I could be wrong but looks like the HKS Hyper muffler... One of their louder exhausts and sound amazing on imprezas... I had a silent hi power on mine.. Quiet when driving around.. Good rasp when you hoof it

I agree, exhaust can have an effect on your performance, a clean well made exhaust will let the exhaust air out smoothly and quickly letting the engine be able to work with out its ass full of smoke

can someone answer my question? I have a 2000 ford taurus and want to change the rear silencer. Will it make a nice exhaust? Is it a rear silencer or a middle silencer that makes the difference in exhaust? Should be better than the stock one right? Im thinking to get one that is lower than like $150. The rule of thumb with most car mods is the more you do the better it can be. There is no point in working your way from the engine to the tail pipe - you will see more of a difference going from the tailpipe back to the engine. So cheapest would be rear silencer and tailpipe. Afraid I can't help on price as I'm from the UK.

Sound wise, generally more valves a car has the more of a rumble the exhaust note will be.

The 'middle silencer' if you are referring is the buldge in the piping?

That is known as a resonator. Most exhausts have them because: The cut off highway drone, they slighly quiet down the exhaust, they give it more tone.

Take it off and it will be raspy.

The primary factor in noise is your muffler. Resonators and piping also contribute.

$150 will buy you a ricer exhaust.

You get what you pay for. Save up for at least $300 for a decent exhaust.

if u compare a 1995 supra to a 1995 evo ther different cars evo is a saloon for rally and supra is more of a gt car so ther both good but round a track they will have similar times and the evo may take lead as it has superb traction round corners but they are two very good cars

but for the evo V supra, there built for two different environments str8 out.. put a supra in a rally comp it wood be terrible compared to evo, put a evo in a straight track and the supra would be 10 seconds in front..
