  • Facebook verses (sic) Unthink = FU?

This feels like a school project from the '90s.

  • Finally, a social networking site for people who weren't quite hot enough to get hired for Benetton ads!

  • @ziweiyuan

nice one! thanks for making my monday morning.

  • Unthink Unthink

  • Am I crazy or is unthink still yet another website that I can use to share with people I don't know or care about?

  • Quizás nadie entienda lo que digo, pero... esta red social es un caos. Está mal organizada y estructurada.

  • i think unthink died. can't connect.

  • This is stupid.

  • Good one. But there is one another called GLOBIAL, It is real and about the change the way the trade works!

  • I found an even better social networking tool on my computer. Even though it's right there, it's quite hard to find for many. Here's how to find it: Click START (bottom corner of the screen), then click TURN OFF COMPUTER, then click SHUT DOWN. There's an app on this network (if used correctly) that allows you to have a more realistic interaction with others, plus the graphics are noticeably better, it can be quite a bit healthier and so much more exciting. You don't even have to sign up!

  • Who owns the software that you use to send your messages, to create your messages, to manage your postings, to manage your contacts, to manage your lists, your appointments, your links, your bookmarks . . . YOUR ACCOUNT in THEIR SERVERS. THEY DO; who you called "GREEDY GIANTS." You set up an account in THEIR facilities ... then THEY OWN YOU.

  • we need OPENSOURCE social networking! please and thank you.

  • Too Slick....UThink I'm stupid?

  • As Tyler Durden would say, you are not your social network. Stop posing it as a lifestyle option or something, it's not that important.

  • too mainstream

  • this shit was just... annoying and corny.

  • i think it is a great alternative, i mean i just read the covenant and privacy policy and it seems very transparent, i dont mind it being complicated, ill get the hang of it sooner or later after all its still beta

  • The home page is complicated and busy looking,, makes me think too much.

  • Yet, they're using Google YouTube to advertise Unthink. That's just Unthinkable...

  • How is unthink different? It isn't. They just want to make money as you network with your friends, family, coworkers, and strangers. Same as facebook and g+ so just keep using whatever you are using and don't fall for cheap advertising.

  • This is a very well-done video.

  • it made me think twice instead of unthink :)

  • I was about to close the tab then I saw boobs 1:33

  • What's a Facebook?

  • busted unthinks privacy policy, they will directly give your info Brands can receive valuable information about their subscribers and extensive analytics, without ever violating anyone’s privacy. This way, your brand can access anonymous lifestyle profiles that your subscribers willingly create in order to enable you to communicate relevant information to them.

on another part of the policy what is meant by the world Anglican is this part of a church

  • I'm writing this comment from hospital, having watched the above video I cringed so hard I displaced four vertebrae and then shat myself.

  • This tells me absolutely nothing

  • "Come on world, let's write our own story".

Yeah... because storys are written ... online.

So... living in an online world is fine.

"Break free" by moving to a different "social" network, but keep feeding your egoistical behaviour (trying to "stand out", having "spotlights" etc.)?

    What a revolution.

"I pity the foo" who thinks that any other "social" network, won't do the same with the data that you keep providing them. Just a trap for those who are dissapointed from "fb", "g+" and such.

  • This makes me want to create a Facebook account.

  • How about if I don't participate in any online social network? There. Problem solved.

  • I like the fact that i had to wait 3 days to login only for a very slow connection, and I do not really considered Mark Z to be a greedy person he has donated a lot of money. On Facebook there is settings to control your own privacy. So I'm not impressed. next doors idea is better.

  • @jarwt what's nextdoors idea?

  • @westproductions100 Specifically market a network geared to communicating local communities, i finally got onto unthink and i was not impressed. I personally know mark z and he is a good person with no intention to harm anyone

  • @jarwt btw the reason for the slow thing you described is cause their servers were overloaded

  • This is actually a good site. not gonna lie.

  • I like idea behind UNTHINK but this advert doesn't convey it in the best possible way. Its excruciatingly poor and may kill off interest before it begins to gain eminence. A shame. Ditch the advert, reinvent while it is still in beta-phase.

  • here one thing guys. facebook was here first and it will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be here. i dont like more then you do even though i use it. no mather what you do, facebook will take the lead for social network

  • @gunnar045 actually... myspace was here first (response: Mywhat?) :P

  • @PicklesParodyPalace yeah but who was using that xD haha

  • @gunnar045 panic at the disco ;D lmao

  • Humphhhhh the site is interesting enough. Complicated as hell... but interesting.

