  • There was no country-wide venues to train or breed high quality athletes. Compare alot of the ski hills now to back then, even the smallest hills build crazy terrain parks and cater to a much wider variety.

  • yaH why the fuck didn't we win a gold . 112 people damn

  • @daddymobuks If you look at the stats and history, Canada didn't really do all that well at the Winter Olympics before the Calgary Olympics. Mostly medals in hockey and figure skating with the odd win in Alpine skiing or Speed skating. The five medals at Calgary were the most Canada had won at the Winter Games post-WW2. Calgary left a massive legacy of training and competition venues as well as an interest in Winter sport that paved the way for the successful results in Vancouver.

  • We didn't win a gold medal in Calgary because we had a particularly bad Prime Minister that year.

  • ok Gold Medalists 0 Silver 2 Bronze 3 why CANADA did not kick ass in 1988? and there had 112 Competitors why?

  • WOOO CANADA!!!!! wow that was a pretty cool uniform..but still CANADAAA!!!!! so happy that the games are comming back can't wait to see Canada in Vancouver!!

  • CANADA!
