But I guarantee you that getting smashed in rugby hurts more because of the lack of pads.

You don't have to be as athletic to play union. It's a fact. I'm sure the top level players work hard at their fitness, but leuage players work much harder during a game. An advantage union has at lower levels is that there's a position for all body types and they don't have to do as much running.

Comparing League players against NFL players in fitness is stupid, you just cant compare it, after 70 minutes of league, players get tired, NFL players are constantly going on and off, so they always play at their peak, you wont see NFL players exhausted.
and NFL players arent any less manly than league players because they are padded up with a helmet, because there arent as many Tackling rules (head-high, chicken wing, grapple tackle) in the NFL, just the Holding and facemask... think about it

Good on him for leaving the NRL he didn't need those users anyway. I love both rugby and league. They are both intense and physically demanding. League still hasn't reached its international peak. According to IRB figures, rugby union is played in over 100 countries spanning six continents by men and women of all ages - thats something League can only dream of. But for me I think Rugby union is where my heart is. Go the ALLBLACKS!

ive had the chance to participate in both sportz, not on a professional level but know both games well enough(rugby union aswell). For me league and union are much more enjoyable. far better sports in my opinion.

Union has NOTHING on League for hits.
Look at the Super 14 this year, 3 rounds in and not even a single hit worth mentioning.

There's no doubt that if Union removed the gay wrapping rule there would be plenty of big hits. But until they allow shoulder charges the tackling will always be soft in comparison to League.

League is clearly the harder game. It's not a democratic decision. Union's popularity owes much to it's origins and it's relationship with the British class system. It's also an easier game to play for unathletic people.

You don't have to be as athletic to play union. It's a fact. I'm sure the top level players work hard at their fitness, but leuage players work much harder during a game. An advantage union has at lower levels is that there's a position for all body types and they don't have to do as much running.

I know him from playing rugby union, he was fucking terrible, I was playing against his club and he got brought on the field in the last 2 minutes of the game, he proceeded to give away a penalty and then subsequently made a knock on which resulted in us scoring the winning try. On the last play of the game he got rucked in the balls & had to get a testicle removed. That's why he's so bitter. Last i heard he lives with is mum on the dole
