I found an even better social networking tool on my computer. Even though it's right there, it's quite hard to find for many. Here's how to find it: Click START (bottom corner of the screen), then click TURN OFF COMPUTER, then click SHUT DOWN. There's an app on this network (if used correctly) that allows you to have a more realistic interaction with others, plus the graphics are noticeably better, it can be quite a bit healthier and so much more exciting. You don't even have to sign up!

How is unthink different? It isn't. They just want to make money as you network with your friends, family, coworkers, and strangers. Same as facebook and g+ so just keep using whatever you are using and don't fall for cheap advertising.

here one thing guys. facebook was here first and it will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be here. i dont like more then you do even though i use it. no mather what you do, facebook will take the lead for social network
Are people who need to subjected to this amount of catechism really the people UNTHINK is trying to get in their social network?
I find the UNTHINK network a really great idea, but their advertising and promotional stuff really lack even the slightest hint of minimalism needed to convince people of joining, in my opinion. Or, as holdyourspoon put it, "it just voids the message".
Everyone who really think this company is brilliant, are dumb fools!
They are very clever, and takes advantage of the fact that we don't like changes! Everytime Facebook comes with an update people are getting so angry and frustrated, but how would you like sitting on the 2008 version of Facebook? You would hate it!
1) I hate the name. 2) I hate the layout. 3) I've heard more people complain about ads on YouTube than on FB. 4) From what I've been reading, the brands will be paying Unthink for the privilege to be sponsored by users, but users only see interactions from the brand if they feel like it. If I were a brand I'd be going "no fucking way."
Probably the most retarded video I have ever seen... Not making a profit off of its consumers? That has to happen in order for a site to continue to generate profit... Duh. They don't even charge the consumers, it is just the ads that are on the side buahahaha
But Unthink is terribly executed and politically-slanted, likely to be slapped by Apple with a couple of trademark infringements for things like "iEndorse" and just not likely to cause even a ripple in Facebook or G+'s oceans. Don't bother signing up, IMO.
Unthink to me implies I can't think for myself. I don't have to think about anything ? I just don't get the name. FB may have it's problems but it's far more popular than the old myspace.
This clip tries way too hard to be all hip and rebellious. The end, with all the ethnically diverse and unsmiling young hipsters doing their little catwalk strut away from evil Facebook and G+ is laughable. The spokeswoman is pretty cute, though.
great ideal but if you start to put pop ups and start to do stuff your saying your not going to then every one will turn how do you plan on paying for servers with out sponsors and or any way of making actual money off the website">.>??
Unthink will be making money of corporate sponsorships......just like Facebook... don't think about it, unthink about it... it's the same thing, different label. This is the U.S. NOTHING is free, there's always a price, and it isn't always money.
@youasked4it2 dude yea they might make money off it but the hole point is how facebook and google both make it so you can't say what you really want to say, and post pictures if you want them to, more like they have huge rules that kinda makes fbook suck, and also people don't spy on you awsome but you can't always tell though and no pop ups, and if they do start witch in order to pay for servers they have to learn how to make money off a website or it will always freeze up and crash3thumsup2 fu
@twhite1288 Unfortunately, as a company, they will have to show increasing amounts of revenue to actually make it. If they want to compete and still offer a free service, ad revenue might be one of the only ways they do it. Advertisers are increasing demanding more information to target their audience. From a legal stand point SOME things (not all) are necessary to avoid lawsuits. For example, facebook does not allow nude photos. Why? children are on the service. Im not justifyn, I'm just sayn.
This is the most terrible ad ever written. If anyone thinks for one second that this "unthink"ably stupid sham of a social networking site won't just sell out and do the same exact things all the other ones are doing, then they're morons.
All they mean to do is prey upon people who think they're rebels and non conformists and do the same thing facebook, twitter, google+, myspace, etc all have done. Fill it with ads, and sell personal information. If you don't want it out, don't put it online.
I love how the video has more than three times as many 'likes' as 'dislikes', but the front page is filled with hate (along with the admission that Google owns Youtube, and as such controls what people see). Nice try, guys.
True. Totually useless video. But I don't think they are using the word "free" in terms of whether you have to pay to use the service or not. Facebook and google+ are not entirely free. Those who use their services do should that whatever you post belongs to facebook or google. And they have the right to do whatever they want with that info. Typically they sell that info to third party buyers who pay good money for your info.
This vid is stupid. They r bashing facebook and google explaining that they dictate, spy, interupt. Fb and google are free becausr they make money from advertisement so b greatful.for them or else we would probably have to pay. All they r doing really is complaining . Where is the info about "unthink"? What is there purpose? What are they? Unless they are a non profit , non corporate, free, advertisementless, with no restrictions on posts or pics or vids. They can suck a fat one.
The only reason this is getting any light of day is due to cnn posting it as front page news and other websites as well. What a hilariously sad competition
Good luck trying to get people to pay 2 bucks to use the site, these guys are douchebags making a lame video to try and exploit facebook and google + users just to make money.
You do realize that facebook and google+ are TOTALLY FREE and no one forced you to sign up for them in the first place right? It cost you NOTHING to sign up. And you DON'T PAY ANYTHING to keep it. Why do you feel so entitled to it?
"Unthink"... what a terrible name. Honestly, if you're going to pour millions of dollars into a site, at least come up with a brilliant name. I don't want to tell people I'm on "unthink", I'd even prefer "drownkittens" or "iloveclowns" to unthink.
This will probably gain momentary popularity among ignorant pre-teens. The whole idea and marketing scheme behind it just makes me feel embarrassed for them.
What possible advantage does unthink have over G+? G+ does not have ads and has circles that control what you share with who. Yea.. pretty sure that is what unthink's main features are except in a crap layout.
Ha ha ha, unthink.com is over capacity. It looks like your taking down evil Google and evil Facebook is desperately failed. And I love how your using evil Google on evil You Tube owned by evil Google to take down evil Google. Sad, Pathetic Fail.
@conservativeco : Pathetic fail? Don't you mean "Success surpassed their expectations"? Learn to think things through from A *past* B, dude. But you are somebody whose profile features Christian Conservative wallpapers and anti-Obama propaganda, so you pretty much met my expectations.
So...to spread awareness of your so-called "problems plaguing current social media," you used some kind of invitation-spamming bot on YouTube? FAIL.
Its so strange that even if I like this, I can share it only on FB, Orkut or G+!!! Ironic... But i like the idea... Am willing to volunteer... I work for a big agency and I focus on digital marketing. So there you go.... Waiting for you to write to me :)
@betteboop57 the sites servers arent for the amount of traffic that would going through it as a social network, it was started by a mom who actually read the private policy on myspace and facebook (and thats why the servers arent what they should be, she probably doesnt have the best funding)
Nobody forces anybody to use a social network service. It amazes me that when people are given something for free, they are inclined to bitch and complain about what said social network does with the data it legally owns. Privacy is a valid concern, but an educated user has taken the proper steps to protect themselves. This video is just whining.
Many users of modern social community sites dont even have the slightest idea what is happening in the background. Okay, yes, so they've heard once that those sites *might* use their information for ads and promos, but that's not really considered a bad thing. And as if they knew, that by uploading photos, they give fb all the rights!
Name one business in the real world that can change the conditions of a contract instantly without the client's agreement.
I think the basic concept of the ad above is a sound one, if a little focussed on bashing the opposition but the execution is corny and (for me) annoying. The girl is very irritating, though I can't put my finger on why and the final sequence of her and the ethnically diverse models walking down the street is just abysmal. And as other posters have already written, what are they offering that the others aren't? "Freedom" really?
I wonder how much that girl with big tits got paid to be in this commercial for unthink. They're putting on their own illusion now so they can get in on the money. HOW MANY LEVELS DOES THIS ILLUSION HAVE?!
Facebook verses (sic) Unthink = FU?
This feels like a school project from the '90s.

