This song has less to do with toys and more to do with growing up...and away. It's something all parents go through. Your little ones follow your every step and you are their world. They ask for nothing more than to love and be loved. But over time, they drift away. Yes, it's a part of growing up. But it's sad that those days can never be recaptured. The love is still there. But not so much that simple innocence. All you can do is watch them drive off and you're left with only the memories.

@MrHeatherway This is EXACTLY what i thought. I saw this 12 years ago and the song was sad, but it's profoundly more moving now that we have kids. Now I hear Jessie singing the song as a parent, her child having grown up in what felt like the blink of an eye. From a parent's perspective, remembering how much you meant to your kids and how happy they made you, a line like "and when she was sad, I was there to dry her tears, and when she was happy, so was I" is just devastating.
