The vocals on this are different from the album version (in my opinion, more edgier and better suited to the song). Top of the Pops had a rule back then that performers weren't alowed to mime to their songs, but they could sing to a backing track (you can see the instruments aren't plugged in). It's so funny why Cliff doesn't rock any more - methinks this song does big time, and I'm sure he still could if wanted to. :-)
