There's no need to bind your cover key. It's actually very easy to use and becomes second nature once you've played the class for several hours. All you have to do is find a logical place to cover and press the center scroll button on your mouse and you will automatically cover at that location. Once you reach level 14 you get a portable cover making all other cover points irrelevant.
Just giving my opinion but to me so far this just looks like wow with a star wars skin and more story.
Having played wow for 6 years I'm not sure this will keep me entertained for long. I will give it a go however, so I guess we will see if its any good.

So i recently heard the "consequences" of your choices are mostly.. fluff. Like lightside/darkside points are ultimately about your characters appearance and what weapons he can buy. Most people will go straight lightside or straight darkside just to get the best weapon. And of course you'll have a private cutscene that, as far as I've seen, does nothing to your storyline.
It'd be cool if you were lead through certain storylines by the choices you made.

They're putting a lot of money into it.. so it's not hard to believe they'd avoid straying from the usual MMO schematic even if it cut down on some of the storytelling. For instance.. I've been told that in the beta they got rid of some of the changes caused by choices because the typical mmo player felt it was too harsh to have to make choices and not be able to save/reload if they didn't like it.
@Joshb81959 i think taking it out is wrong making those choices is what shapes your character instead of rushing through dialog people actually have to think thats likely why the ytook it out and people complained not being able to save it isn't a problem with me im happy to live with my mistakes etc its part of learning

@TheWingedViking Information on that hasn't been released yet. But from other Bioware games such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect with had quite a few options, I expect it to be pretty tight. Not only that, but you can also choose around 3 different body types. Athletic, Medium, Heavy.
I like how in KOTOR, there were more choices; in ME2, it was kiss up; say yes. There was neutral, which is like, Whatever. Then there's Sigh... fine. In Kotor, there's: Sure., No., Maybe I'll just kill you., And afterwards: No need for reward... I think Ill just kill you and take your money. I liked how in Kotor the decision really effected the quest, items, etc. Not just some points like in ME2. Also your squad mates don't do shit in trying to dis sway you like in KOTOR
My only thing with the moral system in this game is whether it will be more like ME or KOTOR. In ME, your moral could only be maxed by complete kissing-up to your moral side. Most, if not all quests, had a both Paragon and Renegade way of doing things, both of which not making much of an impact (Until the end. Note Im talking about ME2 here). In KOTOR, your morale is based upon large decisions, and its rather easy to max out alignment.
Both Guild Wars 2 and SWTOR look like strong MMORPG's, but my issue with GW2 is that I'm simply sick of the same old fantasy look of almost everything MMORPG out there. Being a sequel to Guild Wars, I can't really criticise it for that. But the setting of SWTOR just feels different enough to make me prefer it that little bit more.
That and my love of the KOTOR games are big reasons why I'm more interested. If the setting and stories are done right, then it could be truly engaging to play.
@SaitanMar Guild wars 2 style isn't a archetypal WOW rip off however. Dwarfs are all stone figures, the elfs happen to be plants, there are hyper intelligent small creates that create pyramids in the sky ... ETC.
Sure GW2 is fantasy, but it is such a unique experience that I can really buy into the world.
And if that doesn't cut it for you, it's still worth getting as it is free to play... and this isn't ... which sorta sucks.
@echoingheads The problem with free to play is that means they'll even have micro transactions, or you'll be buying 60$ expansions every 3-5 months.
How someone has trouble affording 15$ a month and plays games is beyond me. How do you afford games if you can't even toss 15$ to a game that will give you 1000+ hours of entertainment?

Guildwars 1 was free to play but spared many many possible micro transactions like money to change servers, change character appearance and so on in other MMO's like WOW. Instead Guildwars made extra money from selling massive expansion packs that unlocked whole new continents and really did feel worth your money.
Arenanet aren't dicks and I really doubt they'd stoop so low for their next release.
Not going to bash on TOR, but if TOR was alot more like GW2 I would buy it. :/
I'm a kind of a Star Wars fan and combined with the innovation and "getting rid of your standard boring mmo experience" mechanics, it would be a great combo for me. Not that I dislike the GW2 world, but a Star Wars themed GW2 would be cool.

I dont think you can leave your starting planet i could be wrong but i think your kind of guided to each planet up until level 20 (when you get your ship) where the stories become more generalized instead of specific like in the infancy of your character
No each character has a Class Story running from 1 to 50 which is I no part shared with other classes. The world however also conatin world archs, stories accesible to all classes of the same faction.
Why is the class called the smuggler? If it's just for the story, that's kind of a cop-out. They should use their smuggling abilities in combat, like stealing or something.
@Lemileant It's called smuggler because they based the class off of Han Solo, who was a smuggler. The combat is focused on being like Han Solo, so they're basing their combat off of how Han Solo fought in the movies.
This game better have the best story ever or it will fail badly, you could tell TB was really bored playing this game but he was trying desperately to be diplomatic. I suspect he will only get it because it's his job to play most games but we all know he'll spend most of his time in Guild Wars 2 ;)

Kotor 1&2 were one of best RPGs ever made to anyone who didn't play em and like RPGs i would suggest to play them now even if they are old.They had great story,interesting combat and so many different choices to change the story.Hell i think that's mostly the reason i will play this MMO just to see story.

