  • Sir Stirling averged over 165mph on the last section of this race, amazing!

  • What a legend of a guy, anyone who can finish a 10 hour race averaging over 97mph is the man. But when you look at the roads he done it on and realise that it's not a track its just crazy itailian roads thats what makes him a very special man.

  • Great words, few but to the point.

I know exactly what Sir Sterling Moss is on about :) Legendary..

  • I'd love to see an extended version of coverage of this great race. Along with Fangio's 1957 Nurburgring German Grand Prix win, this Moss-Jenkinson MM win has got to be perhaps the most awe-inspiring motor-racing performance of all time.

  • I race Super Go-karts, My name is George Moss. I just won the Vanderbilt open wheel Championship on Long Island NY. Sterling Is not my Grand father. We just share the same last name. I don't know how closely we are related.

  • One of the most amazing race drives of all time.

  • Stirling Moss won 197 out of the 497 races he entered in all classes in 1948-1962. That's 40% wins in all races contested.

He still has the most wins in F1 without becoming champion, 16.

Ironically Jack Brabham was 3 times champion and won 14 out of 123 starts in F1, whereas Moss won 16 out of 66 starts and was never champion.

I'd say winning in Monaco and Nurburgring with an underpowered Lotus against the totally superior Ferrari 156 Sharknose cars was true class.