  • wow, dumbest ad i've ever seen.. and this is coming from a guy who isn't all too crazy about facebook.

  • Kinda ironic you posted this on YouTube. The service looks incredibly uninspired.

  • don't sign up for another one. quit the ones your on now, FIRST!!!

  • Are people who need to subjected to this amount of catechism really the people UNTHINK is trying to get in their social network?

I find the UNTHINK network a really great idea, but their advertising and promotional stuff really lack even the slightest hint of minimalism needed to convince people of joining, in my opinion. Or, as holdyourspoon put it, "it just voids the message".

  • FU? Talking trees? High-pitched asian chicks? Are these people on drugs or just pushers to 13 year olds?

  • omg.the black dude with braids in the end is SO sexxy! <3

  • fucking love it. :) ignore the idiots that haven't even tried it or researched anything about it. let them keep their facebooks.

  • its a real dumb ad with stupid kid like animations

dont think the network is gonna go far with this kinda adevertising

and as pointed out by others...its a real dumb name for a social network

  • 1.33 blond girl in pink pants and nice rack is hooot! any1 know her name? its porn time for me.

  • Unthink = MySpace.

    Proof is at 1:30

  • 1) I hate the name. 2) I hate the layout. 3) I've heard more people complain about ads on YouTube than on FB. 4) From what I've been reading, the brands will be paying Unthink for the privilege to be sponsored by users, but users only see interactions from the brand if they feel like it. If I were a brand I'd be going "no fucking way."

  • How hokey. I don't think they thought this one through very well...

  • @josephgut "hokey" is the perfect word for this video. It just voids the message.

  • Comment removed

  • Probably the most retarded video I have ever seen... Not making a profit off of its consumers? That has to happen in order for a site to continue to generate profit... Duh. They don't even charge the consumers, it is just the ads that are on the side buahahaha

  • What? Probably

  • I like the concept of a different social network.

But Unthink is terribly executed and politically-slanted, likely to be slapped by Apple with a couple of trademark infringements for things like "iEndorse" and just not likely to cause even a ripple in Facebook or G+'s oceans. Don't bother signing up, IMO.

  • @shelleydelayne ever hear of a self-fulfilling prophecy?

  • Unthink to me implies I can't think for myself. I don't have to think about anything ? I just don't get the name. FB may have it's problems but it's far more popular than the old myspace.

  • This video is so lame

  • Break free? From what exactly? Facebook never forced you to use its free service.

  • Diaspora is another option to FB not sure if it's ready yet tho.

Plus if you are interested in online privacy check out TOR or getCocoon com. Both will stop you from getting tracked.

  • oh fuck... this might be a scam

  • how can I get a invite code :( please!

  • how can I get a invite code :(

  • Really really lame. Concept and spot.

  • UNLIKE !

MY INVITE CODE ! where is it?

  • Terrific! The chick has talent too!

  • .

way to come up with the worst advertisement possible

    .

  • Lame. Couldn't even get a good domain name.

  • This is exactly what my ex told me when we broke up.

  • @TinieblaGriz then you must have some kind of mental problem...

  • Honey, anyone can call u a Dumb F*&K...doesn't necessarily have to be on a social network.

  • It's the hipster of social networks! -facepalm-

  • Great vid! :))

  • Must try out hehe

  • Why'd the girl on the left show off her leg at the end ... she might really want to (F)(U) ... yeah, you!

  • Hey! Is that the daughter of the chick in Wayne's World?

  • great ideal but if you start to put pop ups and start to do stuff your saying your not going to then every one will turn how do you plan on paying for servers with out sponsors and or any way of making actual money off the website">.>??

  • read there privacy statement. they dont keep cookies only for sign in.and the info u put is kept in usa.

  • what an appropriate name and color scheme...green *cough* ...

  • Unthink will be making money of corporate sponsorships......just like Facebook... don't think about it, unthink about it... it's the same thing, different label. This is the U.S. NOTHING is free, there's always a price, and it isn't always money.

