ppl if u want to do the 10 pin spare, try left foot on 30-35, try to send your bowl in the middel of the 20 and 15, it have to go all the way the arrows ok check the video to take your reference, and bowling is not about how hard you hit the pins, its about repeat your moves each time and a lot of other stuff but thats enought

, othewr factor is every lane have oil memory, if you go to the 5th lane every time and then you play on the 36 where the do tournaments the lane takes memory and dosent matter how many time you try to change the oil patron they can be faster lanes or slow one, so you big bowler any question ask me ill helo you to raise your 130 at least to 170

when you are a bowler, you have to know that the lanes are oiled ok, and the patron used is diferent for every lvl of league, on the pba you can heard the kind of patron they used, im telling u, that 10 -5-0 right are more dry than the middle, on the middel (deppends the patron) is where you find the oli tramp

usually on any lane, the 1st and 2nd arrow are the dry ones, so if you dont have a clue the proper spin oyu should start right there and movin depending what the ball is doing, LEFTHANDED left side is the same you can do that or if you have a nice release stand in the middel arrow and drow it like if you want to hit the 7pin that could work for you

Also - just so you know - YOUR ARE WRONG - the machine that oils the lanes - oils EVERY baord the same - do you think they oil the lanes with a toothbrush!!!!!!! I ran this machine for about 4 years!!!

Do you have any idea how to make 1 pin spares (all 10 of them) using the board system. For example, for the 10 pin I was told to stand on the approach with the inside of my left foot on the 34th board counting from the right and throwing the ball over the 20th board on the alley. That seems to work if I hit the 20th board.  Does any body know what board combination I would use on the other 9 pins. I am a right hander. Does anybody know what board combination is used for left handed bowlers

I'm suprised with how many people cannot pick up the ten pin...well i had a lot of problems picking it up until i got a plastic ball for those things. I've noticed a lot of people who throw hooks throw the ball at the ten the same way they throw a strike ball...you can't do that, maybe at the beginning but once that oil dries up and gets pushed around toward the back of the lanes, that thing will hook away from it every time...also straight at it gives you a better margin for error...

Last summer, I converted 67 consecutive 10 pins, part of a 204/221 total streak for June and July. I'll post a video very soon that will hopefully help viewers learn to convert the 10 pin :D expert village said it best when they recommended to play it straight.

I had timing issues when picking up the ten pin, id whiff a lot of 10's and 6 pins, and this video is how i used to shoot them. But to correct for my bad timing, i just use my strike balls line, just move 2 to 3 boards left, and throw a plastic ball. Have had great results.

my ball always wants to hook hard...the only way i can pick the 10 pin (and it doesn't always work) is it bowl it very slow, hope it catches the edge and rides down! Every time i throw the ball like you did it hooks hard! any idea??

u need to kill the ball.

the way it sounds is your throwing at it the same way you would a normal strike ball and coming through the ball as your release.

but what you need to do is not come through it, either just push the ball or as i play it, roll the ball so it spins paralell with the lane, that way if it catches the edge it will roll out and go straight to the 10.

Yeah, plastic spare balls are a dime a dozen but are perfect for these straight-line spares! I roll a 16-pound strike ball but a 12-pound plastic spare ball. I find the lighter ball gives a little more "bounce" when trying to pick up baby splits (2-7 or 3-10) or fence-like spares. I get fewer chops with a light spare ball.

i know seriously! haha. i bowl with just my middle finger like one might bowl with two fingers and my average is 161. it would be so much higher, but i can't pick up the ten pin, i just have way too much hook for it and i bowl and the ball is going straight for the 10, like perfectly, then it hooks insainly to like the 8th pins position. i tried bowling normally again for the 10 pin, but haha, no. doesn't work at all for me anymore. grr.

I would move to the left, last arrow and bowl straight at the 10 pin. The ball will catch huge amounts of oil and not grab until it almost hits the pin. That way you get it. Also you can buy a plastic spare ball, cheap balls on ebay. They dont have weight block and you can basically throw them the same exact way you throw your strike ball.
