I agree with so many people that this song brings back the great music of the 80's. The years 1984-1989 were the greatest of my life, and this song brings me back there...
britishfirstandlast - You have a comrade in the US. I completely agree with you and couldn't have said it better. I remember wondering if the US had any bands back then. It seemed everyone singing on the radio was from England or Germany, at least the stations I listened to.

This video was shot in Walton-on Naze in Essex. The house that I grew up in overlooked this beach and the band came into the pub opposite the pier when they finished filming.

Listening to such music on youtube is very healing. I realise I didn't dream the 80's-there really was an era when it was great to be young, when one fashion outrage followed another; when things felt new and different and an improvement on the music before.
There was something for everyone in the 80's. We were spoilt for choice. OMD were not my favourite band, but miles better than anything today.
music is related with emotions, but big music is in relation with the creator s emotion and make´s me feel special.... son grandes artistas y eso es lo más increible, transmitir emociones a traves del sonido
@rcasellaos Yes! These songs touch my spirit and emotions. I feel more alive. Today's music just makes me feel detached from any higher emotions or feelings.
@BT3701 oddly enough this is OMD's most un-unique sounding song. Their other albums are very distinct. The album this came from was when they were trying to sound more new wavy.
I have been looking for this song for months and i couldn't remember what it was called, thanks lol for posting it. Im gonna give this video a thumbs up.

greetz to everyone who loves this time like me !!!! Neo :-)
For me, whenever I hear this song I think of Edward Hopper paintings, particularly one called Summer Evening. So passionate, so melancholic, yet so beautiful.
OMD never required a no.1 hit. They get a lot more airplay on the radi now with tracks like enola gay and souveneir than most bands do now that even had no 1's back then. What does that say about them?
Back to the future? 1985 is the time to visit, not the time to leave. Everything was positive, upbeat, enthusiastic, even colorful. Now? Struggle, uncertainty and pessimism. If I knew then what I know now, I'd happily spend the rest of my life living the 80's over and over and over ...
@aboothunitedstates Well, yes, but it's all about knowing it now, isn't it? I remember being in a state of near certainty that we'd all eventually be vaporized by the madmen in power screaming at each other over theories of economic policy and human rights.
I just love the unique sound of OMD, alot of thought went into their songs and weren't their videos fab?! This band is by far the best of the 1980s groups in my opinion. Thanks to TV shows like Ashes to Ashes for helping bring back 1980s nostalgia. Fantastic!

Ah yes, the late 80s when I was still in a band as a bassist and vocal. Used to play songs from Duran Duran, OMD, Tears For Fears, etc missed the days....
Not listened to this song in a couple of years but never remember it ever being this good. Thats the genius of this band. So many incredible songs in their back catalogue. As a 25 year old it may not do much for my credibility to love this band but I don't give a f###! Its the ignorant out there who buy whatever Simon Cowell and the like tell them to that are missing out not me!
there are um rock music responces to World War II and and to Vietman, I just clicked on that. And I am stipid there. I was born in 1958, with Buddy Holly dying. My cat just cried. Meow. I am think of Steppenwolf. The Pusher.
I am enjoying the 80s avant garde mullet combination pompadour style. At the moment Im regrowing mine right now. It should be in full effect halway this January. Im gonna put some blue and grey streaks in it.
I was 15 when I found out about OMD and girls at the same time... this band will always be special to me... so many times listening to OMD while at the same time discovering the naked girl I had with me while listening! God bless OMD!
