  • when I press F7 the sequencer doesn't come up. How do I fix this?? Need help here!!

  • @hazmat347 can you import mp3s into it

  • Thanks a lot man, i looked at so many videos/blogs/etc, and you sold that shit to me. Wish you could get commission on that or something straight up lol. Thanks again g.

  • I'm having trouble with getting the right sound with Record's midi tools. Though I'm just starting.

  • "i know what u say'n"

  • Im beta testing Reason 5 and Record 1.5 right now. All I have to say is. DOPE. Reason 5 has a few of new features. Kong Drum, Blocks, You can record samples on NNXT and NN19, and can't forget octo REX player which is pretty cool. Record 1.5 has a new plug-in call Neptune. Ok now I'm not a big fan of autotune but I have autotune and in my opinion, I think propellerhead is kind of late making a pitch correction plug-in but over all, Its a dope plug-in. It will be release late summer this year

  • @Hazmat347 Yo Reason 5 coming in 5 days and the new upgrade to 1.5 it's crazy. Yo they got a joint callled KONG that's better than the MPC you need to look into that.

  • @rahim4411

    I already know

  • i got them both for 400 at guitar center

  • I got that shirt lol thats an exclusive I aint seen nobody esle wit it lol

  • What if you have a cracked version of Reason 4 and buy the Record upgrade? Does it ask for sometime of Reason 4 Key?

  • yeah i fucks with record. It's nice. Even though i have reason 4.0 and recycle 2.1. Now i have all the major propellerhead products. My macbook is loaded with sounds. Good program word. I cant wait until i start playing a guitar so i could record my own sequence

  • I really like the working flow in Pro Tools but I switched to logic because Pro Tools is a CPU Hog and its stability in Snow Leopard is crap.

  • i still disagree with ID8 comment simply due to the amounth of effects you can use however with it your still not truly creating your own sound like you can with reason, my comment was simply to say either your a band with record and therefor you have all the instruments you need or you dont have a band and use reason .. simple as that

  • Hey man, thanks for your reply!

  • I will be posting up a video real soon.

  • Great demo. Question. If I want to put the mixer on a seperate monitor can I do that? Can I use dual monitors with this program?

  • @CoOlTy3000 yes, hell, you could use one for mixer, another for the sequencer (they are not attatched - Or they ARE detatchable) and then use another screen for your rack (Or RACKS being that you can have an UNLIMITED amount of racks

  • @Rane909

Ok Mr Rane909 now you see I have record and reason.

  • @CoOlTy3000

    I believe you could

  • can i record sounds straigh from my keyboard on to it

  • @Dstackz718

If you could record guitar sounds I don't see why it would record sounds from your keyboard

  • @Dstackz718 absolutely, yes

  • cool shirt man

  • @rhodes1986

    Thanx

  • you underestimate them, reason is a program you really need to learn to get quality from, but you can get great quality. I could get professional quality from 3.0, record will make it even better.

  • Hey dude, I'm feelin yuh.

The SSL console makes well worth da money!

    That's like million-dollar studio-sound right there!

Anyways, I just found a flaw.

    No pitch control Dx

If you get a chance take a listen to my music on my page dude.

    Peace

  • I just still dont believe any real seasoned engineer would use this for polished radio-ready songs...especially as opposed to using the pro gear/plugins they already have. This is CLEARY for the bedroom, beat making reason-using producers and engineers....I've tried it and it has that same "thin" sound that Reason always had ( i luv Reason btw) and i just cant get with it...it is a cool program though but again in my opinion its geared more toward the "bedroom" guys...my 2 cents

  • @Kicktess

    Hey man, I disagree.

I'm taking ProTool classes at Foothill College right now and my teacher Bruce Tambling told us how there was this professional mixing engineer who mixed a whole album on Reason! And it sounded great! (I was amazed at this.)

  • I can see that.. But again, I just feel the way I feel about it..But if you want, test it for yourself if you have extra time..do a quick mix only using the eq and dynamics on the "board", and then duplicate the same settings in protools with the Waves SSL bundle (use the Mix Buss Compressor on both). that'll let you know right there...But at the end of the day it still comes down to preference. I just know what I happen prefer :]

  • Ah. Ok

    Aside from that.

