but IMHO, not quite useful as well. If Nokia wants to maintain this concept, that it should manufacture it flawlessly. After all these device are 800 dollars or so!

  • no ive got that phone and mine is not lose

  • that's not a problem, they are all like this!!

I'm having trouble shooting videos since I've upgraded the new firmware! :(

  • wow amazing camera.

I thought this slider problem was solve in n95 8gb. I got a n95-1 and it has the same problem.

  • What camera did you use to film this?

  • Sony HC-3 It's a Hi-Def Cam

  • I have found a way to fix your slider problem 100%.....i just need to give your phone a slight adjustment with my sledge hammer, it will never make another..LOL

  • Its gotten to the stage where when i get a call the whole covers rattles! So yeah it is a problem.

  • ok,ok im sorry.giveme ahug,i know you want to...ok after looking at the vid again i saw some flexing i will give you that..but hell i can do stuff like that with any phone ive owned..if its a vibration prob then i would send that bastard back and have them fix it. yes its alot of money and im sorry i was having some fun in the text directed at you..like i said return it.

  • go from there. hell im liable to be posting a vid just like this in a couple a weeks.then i will say"DAMNIT THAT DDBBoylol WAS TELLIN THE TRUTH"!then we can form a coalition.i want to bethe leader though.

  • i like how one side sounds different that the other...and he thinks theres a point to be made...well gee...hmm...thats a tuff one

  • 10x mate .. i was realy watin for a reply cause im eager to get the n95 8gb ... and bdw ive already checked your videos they are cool

    10x duddeeeee

  • lol dude how much tighter do you want the slider to be? until it wont slide anymore? LOL

  • hey i want to buy a n series mobile, which one should i choose i like the nokia 95 8b,but after seeing this video im confused so should i buy it or leave it?

  • Buddy buy it if you can handle this, honestly i cant if i had enough money to buy a new phone i would. Maybe the Sony ericsson K850i. Sony has never done me wrong with phones.

Maybe if i got this phone for like $500 i would be OK with it but it being over $1000 it feels like your being ripped off hard!

  • Ive got the n95 and the n95 8gb, they both have the slider problem, but the n95 is much worse! but i would say that i reckon the camera/video on the n95 seems to be better than the n95 gb, strange as i thought they were the same!

  • im planning to buy the nokia n95 8gb.. is this bug so annoying? i know the features of the phone are super but id like to know if the slider problem may discourage me to buy it

  • I got my Nokia 95 8GB 5 day's ago and I have the same problem, just called 02 and they going to send out an replacment, like you DDBoylol I am a tech buff and since the day I recieved have looked after it well, very disapointed with the build quality though. Why am I getting another one you ask? because the features put other phones on the market to shame, and of course my previously gloating N95-1 owner mates! Nice video to expose what Nokia should work on the next batch!

  • I thought i would have gotten use to i by now but i haven't, i just sux that nokia aims these types of phone to ppl who appreciate just what technology can do but don't realize that those ppl will see this as a big flaw and will move away from nokia even if other phones have less functions but better quality build.

Like WTF you cant even charge this phone thought USB? The last 3 phones i had you could charge thought USB.

It's the little things that matter a lot.

  • stop being so rough with the phone dumb ass ive got one of these phones and i havnt got a problem!!!

  • to all you guys who are curious about why Nokia two-way sliders always have a gap and to the author of the video:

two-way sliders are meant to be this way. this is not Nokia or anyone else fault, it's pure construction physics. two way sliders (and most of one-way sliders) are ALWAYS LIKE THAT. it's not because Nokia uses bad plastic or wheels, it's needed to lower the pressure between two sides and make the life of your slider a bit longer.

  • I agree, that Nokia should announce it somehow, cause a lot of people don't know about it, but you should be more careful too and look for reviews for two-way sliders before you buy first. almost in every review there is a word about that "problem". it's as simple as that.

I have a N95 and it has the same "slider problem" (which is again - not a bug, but feature).

  • Mine is exactly like that to! :(

It is annoying, makes the buttons below the screen feel really jerky.

    Great video quality!

  • I think you just had a lemon of the bunch. I've had this phone for almost 2 months now. Slider is still excellent. I dropped it the 2nd day i got in on black tar; only a scratch.

  • my friend had that problem on his original n95. he found a website on how to fix it yourself. search for it on google.

  • Omg thats gay. I don't have this problem but I've found out that I have a few scratches on the front housing! I only had this phone for a week as well!

  • Did you get a refund or replacement?

  • Not one of the two i still have this phone. Nokia said that the phone should be like that

  • I'm having the same problem

  • That depends on a user.....

e.g. If you buy a new car and you dont take good care of it, it can be damaged in two days.....

    got it....

well there are other n95 8gb users who hav this fone almost for 2 months and it is working as good as a new one....

  • dude you could not imaging how well i've been looking after this phone. If i were one of those ppl who didn't take care of this phone i prob wouldn't care if the slider was loose. Coz i love electronic devices so much i like it to work 100%

  • bro, is this finland made? or the ones from asia?

  • Yeah it just sux that you can buy like a good laptop for the same price and you would defently get much better quility build. Mite just be that it's small. My Samsung D900 had a nice slider and i dont there where many or any complaints about their slider phones.

  • I know what it's like, but most of these phones are like that including mine. Very very poor build quality by Nokia.

  • worse video ever award !!!!!

  • omg

  • try asking other users about this problem

  • I've had it for 6 days now.

  • how long did u hav this phone?