  • @youasked4it2 dude yea they might make money off it but the hole point is how facebook and google both make it so you can't say what you really want to say, and post pictures if you want them to, more like they have huge rules that kinda makes fbook suck, and also people don't spy on you awsome but you can't always tell though and no pop ups, and if they do start witch in order to pay for servers they have to learn how to make money off a website or it will always freeze up and crash3thumsup2 fu

  • @twhite1288 Unfortunately, as a company, they will have to show increasing amounts of revenue to actually make it. If they want to compete and still offer a free service, ad revenue might be one of the only ways they do it. Advertisers are increasing demanding more information to target their audience. From a legal stand point SOME things (not all) are necessary to avoid lawsuits. For example, facebook does not allow nude photos. Why? children are on the service. Im not justifyn, I'm just sayn.

  • This video would have been so much better if it was done topless.

  • Call me a fuddy-duddy. Call me a conforming non-conformist, but I like the video and I like the message. I even like the name, "Unthink."

Am I going to rush out and join? Doubtful, As someone here brilliantly put it, "If you don't want it out, don't put it online."

It's a pity that the people who take the time to criticize cannot take the time to learn how to spell or use grammar.

  • This is the most terrible ad ever written. If anyone thinks for one second that this "unthink"ably stupid sham of a social networking site won't just sell out and do the same exact things all the other ones are doing, then they're morons.

All they mean to do is prey upon people who think they're rebels and non conformists and do the same thing facebook, twitter, google+, myspace, etc all have done. Fill it with ads, and sell personal information. If you don't want it out, don't put it online.

  • seriously, who wrote this? a 13 year old?!?!

they have a point, but don't get it across well, because the video is overly dramatic.

  • Who the fuck is your demo Unthink? Idiots? Morons? Graffiti? Really?

  • 1:33 love watching those tittums bounce.

  • Wow this is AWFUL.

  • I love how the video has more than three times as many 'likes' as 'dislikes', but the front page is filled with hate (along with the admission that Google owns Youtube, and as such controls what people see). Nice try, guys.

  • Pretty.much they are saying that facebook and google care more about making money than about the consumer. They should of just said that.

  • True. Totually useless video. But I don't think they are using the word "free" in terms of whether you have to pay to use the service or not. Facebook and google+ are not entirely free. Those who use their services do should that whatever you post belongs to facebook or google. And they have the right to do whatever they want with that info. Typically they sell that info to third party buyers who pay good money for your info.

  • This vid is stupid. They r bashing facebook and google explaining that they dictate, spy, interupt. Fb and google are free becausr they make money from advertisement so b greatful.for them or else we would probably have to pay. All they r doing really is complaining . Where is the info about "unthink"? What is there purpose? What are they? Unless they are a non profit , non corporate, free, advertisementless, with no restrictions on posts or pics or vids. They can suck a fat one.

  • Your promo video is fucking retarded and gives no real information.

    You will fail.

  • Nice video, but it still does not tell me what Unthink is about.

  • The only reason this is getting any light of day is due to cnn posting it as front page news and other websites as well. What a hilariously sad competition

  • Comment removed

  • Good luck trying to get people to pay 2 bucks to use the site, these guys are douchebags making a lame video to try and exploit facebook and google + users just to make money.

  • You do realize that facebook and google+ are TOTALLY FREE and no one forced you to sign up for them in the first place right? It cost you NOTHING to sign up. And you DON'T PAY ANYTHING to keep it. Why do you feel so entitled to it?

  • nah thanks I'm fine with facebook

  • "Unthink"... what a terrible name. Honestly, if you're going to pour millions of dollars into a site, at least come up with a brilliant name. I don't want to tell people I'm on "unthink", I'd even prefer "drownkittens" or "iloveclowns" to unthink.

  • @mikethechampion Dude, i'm totally on drownkittens, you should friend me.

  • It's about time. I'm insane with rage everytime my phone contacts pop up on my so-called FB page. UNTHINK is the bomb.

  • This will probably gain momentary popularity among ignorant pre-teens. The whole idea and marketing scheme behind it just makes me feel embarrassed for them.

  • Be independent by not thinking. Awesome marketing strategy.

  • It's funny because its on Youtube.

  • Hey guys leave Mark Zuckerberg alone he knows "Exponential Growth" ....

  • She is hot.

  • this remind me of rebecca black and friday song

  • Tried to get to the Unthink website but it was down.

  • lame. but i like her off the shoulder top XD

  • You can't take down giants when your servers can't support it....

