I've seen footage of the original, as these "unorthodoxed" sort of controllers have always fascinated me - You've totally captured the way it was played - beautiful job. I once saw/played another synth of French origin that the keys were on a "suspension" you wobbled it side to side to add vibrato to the notes too.
