  • I'm interested in the ROTC program... Must I have already completed BCT/AIT to be involved with this? At the moment I am a civilian with some college experience but no degrees.

  • @AbominableHuman

no, you can just join ROTC while you're in college. if your campus has an ROTC program, i'd go talk with the ROO (or recruiting officer) and see how you can get started. For me, Since I'm a first year, I didn't have to do anything too special to catch up on the things I missed.

  • @SicInPrincipio Thank you. I talked to an Army recruiter recently and he said the way to get involved is to enlist in the Reserves, then get a contract or something to do ROTC during your 4 years at college, but after you complete BCT/AIT. My concern was that I might not get a contract and just get shipped out immediately and never get to go to school until I got back (if I came back) from the sandbox.

  • @AbominableHuman there are different contracted for ROTC, enlisting in the reserves don't want the risk of not getting contracted, sign up for ROTC directly, unless you're a 3rd year, you should be able to get in as an MS1 or MS2 compressed.

  • This is awesome, I actually live in EL Paso Tx. I'm going to join the ROTC when I transfer from EPCC

  • Cant wait to join ROTC.