  • *Armpit Fart Noises

  • What possible advantage does unthink have over G+? G+ does not have ads and has circles that control what you share with who. Yea.. pretty sure that is what unthink's main features are except in a crap layout.

  • @korillagorilla You're clearly missing the point.

  • @MrLeeT73 I guess people who feel like they are slaves of FB & G+ can see the point of this dumb video.

  • Im going to join ununthink to say "FU" to this shitty network

  • firstworld problems

  • So if Unthink thinks Google is so bad why is this posted on Google's Youtube? lol

  • @shadowE989 dont be a jerk bro, just 'like' the Unthink group on Facebook and be done with it.

  • @shadowE989 Where else are they going to post it? Geez. This is not about boycotting Youtube or Google search.

  • @shadowE989 Google owns everything. Do you think they have a choice?

  • @shadowE989 couldn't get through to people otherwise. no need to be stupid.

  • Ha ha ha, unthink.com is over capacity. It looks like your taking down evil Google and evil Facebook is desperately failed. And I love how your using evil Google on evil You Tube owned by evil Google to take down evil Google. Sad, Pathetic Fail.

  • @conservativeco : Pathetic fail? Don't you mean "Success surpassed their expectations"? Learn to think things through from A *past* B, dude. But you are somebody whose profile features Christian Conservative wallpapers and anti-Obama propaganda, so you pretty much met my expectations.

  • Who is this aimed at ?

  • #uncool video, #unup website, #uncontender, I'm #unthinking about starting an account...

  • If nothing else the commercial is cool.

  • Its so strange that even if I like this, I can share it only on FB, Orkut or G+!!! Ironic... But i like the idea... Am willing to volunteer... I work for a big agency and I focus on digital marketing. So there you go.... Waiting for you to write to me :)

  • I hope this turns out to be a legitimate FB rival. We need a more private alternative.

  • Sorry, but that vid was kind of lame. Poor promotional video, in my opinion.

  • Funny...I went to check it out and it's "OVER CAPACITY" Hmmm

  • @betteboop57 the sites servers arent for the amount of traffic that would going through it as a social network, it was started by a mom who actually read the private policy on myspace and facebook (and thats why the servers arent what they should be, she probably doesnt have the best funding)

  • @RunningEagle2011 I know the reason. I hope things work our for her!

  • Nobody forces anybody to use a social network service. It amazes me that when people are given something for free, they are inclined to bitch and complain about what said social network does with the data it legally owns. Privacy is a valid concern, but an educated user has taken the proper steps to protect themselves. This video is just whining.

  • @jletkemann

you dont get it do you?

Many users of modern social community sites dont even have the slightest idea what is happening in the background. Okay, yes, so they've heard once that those sites *might* use their information for ads and promos, but that's not really considered a bad thing. And as if they knew, that by uploading photos, they give fb all the rights!

Name one business in the real world that can change the conditions of a contract instantly without the client's agreement.

  • so if they take the business side out of this business....... how will they make money?

  • @mambo2mambo There are tons of ways to make money off of the userbase of a social networking site without openly violating their privacy.

  • I think the basic concept of the ad above is a sound one, if a little focussed on bashing the opposition but the execution is corny and (for me) annoying. The girl is very irritating, though I can't put my finger on why and the final sequence of her and the ethnically diverse models walking down the street is just abysmal. And as other posters have already written, what are they offering that the others aren't? "Freedom" really?

  • Comment removed

  • I actually really like the idea of a social-networking site with better privacy for its users. I might give it a shot.

  • How does it feel to have less views then most pony remix bronies?

  • Fathebook ith eeeeeevvvvvviiiiilllll!!!!!! Oh god. Please make it stop.

  • Cool story bro......

  • UTHINK SUCKS ASS. I wonder if I can sell my invite on ebay

  • Social networks should be forbidden

  • Seriously?

  • @masterpsychosis Yes....I know.....

  • well, promoting your shit by bashing the competition makes it look very promising

  • Another social network seriously.

  • I wonder how much that girl with big tits got paid to be in this commercial for unthink. They're putting on their own illusion now so they can get in on the money. HOW MANY LEVELS DOES THIS ILLUSION HAVE?!

  • i just hate all these crappy social networks just go die ok?

  • Breaking free from one illusion, only to find yourself chained up in another one?

  • now you are slave of you tube..... loooool F U darling but only if you pay me well for it

  • Accept not except- typo genius!
