I think by the end Ted will bump into his future wife (Barney's stepsister?) at Barney's wedding and future Ted will say, "And that kids, is the true story of how I met your mother." Another theory is that Ted might help Barney with something huge such as helping the wedding go on as planned and Barney will return the favour by saying something he hasn't said for a long time.

This is what I think. They are never going to tell us who is the Mother of Ted Mosby's children, who is his wife. And how does he have so much time to tell them all of this, don't they have lives. Oh, possibly maybe his is preparing them to be good wives, but you know I know the real theory behind this, is the same real theory behind every other movie. Stay focused on your goals.

If this is indeed the case this will be the lamest ending to a series ever. The show has been going on for so many years and for the vast majority of people who are watching, they are all expecting to see the mother at some point.  If you are watching the show you will notice that Ted nowadays is more like a guest star as the stories focus on Lilly and Marshall or Barney and Robin. To be honest the only reason i am watching is to actually found out who the mother is.

@151320141 actually if you think about it, Ted said he met his wife at Barney's wedding.That being said refer back to season one, Robin is the first girl he starts telling his kids about. And Robin and Barney have a thing for each other now. So Barney and Robin get married. So if Ted never met Robin, she would have never met Barney and Ted wouldn't have met his wife at their wedding!!!!

@151320141 the mothers name is going to be tracy, ik this because in one of the early episodes ted met a stripper named tracy and told his chrildren "and that kids is how i met your mother"and they were like "WHAT!!!" and he was like "just kidding" so obviously they know what there mom's name is.
