  • can you provide and instructional ?

man I'd love to play that one !

  • when dave does that pull off, what do u do? he pulls off from 5 to 4, what do u do during that part?

  • @Gordonx24x I do what you see me doing HAHA!

  • @darzik what do u pull off from?

  • dang, nice sound and playing man!

  • Actually, THANKS A BUNCH! I could never get that middle jam down. On the LWS and live shows of JTR, you can't hear what Dave plays, and it's hard to get a video to show his hands. So big thanks for putting this up there!

  • wait a second, is that the Chet Atkins Dave used to play?

  • Nope. The Chet Atkins SST and Chet Atkins SST Studio have stars on the necks for inlays, not dots.

Like he said, this is a Line 6 Variax 700. It's a guitar that can simulate many different guitars.

  • Sick sounding accoustic man!

  • your acoustic actually sounds like an electric, it's weird lol. Nice job though!

  • That's because it's a Line 6 Variax guitar that is a solid body guitar which uses Line 6 modeling technology to make it sound like many different guitars (electrics, acoustics, 12 strings, baritone, banjo, some allow alternate tunings without having to tune the guitar to them, and some have a Sitar simulation that models an old guitar from the 60's that was made to sound like a Sitar).

  • you the man

  • Please tab more Dave!

  • Well done adapting. Dave plays a lot of unconventional chord forms and progressions, and you'll probably hear a lot of "thats not how dave plays it", but there is always more than one way!! Nice work.

  • The funny thing is there is only ONE chord I changed.... and admit it. Everyting else is exactly how Dave plays it :-)

  • Yeah, I saw that. I do the same on "The Stone"...don't change any notes, but Dave uses his pinky finger on the A string, 5th fret at the end of the main riff...I just use the open D.

  • i do the same...

  • ya ive always wondered why dave plays the 5th fret on A. it seems a lot simpler just to stay with ur open D. any insight?

  • sounds just perfect!!

can you tab it somehow, cause i can't really follow... would be sweet.

    take it easy

  • that was great, especially for how difficult a song John the revolter is

  • Lmao, just for correction: John the Revelator. And this song isn't John the Revelator. It's an evolution of that song, and imho, a much better song :D

Cheers, darkzik on another -amazing- tutorial/performance!

  • very well done!

  • Rockin, love your vid. Nice and clear.

  • Bad ass man!!!

  • that "HAVE FUN" at the end meant so much to me. think about it.

  • hmmmm...thinking....

  • you nailed that - made a tough riff look easy

  • dude the stone is my favorite song too! did you make a video on that yet? or why dont you play it for us :D:D

  • Your sound is fookin amazing mate.

    Whats your gear?

    JTR rocks

  • I'm playing with a Line 6 Variax 700 acoustic on the 12 string setting going through a Line 6 Rifftracker.

  • Nice dude

  • ur fricken amazing

  • Thanks for the great pointers
