  • Simple, inexpensive, efficient. How ya gonna beat that?

  • Or you could just tighten down the frame of your bike in your bench vise and work on it in a comfortable position.

  • This one on Instructables website is better..

  • put a blanket on the floor done.

  • Not worth the effort. This stand will not work for most repairs. Spend and extra $40 and get the Park PCS-9.

  • or you could have someone hold it. you could do the whole repair and some by the time that you build this usless object to hold up the bike. honestly, this bike stand will probably never bee used again.....

  • i have the most easy way ti find the hole (i tried it)

bring a stanlesstel pump (not water resistence) put it in water and let it pump some water after there is overload you will see the water coming out !!

  • or you could flip your bike upside down?

  • my bike would crush that stand

  • Kipkay rides a fixie :D

  • @TheDevante13 its a beach cruiser a fixie is thinner lighter and a fixed gear hens the name fixie

  • It shows that most of the commenter's really aren't bicycle people , if you have your bike upside down it is hard to fit and align your fork , work on your gear train , or install new shifting or breaking cables and brakes.

  • if you're that annoyed about damaging you seat, you could just put a towl on the ground for it.

  • in the garage/workshop, simply hang a single and a double rigging block from the ceiling/rafters. Run 1/4" or 3/8" rope through each of the blocks seperately. Tie bowline hitch on one loose end of the rope. Loop the hitch under the frame, pass loose end through the hitch, pull up on loose end to desired height, secure with half-hitches. Repeat for second rope. Cost: <$20.00. Depending on current price of gold and local economy. Buildiing Time: 15 minutes to 1/2 hour. Depending on distractions.

  • Too much pipe and fittings for my liking and as someone else said what stops the bike from moving from side to side.

  • I have same bike(L)

  • Not to say that this idea in the video isn't a good idea, but, I use my auto bike rack as a stand. I use a 4X4 pole with a square hole and a locking bolt that acts like a Reese hitch, and, this attached to a workbench. It you have this kind if bike rack and something to rig it to, try it. On nice days, I'll even service my bikes while the rack is on the back of the vehical.

  • you could just flip the bike upside down, this project is really pointless

  • at 1:10 i though thoes pipes were like an inch long O__O :-)

  • wierd ass bike.

  • y am i banned

  • This crappy bike repair stand won't stop the bike from swaying - it has no clamp. You can buy a bike stand like this (as it's NOT a bike repair stand) for much less than this fella says it'll cost. Waste of a video - don't give up your day job, if you have one.

  • Alo y=why would i waste 50 bucks on a stand when i could oh idk flip it over

  • Um.. where do yyou store it.

  • Cheap bastard.

  • Flip dumb idiot flip T_T

  • who has the time to build that... JUST FLIP IT!

  • ive got one that costs less just flip it

  • i love how he says "Why don't you build one this weekend?" WHEN HE FRICKING BUILDS IT IN 253 SECONDS!!!

  • well i guess if you jack up your bike a lot this would come in handy.....

  • Don't want to get your seat dirty. Put a rag down. Problem solved!!!

  • damn you kip no like ability? your breaking my balls kip, your breaking my ball

  • nice bike :D

  • I see a project that solves a non existent problem.

I need a rear stand for my 400lb motorcycle, lets see you pull that one off with some pvc, some rubber bands, and a nine volt battery Kipkay.

  • thats a piece of crap

  • there are dozens tipes how to make it faster. I put one I screw on the plafond and hung the bike on the rope. :-)

  • or you could cover the part you dont want dirty with a bag and turn it upside down for practically free

  • wat was wrong with yo tyre

  • I love the theme song!!!!

  • i need a motorcycle stand, no cash but want to make one!

  • Spending 50$ to make a stand.. or having your seat dirty?

Hm.. I think I'll go with having my seat dirty.

  • that doesn't even look stable

  • Can't you just hook it on your sex swing? That's what I do.

  • do you guys think kipkay doesn't accualy go to work? he just do ads and TV. who agrees w/ me?

  • What the fuck dose he do with this shit?

  • You can Buy one for less than you can Build one and it will even Hold your bike in a vise and rotate it around LOL!

  • its not realy worth the effort is it.

  • or it could be a meat rack

  • Please visit diy.myblogs.eu.org

  • kipkay is my hero

  • you could buy a new seat and P.S dont be scared to flip it over

  • how about this... unscrew the wheel of, lift the bike, put it down on the wheel holders and fix the whell... prick

  • Not been funny but that stand is crap! I'd sooner damage my seat that have to store that thing. How long would it take to build that, including preparing the bits, for the end result to be a complete waste of time. Even when it's done I wouldnt want to work on my bike on there! You seem a nice bloke, so sorry but the stand is crap!

  • an actual bike stand only costs $25 and I can get free shipping.

  • @craig7459 could you tell me where that store is? i will make all my shoppings there

  • @kicsiildo try amazon.com

  • @craig7459 where.

