you have to watch every episode to fully understand its essency. I chared the same opinion as you do before downloading all seasons, but I started to love it.
Jacob's body was burnt so many it will take on his form, also remember how many people in this series have been burnt. I think the noises it makes are the last sounds a person heard before they died (Plane crash, wild animals, etc).
Well looks like some of my theories i've shared here can't be true, it seems to be clearer now that evil Locke/Man in black is the Smoke monster! I have a theory that this monster is made of ashes from dead people, that's how it can use ghosts like puppets, it turns it's smokey ashes back into a physical being, only it's not really them they're being controlled. So technically they aren't spirits they are like zombies
I finally convinced my dad to start watching this show last week. He always thought he would hate Lost, but he's watched Season's 1,2 and part of 3 in 7 days. He's more obsessed than I am.

Lost is wicked brilliant to even begin with words! all the diverse aspects that somehow piece together and all the characters with their own story that somehow piece together that is mad brilliance at it's best. The story is aspiring in every episode because no matter how hard we try we cannot conclude the finale it's to genius! Lost is truly the best forever.
It took my friend three years to convince me into watching Lost, I was adamant I wouldn't enjoy it. Polar bears and black smoke monsters on an Island? You can imagine what I was thinking...
But for the past three years i've being so addicted to this show it is un-real!

OMG I just thought about something. The "fake" john said to richard to say to the real john that he has to die to save everything. I think the fake john is the bad guy. Als you see jacob talking to a guy on theisland who says he wants to kill jacob. He and the real guy en the monster are 1 team I think.
if you mean MIB instead of Mark, then you are absolutely correct about that. Great sleuthing. But i am willing to wager that they don't just leave the real character of Locke untouched before the season's over. People will want some sort of closure as will the writers.
check out 1:20, M.I.B. stands for the Man in Black as he is referred to on most fansites for lost, he is the guy who we presume to have possessed locke's body upon searching for what he referred to as the "loophole" in his killing of jacob
The man in black is a time traveler, if he is the same being who appears as Christian. I think he must have possessed Locke's dead body and then travel back in time to before it was found so he could trick everyone.
Yeah the only problem is that there is also the dead body as well, so either one is a possessed Locke from a different time, or it was the Monster taking on his appearance... or something

Mrs Hawking says "for the first time in a long time..i dont know whats going to happen next".....and whys that?-because her son Dan Faradays journal has no more entrys in it, she no longer has any idea of events to come. When the losties all get back to 2007/8 on island...no one will know the future (unless Jacob/MIB are some kind of omniscient beings , or from the future themselves and the island is their time machine--well, it sure behaves like one, moving through time and space!

Yes brother! think about it- she gave him the book at his graduation, he filled it up until the point he came to the island on the freighter,he then time travelled back in time to 1974/77 where he gets shot by his own mum and passes her the journal that is full of all the info he has obtained about the island /its special properties and time travel.His lifes work is in that book and thats why Ellie always knows her son must always come to the island,despite it ending in his death at her own hand

i think its true the numbers are the valencetti equation (as described in the arg), but not everybody took part or has even heard of the arg's, so if this is the answer to the numbers it needs to be incorporated into season 6.
I think we will be seeing something of the Hanso's this season, may even see them come to the island after the incident. It says on the blast door map that a delegation was sent to the swan in 1983. It also mentions the valencetti on it so it is canonical
I think the Valenzetti equation represents what Jacob and his nemesis were discussing about "it only ends once". The man in black thinks mankind is destined to destroy itself, but Jacob is trying to change the future.
yeah id agree, well, they described the equation as an "equation predicting the exact date mankind would extinguish itself (by various means..pandemic/nuclear war etc)". Each of the 6 numbers represent core factors affecting the equation, which the work on the island was aimed at changing any one of these numbers. When Jacob said "everything up till then is progress" i think hes referring to this game/loop and that each time its played he gets nearer to the pinnacle of progress he requires of us
I never really understood the equation but what you said there makes it clearer. I reckon that humanity has been destroyed before already but every time it happens Jacob uses the Island to go back in time to change it, but the dude in black is sick of this and that's why he wants to kill Jacob. Also I bet that this nemesis guy was John in a past life, when the real Locke died his past consciousness somehow returned to his body. Reincarnation has been hinted at in the series.
Thank god! someone who makes sense and doesnt think this new locke is some kind of shapeshifter or the black smoke! I think you have hit the nail on the head, locke has always been this guy, mib, but its took time for him to get reincarnated back into the right body, which is why he said to jacob "if you only knew what ive had to go through to get here".This is why johns always felt the islands his destiny. And yeah reincarnation was hinted at with the anagram on Bens van (s.4) 'Canton Rainier'.
Yeah I don't think this is someone else in Locke's body, it's just that the Locke we've always known had no memory of who he once was. There is apparently something meaning "reincarnation" in some of the heiroglyphs and it fits with the whole Egyptian theme of Lost.
And whats the chances that if everyone, or at least 80% of people believe that flocke is a shapeshifting smoke monster that its going to be true anyway?
Ive never really seen anyone have a correct guess at whats coming next on lost, the writers are just too good at misdirection. Most people cite the fact flocke disappeared off while ben was being judged, so this means he is smokey. Ive never seen hurley and the stay-puft man in the same room but that doesnt mean they are one and the same!

you can't take anything John says seriously he is just a sad old man that was being played by the evil John. Ben killed John because he mentions Eloise Hawkin. as far as Ben Knew Eloise is Widmores Husband who wants to kill Ben so he could not tell Widmore his where about or that he was in town. Ben might have lerned that they were splits vill and decided to trust her so he could go back to the island.

