I actually visited David Husvik last year. the official reason why they don't play anymore is that the members of the band changed constantly so that it wasn't Extol anymore.

However, the rest of the band has founded a new band, Mantric. This project hasn't released any CDs yet, but I guess it will rock when they do :D

One of the best concerts I've ever seen to date(my favorite song of theirs), I was on stage squatting in front of the bass player to keep fans of stage, So I got swatted by his hair the whole show. cool guys to boot.

Dont know if you can see me but im in between that pole and the stage. Their hair was like gaint fans and would occasionally hit me. Hung out with them in the merch tent for a few minutes and took pictures, etc. cool guys.

Ahhhhh..... Those were the days, Extol at their best and most brutal, continuing their journey to the peak after the brilliance of Burial and then..... they decided to be a thrash band instead and failed badly. Many will disagree with me, even swear at me but many will agree and mourn with me that we lost an awesome band with true talent. R.I.P Extol. We will always remember you as you were, not what you became in the end.

I agree too. Watching this video is like seeing an ex after a bad break-up - pulls at the heartstrings and makes ya long for the good old days. This is one of the few bands that I would still want to see reunite eventhough I didn't like them for more than half their career (technically, since they were off my radar after Undeceived).. *sigh*

Extol is very awesome, though I miss Peters low grunting vocals in this song.

He never REALLY did vocals that low. He used a vocal processor for the album. If you turn your sound up, you can hear his regular growls in the background and they turned up the low portion to make it sound more brutal.

actually all the vocals on undeceived are double tracked. he does this shrieking sound over a really brooding vocal. one of the nastiest metal vocal recordings of all time