  • if it wer a girls bike it wold have a difrent arch between the handle bar and seat. that is a very nice bike, but it dos not have a shift or disk brakes. i prefer normal brakes for drifting, but outherwise disk brakes r beter

  • Wonderfull!...but useless.Fortunately this is the only useless project from KipKay.Unfortunately...it IS useless

  • dont mock kipkay

  • öäeüõ by the time you get all those pieces cut, threaded, drilled, assembled you could have taken entire bike appart and re-assembled twice.

  • thats not a girl bike

  • thats a girls bike lol

  • the most useless proyect by kipkay

  • @KluChz22 way to spell.

  • @KluChz22 not so useless when most professional bike stands go for about $100 and up

  • @evonhasseln you can turn your bike upside down also...

  • @evonhasseln

if you factor in the cost of the pipe your time to go get it and your time to assemble it would be cheaper to get the $100. one . just saying . you could make a T shape out of 2x2 square tube that bolts in temporarily where the kick stand would go under the seat/crank post for about $20. like i did . works great .

  • @KluChz22 it beacuse you dont have a bike

  • @cal121000 yes, I have a bike and I turn my bike when I have to fix it

  • jump on it and ride its like a treadmil <3

  • pvc model would be cheaper....

  • Horrible

  • you can nearly buy one for that

  • Comment removed

  • @jackcandbradw where

  • i love the way he says leg

    'layg' XD

  • @makemagazine

    Really?

  • valiente mierda ha construido... ahi intentas apretar un tornillo de la bicicleta y se cae! ademas, si tienes que comprar todos esos materiales te sale mas barato comprarte el soporte hecho!!

  • That bike stand is junk! I bet you could find an inexpensive or second hand stand for cheaper than buying all that galvanized piping. The method this stand uses for holding the bike is very insecure, very unsafe, very unmanouverable, and will definitely do some damage to the paint surface of the bike.

Don't not build one this weekend, or any weekend!

  • omg I thought those pipes were small

  • if you have such a problem with him making this you dont let him use his own money yes there are other ways to get the tire off put it on its seat or a table or make a stand this is a how to and entertainment video hes not demanding you to make this

  • id rather buy a stand

  • I doubt that his bike's tire is really flat...

  • your chain is loose

  • Ok so what if u have schwinn stingray chopper

  • i didnt know kipkay was in make magazine?!!!!

  • nice bike, kipkay

  • I love ur vids

  • total waste of time and money

  • "Well I'm goanna make one!" We had that coming... o.o

  • great vid quality. keep it up. which cam and at what quality it is when you uploaded it?

  • What a total hunk of junk. Another $50 bucks and you can have an entry level real bike stand that you can fold up and put away when your done. It will also rotate 360 degrees and you can vary the height. Don't waste your time and money with this stand.

  • @MrTooTiredToCare

Well you read his name what did you expect?

  • Good idea but the piece of wood at the top won't be strong enough to put enough pressure on the nut to loosen the wheel.

  • Helpful video. In response to other comments: Turning the bike upside down is not always a good option. If you are adjusting a multi-speed bike, turning it upside down may make it difficult or impossible to access the gear shifts. Plus, I've got too much money invested in my shifters to want the weight of the bike resting on them. $40 dollars seems like a small investment to save the shifters and seat on your bike, unless it is a really cheap bike.

  • Thats like $30-$45 in supplies.. Seems like a waste of money and being lazy when you can just put a cloth under the seat and just flip the bike over... Just an excuse to record a video and post on YouTube

  • MA VEDI SE PER RIPARARE UNA BICICLETTA , ORA UNO DEVE COSTRUIRE UN CAVALLETTO !!!!

MA NON HAI PROPRIO UN CAZZO DA FARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you should have put a Y pipe instead of the 48 in pipes for a cleaner look

  • This project is good, but also overkill in a way.

Why do you not show the base fully assembled in the final shot?

Instead of showing a talking head, show more of the project. :D peace, great amazing magazine..keep it up.

  • $50 to build Or you could buy a good one made by Park for around $90.

  • ttttooooooooooooooo hard

  • Do the mathevery weekend 30 to 50 buck = o.O

  • Epic bike

  • Y not just flip it over instead of going through all that trouble. It will save you more time and money.

  • or you could get a tripod, and hang the wood and hooks on it

  • cool bike man!

  • you could of fixed it long befor you finshed that thing

  • if u want to finde a leak put the wheel in a barrel and youll see bubbels

  • If you already have a bike hitch that attaches to your tow hitch, you can use that instead. Why spend extra money when you can use something that you already have. Or just like everyone else says, just FLIP the bike around. You will have to flip it anyway when you are out on the bike trail and you have no bike stand.

  • @alweld he paid more for his seat than the bike. He must be worried about his hemmorroids.

  • kipkay is cool but some of his projects are just completely pointless save 40$ and turn it on its seat and handlebars

  • @ClubPenguinGuy1994 *50 bucks

  • @ClubPenguinGuy1994 i think its sad u replied to ur own comment

  • @MrTootiredtoocare I think its sad your replied to my comment >.<

  • The point of these projects isn't for practicality, it's just to build something.

