Well back when this video was released it was HQ widescreen. And as you can see it is still just that. Long before they put out the video settings for HD people had to figure out the widescreen settings for their self.  So this video helped a lot of people.

I honestly do not know. I don't care for WMM. Too basic and sloppy for me. Premiere is the way to go. And I hear great things about Sony Vegas. Plus, I haven't even played with the Vista version of WMM. Maybe some one else can help you answer your question. Good luck.

Oh and plus you just said "HQ". I assume you meant HQ widescreen. If you can change the video to 1280X720 using WMM then yes you can. If you can get those settings on WMM I dunno since I don't use the program. Some times I use it to take pictures from video clips in a hurry. But that is about it lol.

hey I recommend Total Video Converter,it's not free but you can download it free with a serial.There are enough video's where you can download the serial,but the program is realy good

Yeah I've played with that program before. But if you are willing to take the whole serial route then I would just suggest getting Adobe Premiere. If you're going to steal make it really worth your time lol.

I am not a big fan of avi when it comes to youtube. So I have never tried. But anything with a resolution of 1280X720 with a constant video bit rate of 3,000 or more will come up in HD. A video bit rate less then that but more then like 1,500 or so should come out in HQ. Just make sure you do a constant bit rate. That is the key.

nevermind, it didn't work with the wmv8 switch to ms-mpeg4-v2 works with that.

Nah. I mainly just use Premiere for everything. Super is good if you have a video that you want to put on youtube and just want to convert it really quick. For better quality I highly suggest using Premire for everything. Just use the media encoder thing in the export section.

so i recorded something with my video cam, then I imported to premiere and i tested the.avi file (that's the format my video cam supports) and it didn't went well, the image stands still but the audio keeps running very good...

still the quality of the image was awesomeee lol

so do you know a way that I can convert the .avi file to wmv before importing it to premiere without lossing quality?

Converting any video to any other format will ALWAYS end up in some quality loss. I have no idea why your version of Premiere dose that to your avi videos. What version of Premiere are you using?

it's just with my avi files and only the ones that i take with my video cam... cause if I take a dvd and rip it to an avi and I take that avi and import it to Premiere most of the times it won't happen, so that's why I try always to convert them to another format before going to Premiere :P

I was using Any video converter pro and

the quality was exactly the same as the original but the fps were kinda laggy at some parts of the vid

Make sure you are only using your computer to encode. Don't run anything else while doing it. You might want to try Super. Other then that, I don't know what to tell you.

Well it is not really relevant to your outcome. But I will tell you anyhow. This video is a direct screen recording so I used Camtasia Studio 5. Then encoded it with Super with the settings in this tutorial. For other videos I use Adobe Premiere to edit.

Also be sure to use a video bit rate of over 3,000. Otherwise it might not work in HQ and you will get glitches. I forgot to add the annotation for that from the get go.

Your video is WAY longer then this one and you are using Sony Vegas which is not free. My video shows people how to do every thing you did but with a free program. I could do a tutorial on how to do this with Adobe Premiere but that would not help many people since it is an $800 program. Well unless they use torrents lol. I use H.264 here and there. But really it dose not matter all that much because everything is coverted to FLV lol.

And my video is long yeah, but about all of it is just me giving information about the video so they understand whats actually happening in the process, and whats actually going on.

With sony vegas you can customize almost anything (framerate, resolution, format) which your converter cant do. Sony vegas is also a ultimate video editor which ur program is not.

I can help users get it for free right here in my comments section. Look up "Sony Vegas torrent" in a Google search. There I just "helped" people.

While Sony Vegas is a very good program it is not the ultimate video editor. Better ones are Final Cut and Adobe Premiere.

Super is an excellent FREE program with many presets that will help people achieve many of the same things Sony Vegas dose. But it will not edit.

I recommend Sony vegas because its a good beginner program, and since u can get almost any edit effect u want, i consider it powerful for users.

While adobe premiere is to difficult to use, and Final cut requires Apple macintosh.

Sony vegas supports more than WMV and the MSMPEG codecs! ;D

I just say, at least they could have added the famous/standard MOV`s, AVI`s, MP4`s and ASF`s in the converter.

Im gonna help you by saying:

use a program called Xvid4PSP, alot more awesome converter than this (its true) look it up on youtube to see how it looks and Google it if u want it. (it has nothing to to with PSP, funny)..

Or u can use Xilisoft HD converter.

Very easy to use, and very good result.

Now i have told 2 better programs than this 1 which supports alot more formats.

Super supports all of those containers. Have you even tried it?

Xvid4PSP requires Microsoft . NET Framework 3.0 before you can use it and that is an inconvenience to many people to download and set up more then one thing. And Xilisoft HD converter is not free.

Those programs are not better then Super.

Thanks for both tutorials, will definately download SUPER and give it a try, but I'm not sure if I need it for my capture card, since it Roxio automatically detects if you have widescreen settings on the system connected.