What possible advantage does unthink have over G+? G+ does not have ads and has circles that control what you share with who. Yea.. pretty sure that is what unthink's main features are except in a crap layout.
korillagorilla 4 months ago
@korillagorilla You're clearly missing the point.
MrLeeT73 4 months ago
@MrLeeT73 I guess people who feel like they are slaves of FB & G+ can see the point of this dumb video.

shadowE989 4 months ago 38
@shadowE989 dont be a jerk bro, just 'like' the Unthink group on Facebook and be done with it.
eatmealiveplease 4 months ago
@shadowE989 Where else are they going to post it? Geez. This is not about boycotting Youtube or Google search.

@shadowE989 Google owns everything. Do you think they have a choice?

Ha ha ha, unthink.com is over capacity. It looks like your taking down evil Google and evil Facebook is desperately failed. And I love how your using evil Google on evil You Tube owned by evil Google to take down evil Google. Sad, Pathetic Fail.
conservativeco 4 months ago
@conservativeco : Pathetic fail? Don't you mean "Success surpassed their expectations"? Learn to think things through from A *past* B, dude. But you are somebody whose profile features Christian Conservative wallpapers and anti-Obama propaganda, so you pretty much met my expectations.

This has been flagged as spam show
So...to spread awareness of your so-called "problems plaguing current social media," you used some kind of invitation-spamming bot on YouTube? FAIL.

If nothing else the commercial is cool.

Its so strange that even if I like this, I can share it only on FB, Orkut or G+!!! Ironic... But i like the idea... Am willing to volunteer... I work for a big agency and I focus on digital marketing. So there you go.... Waiting for you to write to me :)

I hope this turns out to be a legitimate FB rival. We need a more private alternative.

Sorry, but that vid was kind of lame. Poor promotional video, in my opinion.

Funny...I went to check it out and it's "OVER CAPACITY" Hmmm
betteboop57 4 months ago
@betteboop57 the sites servers arent for the amount of traffic that would going through it as a social network, it was started by a mom who actually read the private policy on myspace and facebook (and thats why the servers arent what they should be, she probably doesnt have the best funding)
RunningEagle2011 4 months ago
@RunningEagle2011 I know the reason. I hope things work our for her!

Nobody forces anybody to use a social network service. It amazes me that when people are given something for free, they are inclined to bitch and complain about what said social network does with the data it legally owns. Privacy is a valid concern, but an educated user has taken the proper steps to protect themselves. This video is just whining.
jletkemann 4 months ago
@jletkemann
you dont get it do you?
Many users of modern social community sites dont even have the slightest idea what is happening in the background. Okay, yes, so they've heard once that those sites *might* use their information for ads and promos, but that's not really considered a bad thing. And as if they knew, that by uploading photos, they give fb all the rights!
Name one business in the real world that can change the conditions of a contract instantly without the client's agreement.
EMPured 4 months ago
so if they take the business side out of this business....... how will they make money?
mambo2mambo 4 months ago
@mambo2mambo There are tons of ways to make money off of the userbase of a social networking site without openly violating their privacy.

I actually really like the idea of a social-networking site with better privacy for its users. I might give it a shot.
