The black smoke coming off that oil is carbon, and is formed because there is a lack of oxygen. the smoke that comes out of my cars tail pipe is mostly co2 with some co, because of the minute lack of oxygen. if combusted in a perfect ratio, there is nothing wrong with breathing co2, just not breathing o2

if you have a saturated atmosphere of water and co2, the water will make carbonic acid, which has a ph of less then 7.

The video zoom distorts too much so I fly in photos taken with telephoto lenses. All were shot the same day in the same flight.

John, thank you for your bravery in posting this video. One area where you are missing the point: relief wells are not the answer. There should be NO drilling at this depth to start with, and relief wells won't fare any better than the well that spilled all this oil. If you got stabbed, would you puncture yourself more knife wounds to try to stop the bleeding? Nor will nuclear blasts do the trick at this point. It's in God's hands now, and He knows who created this mess.

It's not as if BP deliberately wanted to spill oil. Yes what happened is devastating in so many ways and has hurt so many, but BP has done all they can and spent billions on resolving this problem. Also, the rig was not even owned by BP but by transocean, don't see them getting any attention, which is astonishing since the rig that exploded is theirs.

Several viles of water tested near Grand Isle,LA were 400 ppm in a lab test on June 10, 2010. Corexit dispersant mixed with oil is 11 times more toxic than the oil itself. Corexit is less toxic alone than mixed with crude oil. Why did US Coast Guard turn LA State owned oil barges around? Why not recycle the crude oil from the surface? Why does BP own USCG?

The black smoke coming off that oil is carbon, and is formed because there is a lack of oxygen. the smoke that comes out of my cars tail pipe is mostly co2 with some co, because of the minute lack of oxygen. if combusted in a perfect ratio, there is nothing wrong with breathing co2, just not breathing o2
co2 can cause acid rain.
if you have a saturated atmosphere of water and co2, the water will make carbonic acid, which has a ph of less then 7.

Even though the oil leak is plugged, but the worst has not begun yet and once it starts it will be many years before the recover starts. Look at the Exxon oil spill, even though you don't see the oil on the surface anymore, but the oil underneath the surface is still wrecking havoc to this day, but since that is the wilderness, Exxon got off scot-free, but BP NOT.

@dubified89 The footage is absolutely real. The smoke is the photos does not move. the smoke in the video does. This is a collection of photos that run over a video format. The video zoom distorts too much so I fly in photos taken with telephoto lenses. All were shot the same day in the same flight.

John, thank you for your bravery in posting this video. One area where you are missing the point: relief wells are not the answer. There should be NO drilling at this depth to start with, and relief wells won't fare any better than the well that spilled all this oil. If you got stabbed, would you puncture yourself more knife wounds to try to stop the bleeding? Nor will nuclear blasts do the trick at this point. It's in God's hands now, and He knows who created this mess.

The fires are started with flare guns fired into the oil connected behind skimmers to burn it off the surface.

It's not as if BP deliberately wanted to spill oil. Yes what happened is devastating in so many ways and has hurt so many, but BP has done all they can and spent billions on resolving this problem. Also, the rig was not even owned by BP but by transocean, don't see them getting any attention, which is astonishing since the rig that exploded is theirs.