Please check my videos if u like hip-hop/pop music

    id appreciate it!

  • @Kicktess

Also, I totally disagree with the whole thin sound. Record comes with an SSL mixer man. That's like million-dollar-studio sound right there. Putting your sounds through that mixer compares to putting it through the best plug-ins you could put it through on ProTools or something. I'm talking like Sonnox Oxford or Waves SSL.

  • I guess...But im not saying you cant get a good mix on Record..I just dont think it is an overall equally as good substitute for ProTools and plugs..especially the Waves SSL plugs. And also Im not just some ProTools lover who is speaking from a bias perspective. I beta tested the Record actually HOPING it would give me this 'big' sound. Again, it just doesnt in my opinion dude.

  • @Kicktess

I hear way you saying but I have and used pro-tools its not about the quality of the program its all about how you use and perfect you mixes. Also you can rewire pro-tools with record. The only difference I see with both programs is Record you don't really have to be an engineer in order to use it. Pro-tools well its not that easy to use if you don't know what your doing. Trust me when I first got my M-Box I was asking crazy questions. Record is just more intuitive than Pro Tools.

  • @Hazmat347 Coudln't said it any better Haz, I love Reason/Record and Propellerheads!

  • @Kicktess Sorry you can mix on it it has the 9000k which is newer than a 4000g which waves gives you. The emulation is remarkeable. You can mix in it take it straight to the mastering plant and go! You don't need PT anymore!

  • @Kicktess why on earth would I spend 499 for just some waves plugins and yearly pay them when I can have the 9000k for way less and a whole recording system?

  • Im Still waiting to get Record!!!!! Reason 4.0 is the Shiit cant wait to start recording!!!

  • Whats up buddy. I Got reason 4 and pro tools. I just ordered record and reason drum refills. I just wanted to know for recording my vocals and using my melodyne plug in, will i have to use rewire through pro tools and do my vocals on pro tools? I read that rewire doesn't support any plug ins like melodyne.. I'm not a good singer melodyne really makes my vocals

  • @niggabartlebee Yeah, you have to load whatever VST/AU/RTAS plugins you want in another host - Pro Tools, Live, whatever - and slave Record to it via Rewire. Propellerhead apps are a closed system.

  • man i use a lot of tracks in record/ i tried rewiring into pro tools, just to do my vocals with some melodyne on them ,but man, i only hae 4 Gigs of ram on an IMAC, like pro tools keeps crashing.. I love Record i wish i could either sing beter, One day they have t make a pitch correction, refill, they'd make so much money of that

  • I might get this to mix and master my beats

  • I HAVE IT ALL SO I LOVE IT

  • Legit review man. You mention that you don't need a M-Box to use it. Would you put your line in from your guitar straight into your laptop without a special interface?

  • Line 6 or Line 9, I don't know.. I gotta read the manual. funny.

  • How did you rewire it to Pro tools? And can you set up a headphone mix in Record?

  • do you think it's better than logic? i'm debating on Record and Logic, help me out.

  • If you can afford both. You can rewire logic with record just like you can do with reason. The cool thing about record is the unlimited SSL 9000 K Analog mixer. You know if you have reason. You can get Record for Reason user for 149.00 with tax 160.00. Logic is a dope program but pricey.

  • God damn, how long did it take you to learn logic? I played with it for about an hour, but after that traumatizing experience, fuck that.

  • i don't think many things have changed from the Beta to the programme has it?

  • Not that much just a couple of twerks here and there but overall, its the same as the beta version

  • its the shit.. basically

  • I have Record and Reason (going to buy Recycle when I can), and I feel what your saying. Most DAW's have like a million pop-up boxes and it gets in the way of the music. I've beta tested for Propellerhead since 2002 and I can tell you that each new version will just get better and better! Reason 5 should be due early next year, as I'm sure Reason will be 10 years old in 2010, so a good time to drop a new version on us.

  • I saw sneak preview of reason 5 on you tube. forgot the link but just type in reason 5 and your probably can sneak a peek at it.

  • I just bought reason/record duo!
