My father was a contractor in L.A. County, and as a legal citizen, could not afford the child support assigned to him. (His business was consistently under-bid by illegal labor) Because of this, I personally suffered. (He now owes so much to the state that as a young adult, I must support him.) I feel that this has severely hindered my ability to survive economically for the duration of my life.

If there's one thing we've learned in the last 25 years, it's that awarding criminals with the object of their unlawful conduct doesn't deter illegal immigration. And as far as paying taxes, so what? Some illegals pay taxes. OK. So do some child molestors, burglars and drunk drivers.
