There is, however, such a thing as over-using a particular word to the point that the rhetorical impact becomes diminished and the overall writing seems repetitive. Try using a thesaurus. There are many available online. Using synonyms helps make the document more interesting for the reader.

So, do you script this out before you start, or just try to remember every word he said and make it up as you go?

First, I take note of certain words and phrases he used in the original so that I have a rough idea of what I'm going to have him say. I also come up with some main topics I want to cover. Then, I chop up the audio into little phrases of anything that could be useful for the speech. I make complete sentences out of these phrases, group them according to theme, and string them together in a logical fashion.

For this video, I grouped the phrases and sentences into the topics of the intro, the bible, sin, sex, and animals/evolution, then put it all together.

So, although I do some pre-planning, I come up with most of the sentences and phrases while I'm in the editing process. I don't write a complete script until after it's all finished.

Ahhh. So, you might have a folder full of soundbites, named after what he's saying, and then just import them into your sound (or video) editor as needed to form sentences. Cool. I imagine sometimes you find you're a word or two short and have to listen to his videos to find one that'll fit in, yeah?

Well, I started Monday at about 6 pm. I finished Tuesday at around 10 pm. I took a few short breaks to go to class and sleep.

I've made a lot of videos like this before, but they were usually about a minute or two long.

At least making this video got me away from my other time-consuming project. I'm writing, recording, and mixing a fifteen-track album with full band instrumentation on my own, which I have to finish by the end of next month. That's also why I haven't been making videos recently.