  • got to be an easier way

  • those arent wreches, they are channel locks.

  • buy real bike stand for 15 euros :D

  • @jonio656 15 euros is like $20 dollars. Thats $20 less than how much this would cost to make. OR you can put a piece of cloth on the seat and turn it upside down for FREE!!

  • just switch your fancy seat with an old seat...

  • SAVE UR 50 BUCKS AND ONLY FLIP THE BIKE LOL

  • @adlerbr12 fuck you spamer

  • sorry for about 70 you can get a park stand from ebay this is junk hose clamps lmao

  • the stand is to low i used a bike stand 5 days a week 8 hours a day and the stand in this video would be hell to work on my view get the real thing or just turn the bike upside down and put somthing over the seat

  • thats gay just flip the shit upside down and take the wheel ! y use a stand

  • @lambo4real--- then i guess you just dont have expensive bike like the one that i own and it messes up stuff that i have on my handle bars, so id rather have this so i can work on it instead of replacing stuff.

  • pls kip kay more video

  • really gay bike

  • so did you fix the wheel

  • Kip, you should use some neoprene tubes to protect this two hooks. It prevents to scratch bike frame :)

  • Andá a una metalurgica que te lo hacen con fierro en 2 patadas ;)

  • umm, the soap and water test is done on the inner tube, the tyre contains the inner tube which contains the air, and not the air itself...

  • try slime next time no flat repair

  • You can also get a piece of cardboard.. put it on the ground.. and flip your bike on it.. so the seat and shit stays on the cardboard.... i tihnk its better then a freaking set of pipes..

sorry for my bad english.. i think

  • wow why cant think of that? and u save money too

  • @denniswarcrafter1 Yeah, that's a great idea. I bet NO ONE else has ever thought of that.

If you knew anything about bikes you would know in order to tune the derailleurs you have to be able to spin the pedals freely and at the same time have access to the shifters and the derailleur adjustment.

  • @PWNER3 people who think this is pointless need to try and rebuild a bike >.> from the frame up its alot harder than it looks haha so this think is rather helpful

  • Why not just flip it over? If your worried about the seat just put a old rag or towel under it.

  • I think most of the Make videos are promoting creative thinking not necessary the best or cheapest mouse trap but it is something like this I didn't know this can be done, and I can do it better ?

  • And of course for entrepreneurs that would like to make a cheap bike repair shop or some thing like that. Everything can be useful for someone. Out of wood is not that long lasting somehow i guess. But guys it's all about being creative ;)

  • pfff..just flip the bike:)))...i like your other videos tho

  • I agree with silenthawk, why bother with steel pipe just to use some crap wood and hose hangers? Huge gap in structural integrity between the pipe and the rest., I wonder what will break first. I give it a 1/10 cause it does hold up a bike.

  • very crafty but why dont you just go to the local bike shop and buy one for $20?

  • Or you could always save 40 bucks and flip your bike onto it's seat and handlebars.

  • @ jcremeans11

I do it all the time

  • @jcremeans11 Or, because he isn't you, he could build a stand. And use it over and over and over

  • @jcremeans11 what fun is that

  • @jcremeans11 did you not lissen to the begining??

  • @jcremeans11 did you not lissen to the begining?? maybey you dont mind messing up your seat and handle bars but he dose!

  • Why make it out of steel pipe, then have a weak wooden piece holding the weight? Your already using 20 fittings, so put on another tee and 2 more lengths of pipe. Then just mount the hangers on the underside of the pipe.

  • woah!....tats many PARTS!

  • it's good, but also expencive :)

  • just put a cushion or a cloth on ur seat and turn it upside down

  • GOOOOOOOOOD IDEA

  • @randomlala which would make a lot of maintenance a massive pain in the arse, trust me

  • @randomlala what fun is that

  • omg can u freakin make something that is made out of common things! not everybody can afford these things!

  • Those of you saying just turn it upside down obviously do not have a $1000+ bike. I built this stand and it's great, but I modified it a little. I used a peice of 2x4 instead of 1x2, and drilled a 7/8" hole and slid the pipe thru that to mount the board to the stand. This gives more stability, prevents side to side motion. I also offset this hole towards the the back of the bike so that when the bike is on it, the front tire hangs lower than the rear, preventing the wheel from turning.

  • wow man good work i was having that little issue, the wheel just turn and turn and... well thank you very much!

  • or put a fuckin towel or sumthin SHAMWOW!

  • @pbarnes1970

1000 dollar bike? Some one got ripped off.

  • You obviously know nothing about bikes. $1000 is barely above entry level for a decent road bike.

  • Place a hook at the end of a saw horse, its much much cheaper

  • Most of the money was spent on the pieces used for that absurdly overly-complicated base. That could be simplified and cut the price of this in half

  • wow...i checked my local hardware store and there is one for $7, why bother making one when you can buy one for way cheaper

  • because its also the fun of making it

  • ya but knowing you can buy one for way less i would personally buy it if your going to the store anyways