I can understand you. Ther's fake John Locke, Ben, CharlesWidmore that are bad, and Eloise Hawking, Illeana/Bram and Richard Alpert aren't exactly friends either. The real trouble will come soon.

OMG I just thought about something. The "fake" john said to richard to say to the real john that he has to die to save everything. I think the fake john is the bad guy. Als you see jacob talking to a guy on theisland who says he wants to kill jacob. He and the real guy en the monster are 1 team I think.

if you mean MIB instead of Mark, then you are absolutely correct about that. Great sleuthing. But i am willing to wager that they don't just leave the real character of Locke untouched before the season's over. People will want some sort of closure as will the writers.

check out 1:20, M.I.B. stands for the Man in Black as he is referred to on most fansites for lost, he is the guy who we presume to have possessed locke's body upon searching for what he referred to as the "loophole" in his killing of jacob

The man in black is a time traveler, if he is the same being who appears as Christian. I think he must have possessed Locke's dead body and then travel back in time to before it was found so he could trick everyone.

exactly!! Two solid flesh and blood Lockes existing in one place and time. MIB isnt a ghost or apparition, its another Locke, so how do you explain that!!

Yeah I think it's unlikely that the fake Locke who was with Sun and the Others all that time was really the Monster, just doesn't seem right. The man in black is probably like someone who can summon the Monster though, that's how he knows where to find it and all

Mrs Hawking says "for the first time in a long time..i dont know whats going to happen next".....and whys that?-because her son Dan Faradays journal has no more entrys in it, she no longer has any idea of events to come. When the losties all get back to 2007/8 on island...no one will know the future (unless Jacob/MIB are some kind of omniscient beings , or from the future themselves and the island is their time machine--well, it sure behaves like one, moving through time and space!

Yep, I think you're right. Weird how the cabin can shift location and so can the ghost people, like Christian who can appear and talk to Locke way back before he even existed.

that's a good observation. she did get the book from her dead son. she was there in Desmonds flashbacks because Dan mentioned he was going to use Demond Hume as his constant. damn good catch.

Yes brother! think about it- she gave him the book at his graduation, he filled it up until the point he came to the island on the freighter,he then time travelled back in time to 1974/77 where he gets shot by his own mum and passes her the journal that is full of all the info he has obtained about the island /its special properties and time travel.His lifes work is in that book and thats why Ellie always knows her son must always come to the island,despite it ending in his death at her own hand

i think its true the numbers are the valencetti equation (as described in the arg), but not everybody took part or has even heard of the arg's, so if this is the answer to the numbers it needs to be incorporated into season 6.
I think we will be seeing something of the Hanso's this season, may even see them come to the island after the incident. It says on the blast door map that a delegation was sent to the swan in 1983. It also mentions the valencetti on it so it is canonical

I think the Valenzetti equation represents what Jacob and his nemesis were discussing about "it only ends once". The man in black thinks mankind is destined to destroy itself, but Jacob is trying to change the future.

yeah id agree, well, they described the equation as an "equation predicting the exact date mankind would extinguish itself (by various means..pandemic/nuclear war etc)". Each of the 6 numbers represent core factors affecting the equation, which the work on the island was aimed at changing any one of these numbers. When Jacob said "everything up till then is progress" i think hes referring to this game/loop and that each time its played he gets nearer to the pinnacle of progress he requires of us

I never really understood the equation but what you said there makes it clearer. I reckon that humanity has been destroyed before already but every time it happens Jacob uses the Island to go back in time to change it, but the dude in black is sick of this and that's why he wants to kill Jacob. Also I bet that this nemesis guy was John in a past life, when the real Locke died his past consciousness somehow returned to his body. Reincarnation has been hinted at in the series.

Thank god! someone who makes sense and doesnt think this new locke is some kind of shapeshifter or the black smoke! I think you have hit the nail on the head, locke has always been this guy, mib, but its took time for him to get reincarnated back into the right body, which is why he said to jacob "if you only knew what ive had to go through to get here".This is why johns always felt the islands his destiny. And yeah reincarnation was hinted at with the anagram on Bens van (s.4) 'Canton Rainier'.

Yeah I don't think this is someone else in Locke's body, it's just that the Locke we've always known had no memory of who he once was. There is apparently something meaning "reincarnation" in some of the heiroglyphs and it fits with the whole Egyptian theme of Lost.

And whats the chances that if everyone, or at least 80% of people believe that flocke is a shapeshifting smoke monster that its going to be true anyway?
Ive never really seen anyone have a correct guess at whats coming next on lost, the writers are just too good at misdirection. Most people cite the fact flocke disappeared off while ben was being judged, so this means he is smokey. Ive never seen hurley and the stay-puft man in the same room but that doesnt mean they are one and the same!