Jedi seek inner piece, they control the force through their harmony with it, they attempt to keep calm, and don't allow their emotions to guide their actions. Sith are totally the opposite. Good or bad doesn't really come into it, it's just two seperate ways of using the force.
Dark side jedi were always existed they are called "Dark jedi or Rouge jedi" unlike the sith there goals were always thug-like mindset either they want to be rich or revenge but they care less about galaxy conquest with exception of very few dark jedis.

@SaitanMar Guild wars 2 style isn't a archetypal WOW rip off however. Dwarfs are all stone figures, the elfs happen to be plants, there are hyper intelligent small creates that create pyramids in the sky ... ETC.
Sure GW2 is fantasy, but it is such a unique experience that I can really buy into the world.
And if that doesn't cut it for you, it's still worth getting as it is free to play... and this isn't ... which sorta sucks.

@echoingheads The problem with free to play is that means they'll even have micro transactions, or you'll be buying 60$ expansions every 3-5 months.
How someone has trouble affording 15$ a month and plays games is beyond me. How do you afford games if you can't even toss 15$ to a game that will give you 1000+ hours of entertainment?
GW2 will be just like every other MMO, it will build hype to the point where it's impossible to deliver, WoW fanboys will troll endlessly. Good times.

@DuskDismantled1 I hope the payment system is similar the that of the original guildwars.
Guildwars 1 was free to play but spared many many possible micro transactions like money to change servers, change character appearance and so on in other MMO's like WOW. Instead Guildwars made extra money from selling massive expansion packs that unlocked whole new continents and really did feel worth your money.
Arenanet aren't dicks and I really doubt they'd stoop so low for their next release.

Not going to bash on TOR, but if TOR was alot more like GW2 I would buy it. :/
I'm a kind of a Star Wars fan and combined with the innovation and "getting rid of your standard boring mmo experience" mechanics, it would be a great combo for me. Not that I dislike the GW2 world, but a Star Wars themed GW2 would be cool.

@ArkanArkAngel We're subscribed to totalhalibut because we like him, I rarely watch his videos because i'm considering buying the game that he's covering, and from what I've seen most of his subscribers are like this as well. We're subbed because we like him and his commentaries.
I can understand if you just want gameplay footage and nothing else, but this channel isn't really like that, and never has been.

I dont think you can leave your starting planet i could be wrong but i think your kind of guided to each planet up until level 20 (when you get your ship) where the stories become more generalized instead of specific like in the infancy of your character

No each character has a Class Story running from 1 to 50 which is I no part shared with other classes. The world however also conatin world archs, stories accesible to all classes of the same faction.

Why is the class called the smuggler? If it's just for the story, that's kind of a cop-out. They should use their smuggling abilities in combat, like stealing or something.

@Lemileant It's called smuggler because they based the class off of Han Solo, who was a smuggler. The combat is focused on being like Han Solo, so they're basing their combat off of how Han Solo fought in the movies.

This game better have the best story ever or it will fail badly, you could tell TB was really bored playing this game but he was trying desperately to be diplomatic. I suspect he will only get it because it's his job to play most games but we all know he'll spend most of his time in Guild Wars 2 ;)

It's safe to say WoW needs to pick up the pace, combine this amazing gem with Guild wars 2 which looks pretty good, and transformers online for the kids

Kotor 1&2 were one of best RPGs ever made to anyone who didn't play em and like RPGs i would suggest to play them now even if they are old.They had great story,interesting combat and so many different choices to change the story.Hell i think that's mostly the reason i will play this MMO just to see story.

flexibility to add depth to the group conversation dynamics maybe since you can only group with your faction? like adding a gray area to the experience?
but then it might be that that is why you choose to roll a specific faction because you plan to be good or evil all the way.
though diehards will be sad when they're in a group of do-gooders who win the conversation rolls and vice versa.

@Wildifepro Sith or jedi just determines HOW you use the force. Jedi seek inner piece, they control the force through their harmony with it, they attempt to keep calm, and don't allow their emotions to guide their actions. Sith are totally the opposite. They use the force by channeling it with extreme amounts of emotion, be it a negative emotions such as hate or anger, or it could even be love or happiness.
Good or bad doesn't really come into it, it's just two seperate ways of using the force.

Dark side jedi were always existed they are called "Dark jedi or Rouge jedi" unlike the sith there goals were always thug-like mindset either they want to be rich or revenge but they care less about galaxy conquest with exception of very few dark jedis.
light side sith however is "new" thing.

Then the first "Dark Jedi" emerged, a man that had been corrupted by temptation used the force for personal gain, slowly he was joined by others, the order of the sith was slowly growing and before they could reach their goal the jedi order attacked them, the sith lost and was sent to an exile on korriban. That's the story - jedi first.
