I guess the tone really is as they say, mostly in your hands, because the rig I used to record this couldn't have been further from what Slash used. My rig in this video was a clean valve amp my dad made, with just a BOSS DS-1 pedal and a delay in front of it. That's it. I guess that it's more about picking hard, holding the pick flat against the strings, palm muting when needed and fretting correctly. His licks are a big part of his overall sound. Les Paul helps too ;)

I actually like a lot how you play, but in the intro i think that youre playing something wrong, or you are using a not a lot of gain. Put the gain (or drive) at 10, maybe 9 or 8, and you'll get the right sound.

I use an Ibanez DE-7 and I leave it on the entire time. And the color of my Les Paul is Heritage Cherry Sunburst.

@marshall3T Actually, no, I didn't use my DE7, I just remembered. I added delay in Adobe Audition, the program I use for recording my guitar and mixing it with the track I play over. I think I added delay just for the intro and the two solos and a bit of reverb for the entire track, but I'm not sure.... When I play live, I use my Ibanez Delay and I leave it on all the time, it's kinda subtle...
