To students and young fellows, check out After Classroom, we reinvented to the social networking site so that you can social in the much smarter way. After Classroom has 3 web portals, one is Learning Resources where you can find past tests, look for help on your homework, second is the Learning Tools where you can tons of learning software, and the third is the Social Networking platform where you can enjoy new way of socializing with your friends.
@cxProdigycode My advice is to not start with OOP and start with functional programming. MIT for instance, teaches intro programming in Scheme, a dialect of Lisp, utilizing the textbook SICP. However, if you are looking for immediate applications to real life, I would suggest Python or C initially and then Java and whatever language your heart desires.
i would recommend you to start with python. Like @eeg10 said. Python is easy to understand and let you concentrate on learning the principle of programming. After you get into object orientation, you can always go Java/C++ or whatever is appropriate for the task at hand. The only thing that change are language constructs/syntax and the libraries they provide.
Truly epic. A tale of sorrow, ambition, energy drinks, and chaos. How a student named Ryan Kim overcomes obstacles to fulfill his dream of becoming a computer science phenomenon.

I am pretty new to coding and I was wondering, which would be more beneficial for starting off, java or C++?
I know basic C++ commands but have never tried Java.

@cxProdigycode Javas easier read so its easier to learn, C++ is harder to learn but is more powerful that Java.
