I thought I'd grasped the idea of how small it is on video the first time I watched, but when I saw it in my local Camera House I thought it was a toy model thing. It's minuscule!

Not anti Pentax - far from it.

We were at the Pentax Q launch event earlier today and they said that the other lenses would be available in the coming weeks. So it might be the reason why you only got the pancake lens kit. Nifty little thing, the Q.

now a few days of playing with it, I really like it. It reminds me of the old minox cameras. Not had a chance to take proper photos with it but I honestly would consider spending my money on it. The lenses are reasonably priced too

@LOTRzagorath Like I said, it was hardly their fault... their online ordering system worked, they requested the correct items from their supplier, they invoiced me correctly, they were simply sent the wrong items from their supplier/distributor, nothing they could have done, not their fault, and they were eager get things fixed up as quickly and painlessly as possible. (still waiting on that part). No point blowing up at them.

@probotnemesis I've imported lenses, and other accessories, but never camera bodies, I always get those local.... Sure you'll probably spend a bit more locally, but you'll have a local warranty and much easier, and much more convenient, after sales support, worth it IMHO. Like today, had I imported this camera, then got the wrong one in, it would have been a COLOSSAL pain in the ass to fix the issue and would take much longer (emails back and fourth, shipping it back, ship out right one etc etc)
Nice looking little camera. Very professional of the camera store where you got it from... very nice of them. I know many stores that would have complained to hell and back about taking it back or swapping it out... almost like it was your fault for walking out of the store with the wrong box lol.
I've decided a really bad time to buy a new camera apparently, just recently I purchased a factory demo Olympus E420 which I mainly bought because it was only $200, but now the Nikon 1 series have come out and the Pentax Q and the Canon mirrorless cameras that are rumoured to be released soon and just FUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! But, I'm not complaining, it's a great camera as far as I can see(yeah, I'm kind of a noob to cameras but it seems decent even when I blow the photos up, but not changing ISO).
These kinds of videos from you are some of my favourites - pure entertainment (granted kind of at your expense what with the cockhead at the camera store giving you shit and what-not) :)

@NalaNosivad So far it's been surprising me, the image quality is noticeably better than I'd expected... it's a back illuminated CMOS sensor, (like Sony's superb Exmor R sensors... may even BE sourced from sony for all I know) some image noise sneaks in a bit sooner in low light at higher ISO's compared to larger sensors (micro 4/3 or APSC), and of course the focus depth of field is more limited, but I'm still getting some nice Bokeh under the right conditions.

I've decided a really bad time to buy a new camera apparently, just recently I purchased a factory demo Olympus E420 which I mainly bought because it was only $200, but now the Nikon 1 series have come out and the Pentax Q and the Canon mirrorless cameras that are rumoured to be released soon and just FUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! But, I'm not complaining, it's a great camera as far as I can see(yeah, I'm kind of a noob to cameras but it seems decent even when I blow the photos up, but not changing ISO).

These kinds of videos from you are some of my favourites - pure entertainment (granted kind of at your expense what with the cockhead at the camera store giving you shit and what-not) :)
I thought your shirt was a Ford Mustang shirt (which confused me slightly) but it all made sense in the end, a very clever parody-of-sorts of the Mustang logo.

In your using it, have you found whether the compact-sized sensor (though it is a compact sized camera, so fair enough) is much of a downside or not?

@NalaNosivad So far it's been surprising me, the image quality is noticeably better than I'd expected... it's a back illuminated CMOS sensor, (like Sony's superb Exmor R sensors... may even BE sourced from sony for all I know) some image noise sneaks in a bit sooner in low light at higher ISO's compared to larger sensors (micro 4/3 or APSC), and of course the focus depth of field is more limited, but I'm still getting some nice Bokeh under the right conditions.
