I have loved this since I first time heard it back in the day. Music like this encapsulates the mid 80's to me. This is how it felt back then. Ahhh good times, good times.
TFF did a performance live via satellite around 1985 New Years Eve on Dick Clark's rockin' show. they sung Shout if i remember correctly. they wore all black. does anyone have that performance on video? if yes please post it....tnx
@pumpkinpea17 I hate you!!! I wasn't able to make it to the show near me, I found out to late. :( Not happy. :( I would do nearly anything to see them live. :)
My features form with a change in the weather Weekend We can work it out My features form with a change in the weather Weekend We can work it out When the wind blows When the mothers talk When the wind blows When the wind blows When the mothers talk When the wind blows We can work it out
Isn't this song about the United States of America trying to install to a missile system in Great Britain? There were a lot a protests about it because it would have made them a target for the Soviets. Different times, Margret Thatcher, etc.
when you think about the lyrics they are very cleverly put, yeah they were an eighties band, but the song writing somewhat a little obscure,(well to my brain at the time they were) how many people actually really thought about the lyrics to the music back then? i know i did not, i was only in my early teens but now i realise why the songs actually mean so much to me.
you want to have heard this on a huge eighties state of the art hifi, it could blow your windows out, amazing!!! im realy beginging to enjoy being young and hip back then, great times!!
Roland said that this song is about two things one of which was an old wives tale that mothers tell their children when they make a face. They tell them: "your face will stay like that when the weather changes."
I love this song so much! It has an ace story to it I think, and the drum solo bit at the end is a classic! Definitely one of Tears For Fears' best! Well, basically all of them are their best!!!
again thank you so much for posting this. this is so perfection. it's got a groove. the other day i heard that the lyrics(written by roland) was influenced by some old wives tale like "when children pull a face, mothers say 'you'll stay like it when the wind changes'". roland is so deep. btw, are you going to upload u.s. remix(bob clear mountain)? i can't wait! once again thank u;
Brilliant song! At first I hated it, but I always want to listen to it now! The song sounds so busy, but like Roland said, it has some great bits in it! Tears For Fears forever!
thank you for uploading this new wave tune;) i love it because the lyrics is to the point and most of all, the song's groove leaves a pure crystal-like soundscape in our minds.(i'm so lame at describing sound with words;) i just wanted to say this is 5 out of 5 stars. thank you;)

It's a warning song back in '84.
Now, that's in action, in reality, From the moment of melted down in Fukushima.
When the wind blows, we are horrified from the counts of counter of radioactive.
It's high in strong wind from Fukushima still this June of 2011.
When it rains, it's low down, because washed away to the river or the sea. ( in Tokyo, 200km from Fukushima)
mothers' talk never end.

Although I think it's "Mothers Talk" without the apostrophe, because mothers is plural.
